Sushi lunch sets are an excellent value, especially the sushi & sashimi combo. It's simple but fish quality is excellent and it's a really good amount. I've come here for lunch more than once now. It's a nice, small intimate neighborhood spot, not too loud which is very nice and service is great. I also tried their ramen a couple times but it was just average. I'd recommend sushi much more. read more

** I stopped back by today & they had the Vegan noodles available with a $2 fee accordingly. Unfortunately, the Ramen itself was just OK.** I was impressed with the customer service I received, especially given the issue with my takeout order. I ordered the Vegan Ramen, yet I had to contact the restaurant to confirm whether it was actually Vegan due to the noodles not being Vegan-friendly. The listed phone number kept ringing, so I reached out through the restaurant's website. To my surprise, someone from management called me back. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to my phone at the time. When I later returned to the restaurant and asked if there was anything they could do to make up for the situation, the manager on duty explained that he had actually tried calling me several times to let me know that the ramen was not Vegan. Since they were also out of Vegan-friendly noodles, he refunded my entire order. I did get to enjoy the Miso broth. There was absolutely no hassle, attitude, or negative energy, just a genuine effort to make things right. Before I left, he also let me know that they would be receiving a delivery in a few days that includes Vegan-friendly noodles. Things don't always go perfectly, but when a business communicates, takes responsibility, and treats customers with respect, it makes all the difference. I really appreciated how this was handled. I'll return for a dine experience. read more

Came to this spot for take out for lunch. Was actually nicer inside than expected (I thought it was a take out spot lol). Service was fast, staff was friendly and most importantly the food was good. Had the spicy tuna roll & the salmon avocado. Both were great and tasted fresh! Located in battery park by all the work buildings on west end ave. Def stop by if you're around the area if you're craving sushi read more

Suram Sushi & Ramen - Sushi Bars Near Me - New York, New York

I was really excited when Suram opened because I love Japanese food and was happy to have another option in Tribeca. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered the Suram Bowl $29 and found it underwhelming. It was drenched in a dressing that completely overwhelmed the dish, and there was very little fish. In comparison, the bowl I usually get from Zutto has much more fresh fish, is twice the size, and doesn't need all that dressing. I'm always happy to try something new, but unfortunately, Suram didn't work for me. I'll be sticking with the Japanese restaurants I already know and love in Tribeca. read more

Great for lunch. We enjoyed both the box lunch and the sushi sashimi combo. The place is small and clean. The service was nice - they kept our water glasses full. It's one of a new breed of restaurant without an oven. So the salmon in the box lunch was fried - obviously not available grilled or baked. read more

It was just an average. I don't know if I picked wrong menu but it was just a mediocre. I agree with other reviews that every item is significantly overpriced. I am not sure if it's because of the location but it's just a casual Japanese place if you don't think about money lol Service is really nice though, and it just gives cozy vibe is freezing weather read more

My boyfriend and I came here since I was craving some crispy rice. This is a cute intimate spot. The service was quick and friendly. We started with the salmon crispy rice which was delicious and probably the best I've had. Usually I go for tuna crispy rice but we wanted to try something different. For mains, my boyfriend had the chicken ramen, the broth was very rich. My bf liked all the ingredients in his ramen. I got the suram signature maki number four, which was a salmon avocado roll with spicy salmon, crunch, and tobiko on top. Very delicious and filling, you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. Solid spot we would definitely be back. read more

Been here a few times and the food is mediocre and overpriced. You can genuinely get the same anywhere else. Their shrimp tempura roll was decent and so was the spicy crab roll spent $23 for it...Kani salad was ok but dry and not the best. Their chicken dumplings are ok as well. Their shrimp tempura were good. Nothing really spectacular. If you want something quick I would suggest. Service is a bit lukewarm. Place is beautiful though. read more

