We didn't order any food while we were here, but the drinks we did order were very good and came out quickly! We really enjoyed our experience here. This was a great place for the cats. They had so many unique things for the cats to play with and offered them many retreats from the hands of people. Very well taken care of and no cat odor at all! Also, most affordable cat cafe I've found! One thing I really liked, too, is how the tags on the cats had their name and age. First of all, the Black Forest Cat Cafe is very well run, clean (odor free!) and a pleasure to visit. Order at the counter, the baristas will call when your order is ready. I was excited to see they use Old Crown coffee! Reusable cups! We took our coffees into the cat-greeting area, which is totally enclosed. There were maybe 8-9 beautiful, clean, friendly cats there. The visiting (which costs $10) lasts just short of an hour. Again, I want to stress how clean and nice everything is kept. The animals are extremely well cared for. I wish I could take all the kitties home, but for now they are well-loved and happy! We didn't try the food, but I have confidence it would be good! Next time :) read more

I wish I could give higher than 5 stars, this is a really special place! We have been here 3x now, we don't live in Indiana, but we make it part of the itinerary when we are there. The cafe is huge, and safe for both people and cats. You can go and sit by a window and watch the cats, or you can pay $10 for 55 minutes in the room with the cats. So, even if you can't afford the $10 you can still see the kitties. $10 for nearly an hour is a really great deal, too. I've liked every kind of iced coffee I've tried (cookie latte, white pumpkin, and mocha). My partner gets the plain black, and he says it's good too. I need more sugar, personally The staff is great, too. They all have really big hearts and love these cats. They keep the room clean (no litter smell), and the cats are well taken care of, the human bathroom is clean, too! They also have merch like shirts, mugs, and hair accessories and I believe the proceeds go back to the cats. I haven't tried the snacks, but they are always darling with little paw prints on the cookies etc. Can't wait to go back! read more

Went to have coffee and play with cats. They take the shelter cats and give them a fun place to stay until they are adopted. The whole room has tons of cat toys and places to hang out. It's $10 a person for an hour in the cat room. Would definitely be back. I hope all the cats get a nice home they were all so sweet. Absolutely love this place! The kitties were a little skiddish, but a few broke out of there shells and were the sweetest fur babies!! My happy meter is full!! The pumpkin muffins are so amazingly soft and flavorful. The espresso is strong and delightful! Whenever I return to Indiana for a visit I will make this a for sure stop of mine. read more

We had a really good experience here at the Black Forest Cat Cafe. We adopted 2 cats and they've been a dream!! The staff was really friendly and informative while we were there. The cat room was clean and the man working in there knew all of their names, how long they had been there, etc. I think it's so great that the cats are around so many people and other cats, before they are adopted. In my opinion, this makes them more social and less skittish. A couple things that could be improved upon... If there is a cat you want to adopt, you have no idea whether or not someone has already put in their application to adopt them. Which means, if you fall in love, and someone has already put in an application, and they get approved, you don't get the cat. :( The second thing being, getting into the cat room. It's a little confusing. There is a tablet near the door of the cat room, but we weren't sure if someone would come over to sign us in, or if it was to sign yourself in, or if it was for the waiver, or if it was to make a reservation. There was no one standing there to tell us either. read more

My toffee crunch iced latte with oat milk was incredible!!!!! The espresso was not burnt and smooth! The inside was clean and so cute! Cat decorations everywhere! They also sold car themed jewelry and other items. The service was great and I was greeted instantly! They were helpful and kind when I was ordering! Highly recommend this place! Purrrfect pet petting and tea sipping paradise, convinced my buddy, who also couldn't believe The Loving Cafe cooked vegan food fit for a carnivore, and even though he didn't need to get up close with cats I was smitten with the grown up kitten collection. Not only that the menu! It is huge! Take a good scratch round the drinks and food, plenty of quality brews too, this is divine feline time and fancy feast for humans. I was waiting for an afternoon date with Conjure to do the cherry bean stuff and happily mewed to a Blue Moon. They layered it! That's one tail flicking pretty concoction that even with only a Chicago latte to compare to was totally winning for my morning. I love a simple mix of flavors done right. Matcha isn't for everyone nor my everyday but this makes a good reason to pad around Fort Wayne more often. My buddy was basic with caramel forward espresso that was very easy to drink. It's great to see the many other high reviews are not just catering to Garfield bias or cheap sugar centric glasses. I can easily recommend Black Forrest to all Toms! read more

