We went today and had the Cha-don, Pork Bun, Gyoza, Blackbeard Ramen, Miso Ramen, and the Tonkotsu Gyokai Ramen. The Cha-don and Pork Bun were good. Their pork is really flavorful and a bit on the sweet side. The Bun was built nicely and came out on a cool taco holder. The lettuce gave the Bun some nice texture and crunch. Would definitely get the Bun again. The Cha-don is ok but nothing special. The gyoza was a bland disappointment. Now on to the Ramens, the Blackbeard Ramen has great flavor. The garlic really elevates the broth. It was our favorite of the 3 we tried. I would pay the extra for the egg and the chashu. It's worth it. The miso ramen was too sweet for our taste. It was certainly distinct, but for us not in a good way. The Tonkotsu Gyokai Ramen broth was good but not outrageous. In the past, I have had the Green Curry Ramen, which was unique and fantastic. Unfortunately, they weren't serving it today. read more

Best ramen in town!! I love this place-the vegetarian/vegan ramen is the best thing ever. It's the best thing to have a cold night in NJ but honestly I'd go in 80 degree weather! The only downside is that pricing is kinda on the high side for noodles and every time I go service is ok, not bad, but something is usually slightly wrong. They are good about fixing though! Overall great spot, I'll be back! read more

Delicious and affordable! I'm so glad I discovered this ramen joint in the Fort Lee area. We ordered the Tonkotsu Gyokai Ramen ($12 regular) and Blackbeard ($13 regular). Both were excellent options, but I highly recommend trying the Tonkotau Gyokai if you're looking for something unique! It has a fish dashi soup base that I normally don't find in ramen, but it's packed with so much flavor. The Blackbeard is also a great choice if you're looking for something safe- it has the classic pig bone broth common in most ramen joints, but has a nice touch of roasted black garlic. Overall, I was very pleased with my meal and look forward to coming back in the future. read more

Likely the best tonkotsu ramen spot in NJ. Ramen is favorite of mine--I've been to the top spots in NY and some small places throughout Japan, and this holds up well to the Ippudo and Totto's. Of course, can't compare to Ichiran, as their broth is on another level, but this is also much more affordable. I've probably been here 5+ times and always had positive experiences--never had to wait too long for a seat, parking was ok (street if not the small lot), food came quickly, etc. In terms of food, I consistently get their pork-based ramen, which is rich and flavorful. You can tell a lot about the quality just from drinking the soup. Many places have a much more diluted flavor profile, meaning they probably didn't cook the broth long enough. Doesn't seem like you can adjust the noodle texture, but the default here is fine. The char-siu here is also very good--it seems like they put the effort to torch them before serving, a nice detail that also imparts a smoky flavor. Pricing is also very fair and much less than what you would pay for in NY spots. In terms of value, this is definitely a 5/5. Overall, a great spot for ramen enthusiasts and newcomers alike. read more

Visited this place after driving by a few times. The appearance at first glance isn't mind blowing but once you are seated (outdoor) you find they have a cool patio lush with plants and what looks like home grown vegetables & herbs. Really really loved that. the menu wasn't overwhelming which I also liked - after browsing the ramen options I ordered the red curry. No need to add extra spicy as the dish was spiced perfectly enough to enjoy. The pork belly was tender and added mushrooms definitely added a nice texture. My only gripe (if that) was with the noodles. They had a somewhat undercooked and pasty feel to them. However- I still really enjoyed my dish. All in all 4 out of 5 and would definitely recommend. read more

Nothing like good ramen on a cold rainy day! Blackbeard has the best ramen I've had in quite some time; honestly. From the broth, to the noodles, the seasoning, intensified deliciousness packed in a bowl. I do wish they had vegetarian options; I don't think I saw any on the menu. The place is tiny & there's a constant flow of traffic. Which I did not mind because it's very cozy. I would definitely recommend paying a visit if you're in town; you won't regret it! I came here a few times now with my colleagues for lunch. Thankfully, pretty easy to get a table but not a lot of space inside so I could see it filling up quickly. If you get a ramen, the gyoza and rice dishes are half priced and if you check in on Yelp, you get a free regular soda. I have gotten the large tonkotsu ramen (it's only $1 more about yet you get 50% more noodles) both times and you HAVE to get the marinated EGG, which is very salty and soft boiled. The egg is definitely my favorite part of the dish. The noodles are a bit on the thinner side. My friend got the miso ramen and said the tonkotsu was better but then the miso ramen had the thick noodles I prefer. The gyoza is steamed which is okay. I prefer the fried method usually but at least steamed is healthier. Got the pork rice dish and we split it. Very good and very filling. The service is usually pretty quick so you're in and out and they're definitely nice. Will be returning for sure. read more