I've eaten in the restaurant several times, usually the ramen, and it was fine. Nothing spectacular, but consistently decent. Ordered takeout for the first time today and it was not good. Kani salad had way too much mayo, yellowtail roll was bitter and I got a sad piece of white tuna nigiri that was small, dried out and cost $8.25 for the single piece (normally there would be two). I will not order sushi from them again. read more

Suram Sushi & Ramen - Yellowtail with scallion roll and white tuna - Sushi Bars Near Me - New York, New York

Food is good but overpriced. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I really liked the salmon carpaccio. It melted in my mouth and the citrus with the truffle oil was a good combination. There is a single bathroom that was kept clean so that's good. And the food came out quick. The sesame cheese cake sounded good and different, it was pretty dense and it wasn't amazing but still good. They drizzled maraschino cherry juice over it which doesn't really go with black sesame. I made a reservation through google but apparently that doesn't do anything, I told the waiter and he said they don't take reservations. It wasn't too bust at 6:00 on a Friday night. It is a small place with about 10 tables. Downsides were the prices and the floor was very very slippery coming in. It was raining outside so it was soaking wet and I almost slipped and fell multiple times. Someone should mop the floor when it rains. read more

I had been craving sushi for awhile and chose to order something simple: a tuna maki roll and spicy salmon roll. The tuna maki roll was simple yet refreshing with the soy sauce and wasabi. Very good. However, I found myself favoring the spicy salmon roll more. I'm not sure how they do their rice, but this specific roll with the rice on the outside of the nori-- it made the rice so sticky and soft. Usually I find that rice with my sushi rolls have a noticeable grain texture. This rice was so smooth and soft it was absolutely delectable. I hadn't expected to finish off all 12 of the rolls. They were supposed to be part of my lunch for tomorrow! The price is about what you'd expect for the location. I was able to enjoy UberEats pickup and one of their very lovely offers for a student like me who often struggles with money but can't help but indulge from time to time. I cannot speak of the service or the ambiance inside as I did not dine in, but every time I pass by I always get the urge to visit. My mother went to pickup my order for me and was very graciously treated to some complimentary tea while she waited for the order to finish. Thanks Suram! read more

Nice quiet spot with good variety of options best for a quick meal with friends. Suram is relatively small which gives a nice neighborhood vibe. It also makes it easy to grab the attention of the waitstaff. The decor is warm with an emphasis on wooden panels and soft lighting. There is a good variety of food options including sushi a la carte, omakase, ramen and specialty sushi options. I was not particularly impressed by the quality of ingredients but the rolls were put together well. I most enjoyed the tuna and salmons crispy rice. The special roll "six" was also quite good. I would skip anything very simple because the sauces really help here. We did not enjoy the avocado crab rolls or the shishito peppers. Overall this neighborhood spot gets a soft 4 stars as a decent option for a bite with friends. I enjoyed the meal and the prices are very fair but I prefer sushi spots that emphasize ingredient quality. I may stop in again to try the ramen. read more

For a $13 carafe of hot sake, you can't go wrong with we ordered two because how could we not! It went down great with our dishes- sushi deluxe and chirashi. The fish was super fresh and flavorful and served nice, thick cuts. It was so good I wanted more! While it's a smaller restaurant, it created a nice vibe where you can take your time eating and chatting over drinks. read more

Came across this place while walking away from Hudson Yards in search of food. The ambiance was definitely more "polished" on top of their Japanese decors. The service was okay, as food came out pretty slow.. especially the Japanese ramen. The sushi came out first and my friend was already half way through when we had to ask our waitress again when the ramen was coming out.. By the time it came out he was already done eating and was nibbling on some leftover avocado salad. The shishito peppers were huge and barely seasoned.. not sure what we were supposed to taste.. The ramen was a bit bland too and I used a lot of the chili oil(?) that it came with. Overall, it was just okay b/c a lot of the dishes were a bit bland and service could have been better. read more