Attn!!!! Beautiful place but staff need work!!! Hailey was extremely rude and embarrassed this girl when she said, O we can't hold the cats tht sucks. she called her out front of the other people and rudely made her recite the rules. It literally brought the moral down in the room. I Do not recommend this place. You're better off going somewhere else to get coffee and hit up a humane society where u will definitely get treated better!!!!!!!! ((no reservations and it's free besides the coffee)) read more

I love this place and what they stand for. They help out the FW Animal Care & Control by having adoptable cats in the cafe. I got a caramel latte and it was delicious. They have so many event options and are very active in the community. I love the support they show our local animals, so I'm an instant fan! It helps their coffee is delicious too. read more

Absolutely love this place! The staff is super friendly, they have great snacks (my favorite is the toasted roll with butter and jam, but the bacon avocado roll is also nice) and drinks (hot chai ftw!) including some nice limited time specialty drinks. It's always clean and the outside cafe fits the kitty theme well. They have photos on the wall of all the cats they've adopted! The cat room is awesome and pretty cheap for an hour visit, and you can take your drinks (just not food) in either you. But you can also just grab a snack and watch the cats from the cafe through the window table setup. The cats are always well taken care of and the staff is always excited for arrivals and adoptions, they'll tell you anything you want to know about the cats inside. They cater mostly to older cats, to find them homes, though occasionally have kitten days. A great place to go unwind! Kid friendly too, so long as there's a guardian and the kids are kind to the kitties. read more

Friendly staff and friendly kitties! They have about a dozen cats there at any time. Some were sleepy but most were happy to be pet and a few were feeling playful. One cat was being adopted when we arrived. There are toys and a brush or 2 there. We also had a tasty peanut butter cookie with a chocolate paw print and a hot cocoa. Both were good. read more

Rude staff. Went in for the first time. No greeting or explanation of how the cat room worked. I was just asked if I had a voucher? I had no idea what she was talking about. We have them for a reason, she said. Please take​ in to account you just might have new customers who just want to understand how your business runs. We won't be back. First off, I think the negative reviews may be specious at best. My wife, sister and I have been there twice. Both times with arguably, the best cafe experiences I have ever had. The staff is extremely friendly and informative First time we were new customers too! Staff was wonderfully helpful. Unless these cats were in a caring home for a long term, there would not better place for these cats to be. Love from staff and visitors allll day long! Cleanest and friendliest establishment I've ever been in!! Great drinks and snacks! No litter box smell in the cat room. Relaxing atmosphere outside cat room where you can sit and watch the cats. The owner of this establishment beat us over the head with a social justice diatribe before we could even decide what we wanted from the menu. Who wants to engage in something like that before they've had their coffee? The drinks only come in two sizes, one for hot and one for cold. And the coffee tasted abysmal and made us sick! This was my first time there today we saw the place and my grandson wanted to go in so I took him. We sat by the cat room looking in the window for a time as we did I saw people going in and out. so we then got up to go in I looked around for information about going in and there was nothing the women at the conter were busy, so my grandson and I walked in the first door again I looked for information and there was none, so we santized our hands and just then a man walked out looked at me then in a very rude voice asked me "Do you have reservations?" I said no then again in a very rude voice he said "You have to have reservations to come in here." then just looked at me. I was very embarrassed so I just turned and walked out and he went back in the room. All he had to do is talk to me in a nice way and explain how things worked.