YUM! Very authentic Japanese ramen. I get the Tonkatsu ramen with an egg. The noodles are well cooked- not too firm and not to soft. The soup base is flavorful but not too salty. The egg is so good! Flavorful and cooked perfectly. I can't recommend this place any more. You have to try it! It's a very small place though so you might have to wait to get a seat. read more

Was craving some ramen for lunch and saw this highly rated place and decided to give it a shot. I have a go to ramen spot was looking to try something new - and I'm glad we did! The location is small, as many ramen spots are, but they have a parking lot which is a plus and it has very whimsical decor. Anime playing on the tv. We had to wait a little to be seated but the host gave us a menu to look over so we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. I ordered the miso ramen and my boyfriend got the green curry. Both were super good. Not overly salty, filled with flavor, and noodles cooked perfectly. The pork was so tender and tasted delicious. Broth running down your beard goodness! Soups can be transformative. Warming to the soul when feeling down or on a cold day. They can take you back to simpler times. They can be restorative and regenerative (i.e., hangovers). However, making soups that possess these qualities is like making magic potions in a cauldron that's been brewing for eons. This place makes magic soup. The first thing you notice when you enter is the decor. The restaurant, which only seats about 20 total and is always busy, has a large screen TV on the wall playing Anime shows and has a wall complete with toys and Japanese nature art. The staff is always friendly and although it is a busy establishment, we always get seated quickly. Then is the money shot. The reason you get off the couch, get dressed and bear the elements. The food, in particular the ramen. The menu has about 15 or so items. It's simple and everything is good. We always order the Chadon (pork over white rice) and the Gyoza to start. Then the ramen with egg to cap it off. And the ramen....what can be said. The broth, the pork, the noodles, the veggies, the perfectly cooked egg...the combination takes you somewhere else. A place where everything seems all right. Where the world is a better place. A place where you become a pirate with a black beard that is full of broth and this soup is the reward of a long day of pirating. All this and it's not at all expensive. read more

Soup dumplings or ramen? It's next to Petite Soo Chow. Decision, Decision, Decision. Well, a bowl of ramen wins in a cold day! Came here around 11:40am on a Tues and the place was empty! Got a large bowl of tonkontu ramen, the cha siu rice and the vegetables curry rice. How can anyone pass the $5 rice dishes! The ramen soup was very flavorful and not as greasy as some other places. The large bowl had lots of noodles! The cha siu rice was larger than that one you get in Mitsuwa and a must-have! Service was fast and great! read more

Very quaint restaurant. Not many options on the menu but they know what they're good at and keep it that way. The pork buns were out of this world. I don't understand some of these "I hate this place go to menya" reviews as well as one review about a Coke Can. I was there, the customer was very rude! Ramen is the best thing to have in this fall weather.We had the spicy tonkotsu ramen.The broth was perfectly spicy and very flavorful.The noodles were great.I got a topping of narito fish cakes which were tasty.Good service.The location is good and they have parking which is a plus.Give this place a try and you wont be disappointed.It is on par with ramen places in the city. read more

I'm glad that we arrived a little before 12 because after that, there were no more seats. The place is small with limited seats so try to arrive here a bit early if you don't want to wait In line. Soo I was super excited to have found this place on Yelp and I really was looking forward in trying their Blackbeard Ramen, but unfortunately they didn't serve it on that day... So I went for their Tonkotsu Gyokai ramen and it also was another great alternative option. The broth was flavorful and not salty, and the ramen's texture was quite good. They also gave a table hook for me to place my bag. Very convienent! All in all, I had a nice experience here and would be coming back! ^_^ read more

