Prime Rib Entree cooked medium rare. So good dipped in au jus and creamy horseradish sauce.
Stacy C.

Had dinner here on a Sunday evening with my family for my mom's 86th birthday. We had a reservation, and they seated the seven of us comfortably at a large corner table. The restaurant was packed and noisy. We had the best waiter. He was attentive and cracked jokes continuously. When he found out it was my mom's birthday he offered to bring her a couple different free desserts, but she didn't want one. I like the menu because you get to select your own side dishes to go with the entree from a long list of delicious items. I ordered the 12 oz. prime rib with a baked potato and salad. The prime rib, cooked medium rare, came with horseradish sauce and au jus. The potato had butter, chives, and sour cream on it. The dressing for the salad was a delicious honey mustard. Everything was very good. Others ordered the New York strip steak, salmon, and BBQ ribs. The food arrived quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. This Black Angus location has been around for a long time. I used to go dancing there with friends thirty years ago when it was a popular nightclub in addition to a dining establishment. I think the dance floor is now covered with tables. I've always been able to count on Black Angus for a delicious meal and it's nice to see that hasn't changed.

Kids steak meal is a good portion but it's a pretty tough sirloin

Came here with the family and we were using Inkind so we had to spend $150 to get $50 back. Hence, we ordered quite a bit of food. I was OK with the meal. Service is standard and you get that chain restaurant feel. We came on a Friday around 8p. No wait. Here are my ratings: Food (3.5 stars) + 16oz Prime rib was cooked perfectly and it's not bad. It just doesn't come close to House of Prime Rib. The au jus is some form of gravy which is a bit disappointing. (4 stars) + Brussel sprouts appetizer is very good. It is one of the better Brussel sprouts I've had but didn't care for the blue cheese. (4 stars) + Ribeye steak is likely choice grade which is not bad but I'm used to prime so it's just OK for my high standards. Loaded baked potato is quite filling and green beans were perfect compliments. (3.5 stars) + Kids steak is a tough sirloin cut that could use more seasoning. It's a good portion but I had to cut the steak for my daughter. I prefer Sizzler's kids steak because they're seasoned well and more tender for sirloin. (2.5 stars) - BBQ ribs were huge and we didn't have room to eat it so we took it home. We had to slap on our own bbq sauce and air fry it. It actually tasted good at home. The bite I did take when it was fresh at the restaurant was nearly inedible. (2 stars) - Artichoke appetizer isn't my thing. I didn't even know where to start eating the leaf. My wife showed me but I still couldn't enjoy it. However she did like it though. (2 stars) Service/Ambiance (4 stars) + Our server was fine. I can't remember her name but she understood our plan to maximize the Inkind deal. + When you get $150 of food for just over $100 it's a win. The bbq ribs were enough for lunch the next day. + I haven't been to a Black Angus in like 25 years but not much have changed other than our taste buds and waistline have grown. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing.

Came about 10 minutes before our reservation and checked in. They were extremely busy, people without reservations were being quoted a 1 hour 30 minute wait, so good thing we booked ahead. Even with a reservation, we were seated about 13 minutes late. Service was rough. Slow to get our drinks, slow to get a server to take our order. It felt like they might have been short‑staffed. There were plenty of empty tables, but the staff just couldn't keep up. Food, at least, was consistent. We ordered the Campfire Feast, but they were out of mixed vegetables and out of asparagus, which was disappointing. We ended up with the wedge salad, Brussels sprouts, green beans, ribeye, and prime rib. Overall, the food was fine, but the service really dragged the experience down.

A pandemic loss in Vallejo caused a feeling of going to see who was still making it in San Jose. One place I had missed was Black Angus... which we need back cause it was a pretty decent steakhouse. Ended up here on Veteran's day, so it was crazy packed. Hasnt changed its decor...good ol' rustic layout. It was a good ending to the day! Ciao for now. ...

