Happy Hour sliders. A deal at $7
Charles H.

Still a solid happy hour M-F until 7. Can be crowded, so a large group may not be a great idea. Queso dip is no longer a $4 chip-dip option, but the guacamole is really good and a good portion. Also enjoyed the smokey red salsa. Sliders are a great deal. I was expecting two for $7 and instead you get four! It is now in my rotation. Hadn't tried the Committed DIPA before, but it was enjoyable and a great buy at $5 for a tulip glass.

We had such a great lunch at BJ's. We had no idea how busy it was, but we realized it was because they have great lunch deals. For 3 people, the bill was about $45, because they had $15 specials that included a lunch entree and a small pizookie! Always lots of options at BJs, definitely recommend for lunchtime

New Orleans Jambalaya - with fettuccini
Mei T.

My friend and I came here for dinner after an afternoon of shopping. We ordered a jambalaya with fettuccini and ribs with tangy slaw and roasted veggies. Both dishes were tasty and the portion size was large, so we were stuffed! We didn't have a reservation, but with the spacious seating, the hostess walked us to our table within minutes. Service was quick and friendly. We enjoyed our evening!

Started using the points system since we are always here. We like the seasonal pizookies the butterfinger one is our favorite. The strawberry was okay. The Cookie Monster was sad literally just dyed blue and overcooked but probably because we came on a Tuesday and it was packed but still they should have cooked it right. I like looking at their wall of beers. Happy hour is a good time to go would recommend the amber oasis & Jeremiah red

I enjoy a good family friendly restaurant and BJ's is always a great place to come with kids. The perfect place to come for lunch. The food was delicious and a friendly staff. Great place to talk and enjoy some drinks.

chicken Bone-In Wings

My fiancé, his friends, and I went to BJ's tonight to celebrate his birthday, and unfortunately it turned into a really disappointing experience. The customer service was just okay overall. Our server took a long time checking on us and also took forever to bring the check, even after we asked kindly. The biggest issue was the food. My fiancé ordered wings, and when he bit into one, it was pink and bloody inside. One of his friends ordered a chicken pasta and found a piece of paper in his food. At that point, it completely ruined everyone's appetite. The server did apologize and even mentioned that other people had been complaining about raw chicken recently, which honestly was really concerning to hear. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, the server offered him a free pizookie, which we appreciated, but when the check finally came, we were still charged for it. We even had to ask another waiter for help because our server never came back. We understand the restaurant was busy, but overall the experience was upsetting and disappointing, especially for a birthday celebration.

Great vibe, waitress Madeline provided outstanding service. Sat at bar area to get good view of the three big screens. Food was good, drinks came out on time, Pizookie . Will return for date night. Compliments to the BARRRRRR!

Nutty Brunette

As a BJ's Beer Club member, I really enjoy knowing that where ever I go, I can enjoy a beer and a good appetizer. Today I was on my way back from visiting clients in Baja to the San Gabriel Valley when I decided to get out of traffic. i stopped here and had a Nutty Brewnette and the pan fried Pot Stickers. Always delicious and always a great deal during Happy Hour. Service was great and like the design if very typical BJ's. This location still has the beer taps out front. I have seen that many BJ locations have removed the front taps.

Tylee W.

We ordered the margarita flight and BJ's version of a triple dipper. Everything was great. I wish there was another entree instead of chips and dip and mozzarella sticks, but over I would still order this. The monkey bread is in TO DIE FOR! It was so good! Not as sweet as I thought it would be, and I love it more than the Pizookies. Service is always great. We love sitting at the bar and having that ambience.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

I have seen others with their dogs ( leashed of course) in the past but call ahead to check just in case the policy for animals has changed.

What's the best pizookie?

Salted caramel + the original!!

Do they have a private room for reservations for maybe 50 or so people?

Yes

I heard they offer Happy Hour on weekends during day games. Is that true?

Yes...I believe they are still offering HH pricing during any NFL game.

Is the patio dog-friendly?

Yes, I've brought my dog (and leash trained cat) and sat on the patio.

The staff was very warm and welcoming, though throughout the evening it definitely felt like they may have been short staffed and stretched a bit thin. Since we were headed to a movie after dinner, we decided to keep things light and share appetizers plus dessert. We tried the Fried Shishito Peppers, Veggie Potstickers, Grilled Broccolini, Rosemary Garlic Fries, Whipped Burrata, Garlic Noodles, Salmon Poke Tacos, and Lamb Chops. Overall, the food was decent but nothing especially memorable. The lamb chops were cooked nicely but could have used more seasoning, and the poke tacos were tasty but tiny -- literally about the size of my pinky for each taco. We were disappointed they had sold out of both the Crème Brûlée Bread Pudding and the Budino, which were the desserts we originally wanted to try. Thankfully, the Butter Toffee Cake completely saved dessert for us -- absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, a cute spot with good vibes for a girls night, but the food itself didn't quite live up to the hype for us.