They make really great ramen. You can't go wrong with the place, their ramen is jam packed with flavor. They serve great quantities for the amount your are paying for. Good service as well. I truly enjoy it. Can't really say anything negative about them. I don't think they are perfect or the best I've ever had but man they are really really good. Why did I only find out about it today? The texture of the ramen is not of the instant noodles. I like the more aldente noodles and it came out to my liking. When you check in you get a free soda but you can instead ask for a free hot tea! The only problem I had today was they charged an item that did not come to our table but waitress was able to fix the check. I would come back for this probably monthly or bi-weeekly. Yeah. Solid 3-stars. My friends and I ordered 3 different ramens--miso, black garlic tonkatsu, and tinkatsu gyokai. They were very strange about letting us order the tonkatsu. The server argued that they wanted to save it for other customers so asking customers to order something else--what?? We came in around 8:45, seated at 9, and the restaurant closed at 9:30. Who were they saving the ramen for? My two other friends didn't order it, so the server went to ask permission to let me have it. So strange! Black garlic tonkatsu wasn't bad. Rich and flavorful. I liked the chasu but felt the cut was very thin. Wish it had more. The miso ramen was ok. Great miso taste but the dashi was pretty pronounced and I didn't care for it. The tonkatsu gyokai was a different story! Our friend complained it was a bit salty and she loves ramen. She got a headache and didn't continue eating it. We decided to try some. It was overwhelming with fish flavor and salt!! It tasted like smoked salted fish with no hint of pork. I'd never had ramen taste like that and none of us liked it. 1-star for this dish. Overall just an average rating for this restaurant. Nor my favorite, but also didn't hate it read more

Solid ramen joint. Perfect egg. I'm not a fan of straight thin noodles but they were still pretty good! Amazing broth. The dumplings were meh though, and had some uncooked noodle pieces stuck to them... I'm sure it was just an anomaly, but I wouldn't get them again. Definitely get the ramen though! Had the Tonkatsu ramen (L) and loved the noodles. The noodles are quite thin and chewy. I didn't actually like the broth that much, but broth preference is very personal. It wasn't too salty but the combination of flavors didn't agree with me. Service was prompt and food came out quickly during dinner hours. Price is very fair. Will be back one day. read more

This is my third visit. I would still come back again. The noodles are cooked al dente and it was consistent with the previous times I ate there. The broth is yummy and is the key to any ramen . I ordered less salty broth. Im giving it a 4 star bec the pork belly charsiu is lacking lean meat. It's mostly boiled pork fat and then torched on one side only. read more

My cousin always come here and recommended ths place to try. I came herewith my Boo Boo on a rainy during our winter break from work. We made sure to come before the lunch crowd came. We were easily able to find street parking even though they have a small parking lot. I got the fatty pork soup and Boo Boo got the spicy miso ramen. We also shared the hand made gyoza and I got a free soda with a yelp check-in. The ramens tasted legit. They took time in preparing the broth. Its sad that there very limited seating. If only they had a bigger location and closer to where I live. The ramen may be worth a drive. This is makes my top 5 ramens in the tri-state. They had naruto on the TV when I was there but that didn't get them a 5th star. read more

Green curry (extra egg of course) was delicious and packed with flavor. The establishment is small but cutely decorated with funko pops and anime trinkets. The staff was very welcoming, the prices were fair, and again the food was very good. Red curry is available and not on the menu (spicy and also delicious). If i lived closer I'd frequent this place! read more

The menu is not extensive but quality over quantity :) Overall, the ramen is delicious. Broth is not too thick and is flavorful....i love how they char-grilled the pork slices , gave a little smokey flavor to the meat. Considering how there are not a lot of ramen choices in the neighbourhood, I am happy with this place and will definitely come back again to try other ramen. read more

We haven't been here since the pandemic started, very excited to be back and found out that the food was just as good as I remembered. Green curry ramen is a must order if you come here. The broth is very flavorful, but not too greasy as most of the pork bone based soup. The coconut flavor compliments the soup base perfectly. Curry is light but not overpowering. Noodle was cooked al dente. Love it! read more

