The hash brown was stale and really overpowered the burrito. So my egg burrito was just old tasting. The salted bagel was not a bagel but a piece of bread that had clusters of salt. We enjoyed our drinks but would pass on the food. I would probably find another coffee shop next time I'm in town. read more

Order online times need to be adjusted to realistic times. I decided to give this black rock another chance and ordered ahead 15 minutes although my quoted wait to have my drink ready was 5 minutes. I got to black rock and my drink was not ready and I had to wait another 10 minutes for it to be ready. At that point I could have gone through the drive through which I knew I did not have time for. I have had this issues multiple times and was told it would be resolved to realistic times but it has not changed. Very disappointing as it made me late to what I was going to. read more

Absolutely love Black rock. I used to go to starbucks but this has become my go to place. The bacon gouda sandwich tastes much better here and same with their coffee. The short of my score is Product quality - 3 (McD's dark roast is on par with flavor and strength to Blackrock coffee and doesn't cost almost $4 for a medium), Guest Service - 0. One would think with the plethora of coffee joints currently open and continuing to open, the similarity between product offerings amongst the competitors and the markedly increasing costs they charge (yes, coffee bean production is getting more expensive) any business in this arena would be striving to set themselves above the rest with things they can control.....like customer service. I popped in around 5:30 am the other morning and there were three young ladies working behind the counter. There were zero other customers in the location, and they had one car in the drive thru being served by one of the young ladies. The other two were doing things. I stood at the counter for at least a minute and a half, (from when I actually started timing so in fact it was possibly as long as 2 minutes total) before anyone even acknowledged my presence. Granted, 1.5-2 minutes isn't a long time when a place is packed and the employees are hopping to prep and serve guests.....but when there are ZERO other customers in the place.... to even get a "good morning, be with you in a moment"? When I did get addressed, the rep's interaction was a flat as calm lake, no smile, no engagement, nada. I got my simple coffee with cream (heavy handed by the girl), got a "have a nice day" and before I could take two steps toward the door, all three were deep into their phones. If you have a product that is unique and absolutely rocking and easily miles above the competition, though I don't agree with it, you can afford to treat guests with such disdain....but with coffee and other offerings that are "ok" at best? Oh ya, forgot to mention twice I've tried their breakfast sandwiches and on both occasions, I would have to say McDonalds is better. At McDonald's I don't expect good customer service....I'm happy if my order is actually correct. At a "premium coffee establishment", the bar should be higher. I believe in giving a business a few opportunities to truly demonstrate who they are because being a business owner with over 100 employees, I know some team members can be "challenging" to get to meet your service level goals. This last visit was third try at this location, and each experience has been remarkably the same which means the leadership of this location is the source of the problem,... the team members performance is merely a symptom. read more

Staff is young (nothing wrong with that) but more focused on socializing with one another. Lastly, I opened up that laptop and grabbed a seat. No plug near by. Drinks are good but they're out of something every single time I've gone and I go a lot. Just some examples.. out of the lid for drinks with cold foam so had to drink them with a straw, out of citric acid for drinks, out of fuels.. HOW are you out of fuels?? That's half your menu. And the worst part is that we wait 15-30 minutes every single time for our drinks even if there's only 3 cars in line. The workers care more about socializing than making the drinks. read more

This is probably my favorite coffee shop every time I come to Arizona. If you ever had the pleasure of having coffee in borders bookstores when they were a thing this place tastes just like that. You can taste coffee as well as the sweetener added. It doesn't taste like milk and water and they BLEND THE ICE INTO THE CHILLER! I wish I could get a chiller every single day. I don't normally come here. The service was horrific. I entered the store to order two drinks. I waited for 5 minutes at the register before someone greeted me and took my order. It was busy so I have them the benefit of the doubt. Then I patiently waited for about 15 minutes while I saw other order being completed. I then approached the counter to ask what was taking so long. The employee apologized and said he'll make my order right away and the order was then completed in about 2 minutes. So not only was I not greeted upon entry and had to wait to place my order, but it was completely forgotten about/missed and it took me an extra 10-15 minutes waiting in there. I'd only ever been to one Black Rock Coffee years ago and wanted to check out this newer location today since I was in the area. There was no line at all in the drive through so it must have been meant to be. That's what I tell myself every.single.day when I'm buying all things coffee ha ha ha Anyways their were quite a few things on the menu that sounded great, but my daughter decided to try the Caramel Blondie and a Horchata Breve...don't forget the blueberry muffin. Service was great and we had our drinks and snack quickly. Once we tasted our drinks we ended up switching because I liked the Caramel Blondie better than the Horchata.