This place is spacious and service is excellent. Our waiter is very attentive and friendly. We ordered the meal for two with appetizer, two entrees and a dessert. The crab cake is a very good size and delicious. The steak (filet mignon) is cooked properly and tasty. The carrot cake is good too. Overall a very good experience and excellent food that's reasonably priced. This is the only Black Angus that's still around in the South Bay. Somehow the other ones in Milpitas and Sunnyvale all closed down unfortunately. We'll definitely return to support this location and want this one to stay open.

I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed so far I strongly recommend making reservations as it can be pretty busy & the wait time can vary from 20-60 minutes. My go to appetizer will always be the calamari strips. They're absolutely crunchy and delicious, especially with the sauce that's provided. I decided to get their Filet & Surf ($53.99) it came with a 6oz. Filet Mignon, two lobster tails & two sides! For that price and the amount of food that I received was definitely well spend. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasteful. My partner's ribeye steak was tender and juicy. It was made to perfection. The service wasn't bad either, they take your order, check in once or twice which is nice in order to not feel forgotten. The environment is nice and quiet. Lights aren't too bright which is always a plus in my eyes. I will be coming back soon & recommend this to anyone.

We've been back here a few times to order takeout and the quality and presentation has improved dramatically. So, I am updating my review. The service is great and welcoming. My wife enjoys the Buffalo & Ranch Grilled Chicken Sandwich: grilled chicken or crispy chicken tenders, chipotle-Buffalo sauce, ranch made in-house, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun (4/5). The chicken is tender and moist. Rodeo Ripper Combo Meal: 8 oz certified Angus Beef hand formed patty, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, onion rings, pickles, and house made bbq sauce, served on a buttered and toasted brioche bun (4/5). This was a tasty burger. I wish they added more bbq sauce, but it was still tasty and cooked to order.

It's been several years since the family and I visited this place! This was a childhood memory when my family wanted to go out for dinner. We made reservations on a Thursday evening at 5:30 pm and it was quiet yet with older diners already enjoying their meals. They have a private parking lot, so you don't need to worry about that. Once we arrived, we were sat immediately to a booth. We were planning to get the Campfire Dinner, but we arrived at the right time for their lunch specials and happy hour menu which lasts until 6 pm. We got some happy hour appetizers and lunch specials. Our waitress, Jennifer was a delight! She was attentive, cordial, and diligent with our orders. Great service and hospitality. We got 3 appetizers for our picky eater - 3 Cheese Garlic Bread: warm, toasted and so cheesy and crunchy - Garlic Pepper Fried Zucchini: very refreshing and light fry that made it crispy outside and still moist on the inside. Paired well with ranch and honey mustard - Chicken Tender: the staple for picky eaters As for the adults, - Grilled Chicken with side of grilled asparagus: great piece of meat, nice sauce on top and cooked good! - Baked Potato Soup: not too salt, warm, and lots of potatoes! - 6 oz Sirloin: cooked correct to medium rare, tender, great flavor that paired well with mashed potatoes Great experience and good food!

Steak & Lobster Trio

Came in to Black Angus Steakhouse for thier Steak & Lobster Trio. Special was only availabe through the 4th of June so we hurried in to take advantage of the great price. Ambiance was festive with all the families celebrating graduations and dinning with family and friends. Wlaked in and we were greeted by employees at desk. They let us know it waould be a 20-30 minute wait. We agreed on the wait and took a seat. At the 30 minute mark asked if out table was ready and they said 15 minutes, well, I reminded them they said it would be a 30 minute wait and we are going on 40. She looked at our name on the list and said, oh, ok, this way and seated us. Didn't have a resevation so it was a 40 minute wait with graduation season in full force. Looked over the menu for drinks since we knew what we were going to order to eat. Went with the blackberry sage lemonade refresher wich was a bit tart but verry good. Ordered our special and requested our steaks medium wll and they wee cooked perfctly to our liking. The lobster was goos and the shrimp a tasty side but only sot 3 shrimp and on my grandsons plate he had 7 shrimp, what a jip. Left feeling satisfied and had no room for dessert.