Really good ramen. My favorite is the green curry. They keep changing the type of pork that they use. Currently: pork cube (with more meat and less flavor imo) A few months ago it was a somewhat thin slice of rolled pork. I didn't really like it. It was kind of tough. Before covid: The pork was a thin slice of rolled pork. This was delicious. It was perfectly torched and full of flavor. Please bring this back! The pork buns are great as well. read more

It's been years since I last ate at Jin Ramen, and on a weekend evening I found myself looking for dining in the neighborhood which led to a stop by here for takeout. Ordering online was easy, their website provides clear descriptions of each item with prices. They're available on almost all online platforms as well (Seamless/Grubhub, Caviar. DoorDash etc). Food was ready in 30 minutes, securely packed to go. Prices are definitely in the higher side and inflation hasn't helped. While the portion size is quite generous with plentiful chunks of tender chicken, caramelized onions, shiitake, scallions and tomatoes, $28 felt like a lot to pay for the Pollo Encebollado Ramen. The broth reminded me of a light salsa verde and was a flavorful albeit imo slightly too salty take. The chicken was delicious and definitely a highlight of this bowl. The Chicken Nanban $15 appetizer came with eight pieces of fried, marinated chicken, glazed in a tangy sauce. While tasty it was somewhat generic. The Kuro Shio Ramen $23 was a lighter broth, with several sizeable pieces of chicken, more of a classic flavor profile here with a tad hint of citrus and chili. The poached egg was cooked perfectly. I might return if in the area though wouldn't go out of my way to drop by.

The restaurant is a short stroll away and thankfully we didn't have to wait long for a table as we didn't have a reservation and there were 6 of us. Ordered the ramen, katsu don, karaage chicken and two lots of gyozas. Kids really enjoyed it, as did I. I particularly loved the black garlic sauce they provided with the deluxe ramen. So glad we discovered this place!

The waitress didn't help us at all when ordering. We weren't bowled over with the food, although it was noted the meat in the ramen was high level. It hit the spot but I will try other places in the search for our "return forever" ramen place.

They were supposed to be part of my lunch for tomorrow! The price is about what you'd expect for the location. I was able to enjoy UberEats pickup and one of their very lovely offers for a student like me who often struggles with money but can't help but indulge from time to time. I cannot speak of the service or the ambiance inside as I did not dine in, but every time I pass by I always get the urge to visit. The prices were also great for the amount of food that I got, and I didn't leave the restaurant hungry. The flavors in the broth combined with how perfectly the pork belly was cooked and the amount of noodles and vegetables made it perfect. This was also my first time really trying gyoza and while I prefer buns, shumai, or dumplings, they were still really good. I think next time I'll try shrimp gyoza if they have it and will probably add extra vegetables. So excited to come back.

My brother ordered the Takatsu Ramen and he also really enjoyed it. Although at the table, we did not note any chilly oil or anything to add a little heat to his liking so I think if anything he would've preferred the Tantan Ramen. I have to say the lycheetini was not as flavorful as I am used to. My brother's girlfriend ordered the pineapple alcoholic beverage and we all agreed that that was much better. I liked how the restaurant also offers plenty flavors of Japanese fizzy sodas in the glass bottle with the glass marble. I thought the hot green tea was complementary. It wasn't but for four dollars it definitely helped keep us warm and the green tea utilized appear to be very high-quality. The only thing I could possibly mention was that it appears that the restaurants sanitation rating is still being reviewed. I did not witness or experience anything that made the sanitation concerning. Once you're at your assigned cubbyhole, you can hang your coat up on the wall behind you and fill up your water cup at the machine also behind you. You don't even see the face of the person who brings out the ramen which gives the whole process a mysterious bank teller vibe. With all this, the classic tonkotsu ramen ($23) with slender noodles nearly gets overshadowed, but don't fret since it's fantastic. I believe when you're done, you just get up and leave. Surprisingly, one of the instructional posters does not go into this.

The food at this location is obviously going to be pricier than it is in Japan (came out to around $60 for 2 people), but it is SO worth it as you can't get Ichiran anywhere else besides in Japan.