I saw this place from the outside and thought it looked nice to drop in for an early dinner. Pics looked nice from Yelp, but I must say I was very underwhelmed. Staff were helpful, and the ambiance was nice, chill, quiet. However, the food looked sloppy, what was supposed to be spicy tuna rolls were not spicy. The fish was just overly big for no reason. The fish did not appear to be as fresh as I am used to. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

Pretty decent sushi place. For appetizers, we ordered the yellowtail Jalopeno (which I definitely recommend) and the truffled salmon crispy rice, which was alright but I found it a tad heavy. For rolls, we had the 6 and 8, which for some reason were completely different sizes. I found the 6 just okay and the portion size was pretty small; the 8 was really good however, I enjoyed it quite a bit (great flavor, generous with the fish). read more

My date and I wanted to grab a quick sushi meal and Suram provided just that. We walked in and sat at the bar. The place was small and low key. One of the sushi rolls we ordered were delicious yet the others were fairly generic. Will come back to try the crispy rice rolls and ramen though. My only wish was them having a better wine selection. Also, Can't remember if they had a bathroom bc I wanted to wash my hands and didn't see one. Thank god for wet wipes! read more

This place is otherwise in neighborhood gem however this occurred during takeout paid over $23 for this roll with extra cucumber twice avocado and crab meat. Does it look like it? Feeling very taken advantage of there were additional rolls we ordered extra for that came the same way I would cost you when doing takeout Especially if you're adding extras. You're not gonna get them. Otherwise this restaurants are really terrific, but this was highly disappointing and left us feeling very taken advantage of six tiny pieces for that kind of money isn't right. read more

Stumbled across this place one day for dinner. The vibes are pretty cute and the inside is decorated nicely, however, the place is on the smaller side so it is not great for larger parties. I tried some two of their sushi rolls and it was good, but nothing special. Definitely a reliable go to place if you want some sushi or ramen, but it isn't a place that I would go out of my way to go to. Also giving them three stars rather than four because it felt like the servers were rushing us as they kept trying to ask if we were done to take our plates. read more

This is a nice little spot in Lincoln Square. They serve sushi and ramen. I had ramen this visit. The ramen menu is a little limited with 4 options, and the only meat option is chicken. The portion size was generous. The broth didn't have much flavor but they provide chili oil on the side which helped. The noodles were cooked well. The service was very good and my water was never empty since they were always refilling it, which is helpful when you like your ramen spicy. They have some outdoor seating. Inside is a small space but very quaint and pleasant. There is also a sushi bar that you can sit and eat at. Overall, it didn't blow my socks off but if I'm craving ramen in the neighborhood again, I'd consider returning. read more

I cant recommend it enough, truly every piece of fish will melt in your mouth, the yellowtail spicy roll, the number one, two, three, and four! will be coming back to try number six (EVEN IF YOU GET IT TO GO). Came here 5pm on a Friday to try yet another neighborhood spot and incredibly happy I did! Came with my partner to get our sushi fix and it did not disappoint! We ordered the crispy rice with tuna, #6 roll, #8, and sashimi deluxe. We then wanted some sake but we're very indecisive, the waiter was so kind he offered samples to help us choose! Staff was very friendly and attentive, ambience was very tranquil. My favorite was the #6 out of everything as it has seared scallop, but everything else was still so so good. Cute new ramen and sushi place in a neighborhood that's often lacking in food options! I live nearby and have been watching the storefront for a few months now, so I was excited to finally try it when it opened this week. I walked by at 4:30pm and wasn't exactly hungry, but really wanted to try something, so I had the maguro avocado salad and a California roll. The salad was delicious - fresh and well seasoned - though portion is smallish for $14. I liked the California roll too, though I feel like those are pretty similar from one restaurant to the next. It's a small space (I counted a total of 16 bar seats) - probably better for small groups. Most of them face the open kitchen and the others face out the window. The menu has all manner of sushi options as well as a few ramen selections - all chicken or veggie broth (no pork). Service was quick and friendly. Suram is also cashless (just a heads up!). Overall a good experience and I'm really excited to come back and try more of the menu! read more