Classic neighborhood steakhouse with nice portion and free warm store-made bread and butter! Our dining experience was not up to expectations though. The restaurant is a stand-alone building right behind Pier 1 Import and right next to Oakridge Mall. There are ample parkings. Walking into the front door, you'll be transported back to the old time with cowboy decorations, wooded panels and cute u-shaped booths. There was a bar area with TVs if you wanted to watch sports and enjoy a drink while doing that. I highly recommend you make a reservation before you come. I've dined here many times. Even when the store is empty and you are the only customers there at the waiting area, the staff will always tell you "The wait is 20 minutes or more." Even with reservation, my sister and I waited 10 minutes (again with an empty store and only us there). Our server tried her best but was absent minded. She kept forgetting my sister's margarita order and our request for extra bread. Food took forever to come out and did not have great presentation. We were there to try out their brunch menu this time. You can't pass a deal on $4 margarita and $5 mimosa! And those drinks were the highlight of our dining experience though they took forever to come as well and the restaurant was basically empty. We ordered shrimp & grit and lobster scrambles. The scrambles looked like something my 10 years old cousin made for breakfast. The shrimp & grit looked nicer. Taste wise, it was the opposite. I was surprised at how flavorful the lobster scrambles were and I could definitely taste the lobsters. The shrimp & grit was bland/tasteless and the garlic breads that came with it tasted old. The shrimps were fresh though. The free warm house-made bread was a lovely addition and we appreciated it every time we came here. Overall, it's a mixed experience for us. Not a bad place at all but there are lots of room for improvement.

The staff here are really nice and helpful too. They even give you complimentary containers of their salt rub. My partner and I specifically come here specifically for their Picanha steaks which are extremely high quality and affordable. They're great to cook using the reverse sear method or grill like they do at Brazilian steak houses. They taste fantastic with chimichurri or even just with flaky salt because of how buttery the steaks are on their own. The last time we were here, we got 10 steaks for around $150 and we seriously thought we'd be spending way more. Of course the cost will depend on what you, like the prime rib here is very expensive, but weigh out your options! I do think everything else here seems to be a great price for the quality compared to mass grocers. I'd highly recommend anyone to check out this shop!

Rather than dismissing our concerns, they took our feedback to heart and extended an invitation to return--one we decided to accept. Last night, we had dinner at Arya and it was the event of the day for my wife and me. From the moment we arrived, the entire team--from the receptionists to our server Serdar and the support staff--treated us as honored guests. Every interaction felt warm and genuine. The food was exceptional. We started with a mezze platter featuring delicious spreads, pastries, and felafel, followed by a mixed green salad that showcased some of the best burrata we've ever had, topped with tiny, sweet berries. Our main courses were equally memorable: a stunning Fesenjoon pomegranate-walnut chicken stew with a perfect balance of slightly sweet and tart, and a side of basmati rice studded with almonds, pistachios, berries, and orange peel. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, unique, and delicious. But what truly made the evening special was the service and genuine hospitality. Serdar, our server, was remarkably warm and attentive. We had fascinating conversations with him about his world travels, the uniqueness of Persian cuisine, and his recommendations for authentic Turkish breakfast and dinner spots (he's half Greek and half Turkish, which made his recommendations all the more authentic and personal). Mehdi introduced himself during the meal and checked in on us with a genuine interest in our experience, not just as a manager, but as someone who truly cares. When we mentioned we had no room for dessert, Mehdi surprised us with a beautifully presented pistachio-saffron ice cream served in an ornate bowl made of ice--a perfect final touch that felt like a work of art. This visit demonstrated that Arya is a restaurant that listens, cares, and delivers on its promise to provide not just excellent food, but genuine hospitality. We left feeling valued and delighted.

