This Black Angus Restaurant is in Escondido California at the west gate mall. This was my first time ever visiting this Black Angus. But only my 3rd time ever being at one. I want to start of by saying thank you Barbara and the staff you all did a amazing wonderful job. Professional and polite went above and beyond. And thank you district manager Ashley. If your in the area I highly recommend you trying this Black Angus. The steak tro was amazing and mouth watering and Delicious. The steak just melts in your mouth. The shrimp was perfect. The lobster Amazing. This was one of the best meals I had. Got the salad and broccoli. And a Dr pepper I was greeted when I came in. 5 stars Clean restaurant 5 stars. Customer service 5 stars Thank you Black Angus and the staff at the Escondido California Restaurant. I will different be back. If your

I came here alone for my birthday dinner and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When I arrived, the hostess tried to push me to sit at the bar, saying the wait for a table would be over 30 minutes. I chose to wait, and a table was available within 5 minutes, which made that interaction feel unnecessary. I ordered a filet mignon (medium-well) with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and a salad. The salad arrived first, but the fork was freezing cold, as if it had been stored in the refrigerator along with the salad, which was unpleasant. I then waited over 30 minutes for my steak. When it finally arrived, the steak was completely rare instead of medium-well, and both the steak and mashed potatoes were cold and dried out. To make matters worse, the waiter did not check on the table for about 20 minutes, by which point I was already done eating. The only positive note is that the meat itself seemed to be good quality; if you're looking for a rare steak, you might enjoy it. Overall, though, the service and execution were very poor, and it was not the birthday dinner experience I had hoped for.

There's a parking garage that's basically a five minute walk away and validate your parking for the first two hours for free so that is cool! We had reservations, and were quickly accommodated upon arrival. The host was extremely friendly and the environment had a feel good energy vibe. It was a beautiful day to eat on the patio. Everyone was having a great time except for one crying baby lol. But that happens! The food was absolutely delicious, but let me start with that lemon drop martini. Wow! Super delicious. I could've probably drank a dozen of them. The focaccia was cooked perfectly. I thought the Montanara we're going to be like little pizza dough bites that you dip in sauce, but they're actually three giant pizza bites with different sauces and toppings! Very surprising to see, but pleasantly surprised. They were delicious! A nice crispy crust on the outside and a soft fluffy inside. But the star of the show for me, was the pappardelle with the Buona Forchetta (V) SAUCE!!!! Cream, egg yolk, parmigano, spicy marinara, black pepper... and I added crumbled Italian sausage for the win. The vibes were on point, the food was amazing, the drinks were delicious, everything was a win. I would definitely recommend this Italian place to just about anybody. I'm hoping all the other locations are just as good!

Great atmosphere as well. Honestly you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu! I recently tried their gluten free focaccia bread and I have not stopped thinking about it because it was so good. My other favorite sauces in the past have been their carbonara, buona forchetta, and aglio olio e peperoncino. Also their lunch menu is delicious too!

We found free parking on the street a block or two down from the restaurant. Service (4/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. A couple of things stand out to me about their service. I was looking at the menu and was about to order. Someone behind me cut in line without asking if I was ready to order. The lady working noticed this and asked me to order first. Humanity still exists! They also check on your periodically even though this isn't true table service which is a nice touch. On the flip side, they did try and upsell me to add bacon bits to my dish which I was all for until I saw it was a $3.50 upcharge. I asked them to remove it. A little too steep. Ambiance (4/5): My type of restaurant. Casual with some charm. We sat at a table across from the bar. They have some cool decor, too. No complaints. Drinks (4/5): I had a beer flight because I often can't say no to a flight. I love the variety and being able to try new beers, especially when I'm traveling. While they don't have a huge selection, they had just enough beers that were interesting for me to take the plunge. Food (4/5): I did the country poutine which comes with fries, gravy, fried chicken bites, and green onions. I'm a sucker for loaded fries so I couldn't say no. Especially for this twist on a classic poutine. Generous portion size as I had hoped. A little more chicken would have been nice, but outside of that, very solid.

