Got the speciality banana latte, didn't love the banana chunks, and there wasn't a lot of "espresso" flavor coming through. Deff wouldn't get that again. COFFEE, KOLACHES, AND MORE! (Even alcohol!)…read more I try to avoid Haywood Road however when I heard they have kolaches here I had to come try them. This joint has now become one of my study session go-to spots! My current favorite coffee in town is the fall menu Sweet Potato Marshmallow Latte! Kolache selections vary depending on the time of day, as they're made fresh in small batches. My favorites are the jalapeño egg and the sausage gravy flavors. Inside seating is adequate, and there are some tables with access to outlets. Staff has always been friendly. Music selection is usually really good! The downside is the parking, there is a decent amount of street parking, especially compared to Haywood Road more west of here. I've never had a problem getting a spot during morning/early afternoon on any day of the week. If you're on the opposite side and trying to walk across the street, cars don't stop for you at the crosswalk in my experience

My drink was made fast, the service is always friendly, and they actually like to talk to you. This place is absolutely gorgeous inside and HUGE. It's also really quiet, so if you need somewhere to study, work, or just focus for a while, this is a great spot. I noticed this time that they have a little lending library with all kinds of books, and now it looks like they have puzzles and cards too, which I thought was really cute. And PARKING. The parking is free. On a street where parking can be a pain, it is honestly refreshing to find a place where you don't have to circle the block three times and then walk a mile to get where you're going. Definitely becoming one of my favorite places to stop for coffee.

I didn't realize they sold food here until I looked online so I thought I would give it a try. Especially since they are selling falafel and shawarma which is hard to find, and rarely any good in the United States. It's like trying to find decent Mexican food in Europe. I went in around 10am to order a falafel wrap and a drip coffee to go. The drip coffee was surprisingly good. Nice and dark. While I sat and waited i noticed many of the tables were dirty with crumbs, etc. I was the only person in there at the time so it isn't as if it were especially busy. I had finished my coffee by the time my order was ready so I went to the trash containers to throw away my cup. The containers are a lot like the tall trash containers you find in fast food places, with a flat surface on top for trays, etc. I noticed many people had left their paper cups on top of the containers which I thought was odd until I noticed both containers were overflowing with garbage. At 10 in the morning? Not a good sign. The falafel wrap was okay. The bread was good, the tzatziki was good with fresh tomatoes and cucumber. The falafel was mushy from a mix. So not great. Not real falafel. It doesn't make me want to try the chicken or lamb shawarma. Their inability to keep the customer facing areas clean makes me doubt the sanitation in the kitchen. So I doubt I'll be returning. It's unfortunate because a decent Middle Eastern restaurant could really do well in this neighborhood.

We got their seasonal 'Smores Latte' iced and it was delicious. We also shared their 'Peach Rooibos Croissant' and it was so flavorful and delicious. The croissant had filling on the inside. The one negative was that I didn't see a wheelchair ramp to get in and out of the coffee shop. It made getting in and out difficult with a stroller.