Well, that was disappointing…read more.. This place gets very good reviews, including from many an elite. So, coming here for my wife's birthday for her favorite fare of rare steak seemed like a slam dunk. And yet, I'm left wondering if I either came on a bad day or this place has really fallen off in quality in the last few years. Let me start by saying that our server was fantastic. Sadly, I can't remember his name, but his attentiveness, demeanor, and knowledge base were truly the highlight of our time here. The restaurant itself is okay, a bit of a 60's to 70's vibe that just straddles that fine line between kitsch and tacky. It's small, cozy, with a good amount of lighting and comfortable seating. We were quickly seated and ordered without much issue. Our dinner started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts w/Smoked Bacon. They were well cooked, nice and tender, while still having a decent chew to the char on the outside. The flavors are very sweet, with the honey and balsamic vinegar coming very forward, without the parmesan cheese adding some much needed saltiness. It was pretty good, though I believe it would have been better with added feta for more sour and salty notes instead. I had the Seared Scallops, a special for the day. The scallops themselves were small, probably each about a $0.50 coin in size, as opposed to something a bit bigger than a silver dollar you'd normally see served; but, there were a good four on the plate instead of a typical three to make up for it. They were a bit over cooked, making them dry and cracked in most places instead of having a smooth crusted sear. Still, they were seasoned well, with a nice white wine sauce that gave them a good overall flavor and a small spoonful of crab roe on each for some added texture. The real star on my plate, however, was the vegetable puree that had notes of chickpea and red pepper ... quite delicious. My lovely wife had the 12oz Prime Rib, an apparent Monday night staple at Bellamy's. She was initially worried that it would be too much, as she generally can only eat a small amount before getting full. But, when her plate hit the table, those worries evaporated as what she received was much closer to an 8oz portion. It looked nice and rare, a good amount of pink; however, there was no crust on the edges. No real seasoning on the outside, no salt or pepper, no Italian herb mix, nothing to give any real flavor other than that basic beef. We brought this up with our server who noted that a few other patrons had complained that the prime rib was too salty and the chef's solution was just to eliminate seasoning altogether. Chef's, don't do this, keep making Prime Rib properly. People, learn how Prime Rib is prepared and how to eat it. The bite I took of it was terrible, making me think of how boiled beef might taste in England. The Horseradish on the side was alright in taste, but had very little of the bite that you would normally expect to it. The carrots were undercooked, with no caramelizing to them. And the potato was pretty basic. All in all, a terrible birthday dinner. For dessert, we were given a slice of White Chocolate Cheesecake. It wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't bad. It could have been served better by being closer to room temperature. I will say that whoever is in charge of selecting or ordering their fruit needs a raise, because the blueberries and strawberries on the plate were utterly fantastic. In the end, a very subpar dinner from a place that I was very much expecting more from. It's especially difficult since there's not that many places in and around the area where you can get a really good steak. Apparently, Bellamy's can't be trusted with that either. And to be fair, it's not a bad place to have dinner. The food was okay in most ways, pretty good in others. It's just not anywhere near what a good restaurant should be considering the cost. Looking at the older reviews, it's apparent Bellamy's is not what it once was. Hopefully, it can find its way back there in the future.

Service was great too - waiter was Latino and had an unusual name - Uberto? He's been there before and was great. Cocktail: I tried a Greenpoint, which is a take on a Brooklyn, which I guess is a take on a manhattan. It was served on the rocks - it was missing at first a little something but as it got more chilled, I think it was just warm at first, which was a little strange. But I liked it. Sourdough boule: back to fabulous this time. Very yummy in every way. Market salad: always huge and enough for 2 to split for $15-ish. This time it had berries, blue cheese and some yummy dried pears. I ate up almost every morsel. Got the striped bass too, which is a good dish. I'm not going to say it's the most spectacular thing you'll ever eat - and the parsnip puree and cauliflower were a little boring - but the fish was huge and cooked well. And I enjoyed sneaking my sweetie's fingerling potatoes that came with his beef medallions instead. He enjoyed that also - he just thought that the blanket of blue cheese on the top was a little too much. Oh - and the real reason this is a 5 star visit this time in addition to the generally good food and drink & great patio? They have live music every Sat. night - and this time it was Daniel Newheiser who was a ton of fun. Often they have great vocalists doing covers of the Eagles or Olivia Rodrigo or whatever in creative ways. But Newheiser does standards - with very creative arrangements. Bio says he has a jazz degree from USC - and it was pretty darn awesome and different from the last time we heard him a few years ago. I think when compared to a place that their main menu item is a lobster roll, this restaurant charges more. Nonetheless it was pretty good and definitely filling. Seasoning was minimal so if you think you're getting a crab boil type taste, you're not. It came with fries which honestly aren't needed but they are nice to have. I also had the crème brûlée which never disappoints. I was there at quite a busy time with a somewhat larger group so service wasn't the quickest but it was complaint worthy. Staff is pretty accommodating to requests. The entire group didn't really have any complaints about the food. The 3 is based on price and being a little uncomfortable in the hot sun. Our first visit in January we ordered the Lamb Chops which were amazing and cooked medium rare as is proper for Lamb Chops. The Salmon was cooked perfectly. Not over cooked. Skin was crispy. I cannot express the flavor in words. The second time we ordered the special 3-course prix fixe. For appetizers, the lobster bisque was sultry and the grilled shrimp prawns can with two huge prawns with roasted vegetables. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. It is easy for restaurants to make thick cut pork chop dry. Not at Avant! We also ordered the Beef Wellington (a special that was not on the menu). We didn't realize the Beef Wellington was sized for two people, hence the huge up charge. Beef Wellington was cooked medium rare which how its supposed to be prepared! The crust was more like a pipe crust than puff pastry. The pate is mushroom with swiss chard. I need to address another Yelp User's review of this restaurant complaining about the Beef Wellington: 1) If you dont like your beef medium rare, DO NOT order the Beef Wellington. Ask Chef Gordon Ramsey! Medium is considered over cooked in a Beef Wellington. The meat gets dry and tough. 2) The Beef Wellington is a special (typically on the weekend) with limited quantities and is not on the menu all the time. I heard the restaurant manager let other tables know the limited quantities and he needed to know ASAP if a diner was considering the Beef Wellington. 3) Please also note that Beef Wellington takes to 30 to 40 minutes because there is a 15 to 20 minute rest time. So be sure to order appetizers also to tie you over! The service here is fantastic! Blaine was great! The atmosphere is nice in dark woods. Just the right lighting.