So, coming here for my wife's birthday for her favorite fare of rare steak seemed like a slam dunk. And yet, I'm left wondering if I either came on a bad day or this place has really fallen off in quality in the last few years. Let me start by saying that our server was fantastic. Sadly, I can't remember his name, but his attentiveness, demeanor, and knowledge base were truly the highlight of our time here. The restaurant itself is okay, a bit of a 60's to 70's vibe that just straddles that fine line between kitsch and tacky. It's small, cozy, with a good amount of lighting and comfortable seating. We were quickly seated and ordered without much issue. Our dinner started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts w/Smoked Bacon. They were well cooked, nice and tender, while still having a decent chew to the char on the outside. The flavors are very sweet, with the honey and balsamic vinegar coming very forward, without the parmesan cheese adding some much needed saltiness. It was pretty good, though I believe it would have been better with added feta for more sour and salty notes instead. I had the Seared Scallops, a special for the day. The scallops themselves were small, probably each about a $0.50 coin in size, as opposed to something a bit bigger than a silver dollar you'd normally see served; but, there were a good four on the plate instead of a typical three to make up for it. They were a bit over cooked, making them dry and cracked in most places instead of having a smooth crusted sear. Still, they were seasoned well, with a nice white wine sauce that gave them a good overall flavor and a small spoonful of crab roe on each for some added texture. The real star on my plate, however, was the vegetable puree that had notes of chickpea and red pepper ... quite delicious. My lovely wife had the 12oz Prime Rib, an apparent Monday night staple at Bellamy's. She was initially worried that it would be too much, as she generally can only eat a small amount before getting full. But, when her plate hit the table, those worries evaporated as what she received was much closer to an 8oz portion. It looked nice and rare, a good amount of pink; however, there was no crust on the edges. No real seasoning on the outside, no salt or pepper, no Italian herb mix, nothing to give any real flavor other than that basic beef. We brought this up with our server who noted that a few other patrons had complained that the prime rib was too salty and the chef's solution was just to eliminate seasoning altogether. Chef's, don't do this, keep making Prime Rib properly. People, learn how Prime Rib is prepared and how to eat it. The bite I took of it was terrible, making me think of how boiled beef might taste in England. The Horseradish on the side was alright in taste, but had very little of the bite that you would normally expect to it. The carrots were undercooked, with no caramelizing to them. And the potato was pretty basic. All in all, a terrible birthday dinner. For dessert, we were given a slice of White Chocolate Cheesecake. It wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't bad. It could have been served better by being closer to room temperature. I will say that whoever is in charge of selecting or ordering their fruit needs a raise, because the blueberries and strawberries on the plate were utterly fantastic. In the end, a very subpar dinner from a place that I was very much expecting more from. It's especially difficult since there's not that many places in and around the area where you can get a really good steak. Apparently, Bellamy's can't be trusted with that either. And to be fair, it's not a bad place to have dinner. The food was okay in most ways, pretty good in others. It's just not anywhere near what a good restaurant should be considering the cost. Looking at the older reviews, it's apparent Bellamy's is not what it once was. Hopefully, it can find its way back there in the future.

I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.

When chocolate cake cravings start popping up, Google suggested OutBack SteakHouse. I used to…read morefrequent the Clairemont location and have the app available on my phone, so I placed a to go order to sample the offerings of Outback Steakhouse. Easy to place, ready in 20 or so minutes, by 8:06 pm according to the app. Easy to find with lots of parking I pulled into the parking lot and parked at the Takeaway parking, with a dedicated counter specifically for mobile orders. Clairemont location had one similar and a server always came out to greet whomever pulled up to pickup an order. Well, the Takeaway parking is not in an ideal location for a server working the Takeaway to see if anyone pulled in. The sign instructs you to wait in the vehicle and someone will come out. And I arrived at 7:55 pm. No one came out. So I waited and waited. 8:06 pm arrived and still no one came out. So, I go in and there is no one at the Takeaway counter. I proceed to the main restaurant, and had to ask two workers about my predicament. One went into the kitchen to check on my order. Couple minutes later, out comes my order!!! The restaurant was not busy and I can understand if they were slammed, but, their Takeaway needs to improve their efficiency if they want the customer to have a good experience. The chocolate cake was okay. A little on the dry side. However, you can order a cocktail to go and I ordered the Guava-Rita. It was sweet and I think I was supposed to put it on ice. My wife loved it. It also came with a glass mason jar with the Outback Steakhouse logo on it. I'm trying the Mango-Rita next time. Yes, there will be a next time. Maybe dine-in.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and unfortunately left pretty disappointed. The food took way…read morelonger than expected to come out, and when it finally did, it wasn't cooked the way we ordered it. Not a great combo. To make matters worse, our waiter was rarely around, so by the time we even had a chance to flag someone down, the mood had already shifted. Nobody wants to spend half a birthday dinner trying to get someone's attention. We didn't want to make a fuss and ruin the vibe, so we just pushed through, but that's not really how a birthday dinner should go. I don't think the staff was trying to be careless, and I get that restaurants get busy. But between the wait, the wrong cook on the food, and the lack of table presence, it just fell flat for what was supposed to be a special night. Hoping this was an off night, because the potential is there, it just didn't show up for us.