The hostess was very friendly and showed us to our table. We had a table inside, which was an intimate upscale casual area with a bar. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for a starter. It was so hard to pick one because everything on the menu sounds so good. Alas, I have a small appetite. The mushrooms were very tasty and a nice start to our meal. For entrees, we had the halibut and prime filet with a side of broccolini. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Drinks are on the pricey side- I had a Hero Old Fashioned and the Taylor Made, $20 each. They were nicely crafted, so worth the price. They brought out a Carmel Popcorn Sundae for my husband's birthday and even gave him a birthday card which I thought was a nice touch. Service was slow and steady. We had ample time to enjoy our food without feeling rushed, but never felt like our server forgot about us. We spent about 2 hours for dinner. Probably not a place to go if you're in a hurry. The restaurant had a nice visual ambience, but also felt casual as there was a lot of chatter, which isn't a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Our waiter was especially friendly and helped us decide what to order. I really wish I could remember his name, as I'm posting this a bit late, but he was a huge reason why we had a great experience! Here's a quick rating on the food itself: Stuffed mushrooms (3.5/5): This was recommended by the waiter as a favorite among patrons. The mushrooms weren't bad or anything, but for some reason, it gave me combination pizza vibes that I wasn't expecting. It was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again personally. Bone-in ribeye (5/5): an amazing cut that was cooked perfectly. Exactly what you would expect from a good steakhouse. The compound butter was fantastic! Bone-in apricot glazed pork chop (3.5/5): this one may hit different for different folks. The pork was perfectly cooked and juicy, but the apricot glaze was definitely a little too sweet for our palettes. If you're looking for something more savory, I might try something else. But hey, sweet might be your thing too! Caramel popcorn sundae (4.5/5): we got this one complimentary for being our special day, which was a really nice surprise! And it was a full serving! This one was obviously sweet, but surprisingly more subdued than it sounds, which was really nice! Overall, it was truly a memorable night with great food. And though some things didn't quite work for our palettes, I can totally see that it may for others--so that didn't impact my ratings because they were still good--just not for us. That said, the care that we received on our anniversary was what truly made me land on a 5/5 rating. Definitely coming back for future special occasions!

Disclaimer is this is just my experience.... As we sat down we were greeted just fine. Ordered a couple cocktails. The wife received hers and about 5-8 mins later I asked for mine. Whether or not it was true the bartender said it needs time to set. Well you could have said it takes time while my wife was waiting to sip on hers(mediocre communication). We then proceeded to order the scallop appetizer. While the presentation was good. The scallops were rubbery and overcooked. A few mins later we had to ask to order some entrees. Key words "had to ask". I got the hot stone trio. She got the lobster risotto. We decided on indulging a little. While we were waiting I asked for a wine list... 5 minutes later I asked again different server finally got the list. No revisit. The food came. Still looking to order wine about 8-10 mins in a different bartender came in and asked, we ended up getting a bottle wine. The food: the hot stone trio, for $230, mediocre cuts of supposedly A5 Japanese wagyu. They were out of the Sanuki and said we'll substitute with an Oregon beef. Just not worth the money. The lobster was ok, the risotto was already cooled off, seemed like it was sitting. So for 2 of us with a $700 plus meal the service was not on par with other similar establishments. Combine that with food that was definitely not worth the $$$$, it is not a return for me. Including hosting business here. Not sure if they judged us cause we weren't all dressed up, due to just coming from the local movie theater or what, but service was not there, unfortunate.

At many restaurants, that would be a problem. At Henry's, it becomes a reason to test the rest of the grill. We ordered the Porterhouse and the Sirloin, both medium rare. The Porterhouse was solid: balanced seasoning, clean grill flavor, no unnecessary tricks. A lot of restaurants can do a good Porterhouse because the cut already has drama -- bone, fat, tenderness, presentation. But Sirloin is different. Sirloin exposes the kitchen. Especially that strip of fat running along the edge. If the grill work is careless, that fat becomes chewy, greasy, or wasted. Henry's handled it beautifully. The meat stayed true medium rare, while the fat edge was properly rendered, lightly charred, and full of beef aroma. That is real steakhouse skill. Medium rare lean meat plus properly rendered sirloin fat is not automatic. It takes timing, fire control, and experience. The baked potato was simple and correct. The salad was classic old-school steakhouse style. Dark beer still feels like the right companion here. Henry's is not trying to become trendy. It is not chasing presentation. People come here to eat steak, drink beer, and trust the kitchen. Prime Rib is still the ritual. But this visit proved something important: Henry's is not only a Prime Rib place.
