Don't sleep on Black Bear Diner!!! When it comes to turkey dinners, especially at diners, I am HARD to please! This turkey dinner FAR exceeded my hopes and dreams! It was the quality of turkey you would expect at a Thanksgiving by Martha Stewart. If you told me that I would want to ever drink turkey gravy, I would have laughed at you! But it was THAT good! And the green beans with bacon and red skinned mashed potatoes (I opted no gravy) combo of sides just kept competing with each other in my mouth for which one was most delicious! We also can't ignore the side salad. I got it with Thousand Island but they also offer other dressings, including Bacon Ranch. I ate the cucumbers and cherry tomatoes before I could stop myself and take the photo. I had been craving a salad and if this side salad alone was my dinner, I would have been thrilled! It was Farmers' Market fresh down to each piece of lettuce! Even my dog begged for a piece of the lettuce! Not pictured is the corn bread muffin that was quickly devoured by my husband, who had dinner before elsewhere and insisted that he wasn't hungry! This is quickly becoming my favorite in Odessa! If you told me that a diner would top places like Sid and Sam's or Cowboy Prime, I would have laughed but it really is that level of quality! And all of our orders have been via DoorDash so far. Can't wait to dine in! read more

What a great addition to the Odessa/Midland area! Cool diner atmosphere, loaded with bears everywhere! Our waitress was attentive and patient as we scanned the decent menu of many breakfast and lunch items.. I got the GRIZZ.. the eggs were cooked to perfection, bacon had a nice bite and not too soggy, and the ham was pretty good as well.. I like the thick cut hash browns! Definitely will be coming back! read more

One of the newer places in the area. Katie my server was very friendly and attentive while I sat the the counter. Expect a long wait for larger groups during weekends. Comfy chairs to watch the chaos at the kitchen window. Worth a stop for breakfast and give the extraordinary french toast a try. Biscuits and gravy is a great side order. Plenty of food for the price read more

Extremely disappointing! Our waitress was wonderful, but the rest of our experience wasn't! When my husband asked if they served soft boiled eggs, our waitress double checked the menu and said, "yes.". He ordered 3 soft boiled eggs, white toast and the 6 Oz steak. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns and fruit. After 15 or 20 minutes of waiting for our food, the waitress informed my husband, " Everything else is really, but it will be another 10 minutes if you want the soft boiled eggs." REALLY? The cook couldn't tell the waitress BEFORE everything else was ready? So he said just do soft poached. When we finally got our meals, the only thing that was hot was his eggs! The steak was so tough it was not edible (we're hoping our dog will be happy with it!) and he got wheat, not white toasts. My eggs Benedict was barely lukewarm, the hash browns were cold and not fully cooked and the fruit tasted like cold storage! We paid over $50 including the $5 tip for this less than acceptable meal and experience! As a retired couple, this was a treat for us ... NOT SO MUCH! read more

Wanted to try this place for the first time. It was a full house and hostess (natalie) thought it would be cool to say the wait was two days. Let's train the hostesses to do better. read more

My family of 5 had a great experience here! Our server Chadrick was AWESOME and went above and beyond in his service. We have a 3 year old who can be a little much and he had lots of patience with him and all our little ones all together. He was also on top of everything and made our first experience a great one. I was excited to try this new place but What a waste of money. I ordered togo and they had me waiting just to give me a cold meal. And their employees are unfriendly af. They should have training for how to be friendly with customers. read more

Ordered the chicken fried steak. It was pre fab and hard as a rock. Seriously, I couldn't cut it without looking like I was sawing it. Returned it and just ordered an egg, it was good, but they charged me for my meal, but gave me the egg for free..what. My husband had all you could eat catfish, the batter was weird, he nor I liked it. Expensive mistake read more

The food was great, the service was great, but if you go in and set down to eat, you better have a sweater or a coat. It wasn't that hot outside but they sure had the AC cranked up. My theory is they are so busy, they want you in and out real quick. read more

First visit. Service attitude was great. Actually getting the meal is slow. And staggered. Chicken fried steak was very overcooked to the point of not being able to cut the meat or the bread and the hamburger was so well done that it was dry. The potatoes and the vegetables were decent could've been cooked to at least al dente' stage though. read more

Really well diner I had experience. I wish the service was there, but overall didn't kill my experience.

Service at 3:30 on Thursday was terrible. We had to wait almost 10 minutes before a server came to get our drink order
