It's nice to walk into a place where the employees are welcoming and engaged with customers coming in. The fruit was beautifully placed, again, you can tell the employees care, but I could've done a little more flavor with the açaí. You also really do get the amount you pay for, the bowl was pretty big compared to other açaí bowls I've had. We ordered a Pitaya bowl and a smoothie and what was supposed to be a frozen fruit bowl was the consistency of cold thin soup with fruit and granola. We were very disappointed. We have had this to be more like a smoothie with fruit before but it's never been this runny. It was very disappointing. The smoothie we purchased was fine. It was thick and somewhat frozen. You can choose between whey or pea protein. Plus, the bowls have a plethora of delicious toppings. They also have a small refrigerator section by the cashier with some grab and go items. I usually get the balls (not sure what else to call them right now, haha, and they are delicious) and occasionally the juice. The girl on the phone was super helpful since I was about to embark on a 3 day cleanse and I was scared but it was super easy process. I wish there was a way to reuse the juice containers but bcuz of covid we have to be extra cautious. I hate being wasteful. I loved the reusable bags. I just got back from a trip to Hawaii (I had my COVID vaccine & traveled safely!) and was missing the acai bowls I was having there so I decided to try one from this place. I ordered it through UberEats (delivery had no issues) and paid $21.12 total. I got the superfood acai bowl but without apples and added almond butter. The almond butter that came on it was less than I expected for the additional cost and the acai base tasted more like strawberries than acai compared to the ones I had while traveling but I shrugged that off until I took a couple more bites and it was terribly unblended... I have found 4 whole pieces of kale in it (pictured) and I'm barley halfway into it. Not my go to Nekter, but was shopping in the location so I thought I would drop in. Only 2 employees were working, one I believe was the owner/manager - she was busy filling the online orders of bowls. While the other gal was making and running the register. Ordered my usual cold brew and usually it is half way gone before getting into my car. But todays, was horrible something was missing or way to much coffee was used. I had to get a sweet blended coffee from Black Rock just to make yours taste decent. I know if your place of business is overwhelmed by orders, slow down a bit and follow the recipe (posted on the wall). We can see that you are busy, but you should mess up the taste etc. read more

I inquired about the price of the cleanses and was told 49.95. Asked which one and she said both. Then I Asked about the to go bottles. Again was told the price and that's it. I am so excited to have found this place. When I was living in Minnesota I could only find one decent place in town so finding this gem first time out made me very happy. I ordered the Peanut Butter Acai Bowl - I would have loved to have tasted more peanut butter but I will just ask for me next time. The guy who helped me was very patient and just nice. I wanted to love this place.... However both my husband and I have gotten sick from it on multiple occasions. There is some kind of food safety issue going on. A month or two ago he had ordered an orange crush smoothie and shortly after consuming it was ill and threw up. We thought it was a fluke and tried it again yesterday. He got a different smoothie, and I ordered one of the acai bowls. It was all very runny and mostly liquid. The acai bowl doesn't even taste like real acai, the color was off, super runny. I ate it anyways. Big mistake. Not long after, I wasn't feeling well and ended up throwing up myself. And this is coming from someone with a stomach made of iron. Husband was fine this time around. Nekter never disappoints. The young ladies who work there are very helpful and will help you figure out what you would like, which is very helpful when you can't remember what you bought last time. Their fresh juices are refreshing and delicious. I usually get the detox juice. The Açaí bowls are filling and full of nutrients and the turmeric shots are good, if you don't mind a bit of spice add some Cheyenne pepper to it. Today I ordered a bowl and it was only filled halfway with a lot still left in the blender. She said that was the recipe and it only filled half the bowl and I asked her to scrape the rest out of the blender and she had the worst attitude. And then just threw the toppings on very messy and unmeasured. Keep in mind I get these bowls 3-4 times a week and they are always at least 3/4 of the way full. We used to love Nekter açaí bowls and previously have had good experiences, but sadly the most recent experience at the north Peoria location was terrible. The bowls were filled barely halfway and the fruit on top of my wife's bowl was pathetic. There were only a few blueberries and one small strawberry sliced up. My wife went back to ask for more fruit and she was rewarded with the addition of one very small strawberry. We took a picture and submitted a concern through the Nektar app, but haven't received any reply at all after multiple weeks. The poor service and quality was bad enough, but the complete lack of any response from the company confirms that they just don't care. I hope that the few cents that they are saving on a $9 bowl are worth all the customers they will lose. Thankfully a Wow Wow Lemonade has opened across the street with great açaí bowls where you actually get your money's worth! read more
