Dinner of my brother's choice! We have always come here for breakfast but never lunch or "dinner" I ordered breakfast and a BLT to go (vegan on both) I tried the new (to me) Stuffed French Toast. It's Vegan eggs, Vegan Mozz (Selfish cow brand) and Vegan sausage inside French Toast and it comes with Butter and syrup. WOW. fantastic! I told our wonderful as usual server Amber to make sure they keep this one on the menu and to remind me next time I am in, this is what I want to order, it was PHENEMOMAL My brother ordered the classic breakfast (Non Vegan eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and loved it. We just love this place and Amber is always a delight to see and talk to. Its always clean, comfortable, we always end up in our favorite booth, I might ask if they can just rename the booth--Terry's booth. :P I have not tried the BLT yet but it looks so good and I am sure it won't disappoint! We Tried Black and Blue Diner this morning right when they opened, and it did not disappoint. This place has been on our bucket list for sometime now and we are so happy we finally got try them. We actually had the place to ourselves at first, but it quickly filled up--which makes sense because it's clearly a local favorite with lots of regulars coming in. We ordered the Jackpot Deluxe Breakfast and the chilaquiles, and both were great choices. I asked for extra crispy bacon and most places disappoint me as they don't know what extra crispy is but this place nailed it!!!! It was so good. The eggs, diner potatoes and bacon were great. Pancakes which we shared were also delicious. The chilaquiles were outstanding according to my fiancé. They give you the option of red or green sauce or the option for half and half which is what he chose. The salsa verde was good and the right blend of tomatillos, green chiles and everything else. It was not overly spicy but just the right amount of kick to let you know there was some heat in there. The salsa Roja was smoky and flavorful as well. It complimented everything else. The steak was juicy, seasoned to perfection however it was slightly overcooked but it was so good my fiancé didn't realize it until he was almost done eating it. lol. He didn't even use any cholula because he said it was that good, but if you want an extra kick, It is there on the table if you need it. They do not skimp on the ingredients as even the coffee was the brand chock full o' nuts Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were solid--definitely a satisfying start to the day. The menu is surprisingly extensive with tons of options, including a great gluten-friendly section and plenty of choices for vegan guests. It really feels like there's something for everyone here. The service really stood out. Our server Amber was awesome--super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and the rewards program which we signed up for just off her recommendation and knowledge alone. She even recommended her personal favorites which made ordering easy. The diner itself is not super huge but if you go there early enough, you may avoid the crowds, but let's face it, the ambiance is apart of the experience as well. It's bright, clean, and welcoming. Overall, this is a great spot whether you're a regular or just passing through. This place is a 10/10, we highly recommend and We'll 100% be back. Next time we will take the opportunity to look around a little more at the decor, accolades and magazine articles they have been featured in. So many great plant based options! I've never found a diner in town that I can get a full breakfast/lunch with classic options but vegan. Fast, friendly service. Went here with a friend for breakfast and it was disappointing. I ordered the pastrami swirl reuben with onion rings, and my friend ordered steak and eggs. The onion rings were great. They were crispy, and well seasoned. The pastrami was okay. The steak's texture and flavor were off. The coffee was weak, which was a letdown for a breakfast spot. I've had this place bookmarked for a while. We came here a little after 11am on a Saturday and it was prob the wrong timing. We were one of the last to be seated after their morning rush so it took over 30 min to get our food. It's a really good diner and they offer some unique items. It's small inside and a little bit icky. The booth we were in had seen much better days. My husband got their chilaquiles and grits. I got their chicken Caesar salad sandwich. We were content with our food and our server was pleasant. I wanted to order one of their cakes but they were all out. They have a nice selection dessert options. The vegan omelette is SO GOOD. I think Black & Blue Diner has the BEST vegan omelette I've ever had. Stopped by Black & Blue Diner during our roadtrip from California to Utah and we had our dog with us. It was HOT outside so we couldn't leave her in the car alone but we called ahead and asked if the diner had any outdoor seating (which they do not) but after confirming our dog is super well-behaved and doesn't bark, they saved a corner table for us to sit inside the diner with her and even gave us a water bowl for our dog. The staff is super friendly. The food is delicious. There's a nice big parking lot. And although not fully vegan, they have a large vegan menu. Will definitely be back the next time we're in Vegas! read more

Diner ambiance... Quick service for ordering. Was actually cool to see one if the servers enjoying a plate of food, so it took a little of the anxiety off the top for trying a new place. We had the patty melt and a pastrami sandwich. One with fries, the other with onion rings. Seasoned salt seemed to be the go-to for all dishes. The fries were crisp yet soft on the inside. The onion rings were crispy (a couple were overdone, but I chalked that up to the universe telling me I didn't need to eat them all lol), and great sweet onion flavor inside, and dusted with seasoned salt (which I probably could have done without) - good nonetheless. Patty melt was good - but seemed to have spots of heavy seasoned salt with the next bite without any, so I suppose there was some balance. Good overall. I worked in NYC for years and one of my favorite breakfast items was the fried egg & cheese on a hard roll. However, I have found it nearly impossible to locate a similar sandwich on the west coast. When I saw the menu for Black & Blue Diner included a NY style breakfast sandwich, plus a ton of vegetarian/vegan options I had to go. I ordered the NY breakfast sandwich with vegan "bacon," and diner potatoes. Absolute perfection! Damian, our server was friendly and pleasant. The blue decor has a calming effect. If you grew up going to diners on the weekends as a treat for the week, this spot is for you! They have your typical diner food and a vegan menu as well. The whole family can eat good! Food - I tried a Vegan Secret Menu item - California Omelet . The smokiness from the THRILLING! Bakon bits were so good. The omelet was fluffy and the vegan mozzarella was melty and gooey. You get a ton of food too, so I was able to eat off of it twice. 5/5 stars Drinks - I got a standard cup of coffee with oat milk. It was solid. 4/5 stars Decor - It was black and blue throughout and a standard diner setup with table and booth options. It felt like a a true neighborhood diner. This is absolutely hands down , my favourite diner! The vegan food is outstanding. As is the regular food according to my friends! The staff are amazing too.You have to try the vegan chikin and waffles.And the vegan omelette is a fave too! It's a 45 minute drive from my house, but I'd prob drive much longer for one of their breakfasts. Give it a try.I promise you'll love it! And fyi, I didn't get free food for this review! On one of our last days in the Vegas area we set out and tried the Black & Blue Diner because it had a vegan menu and appeared to be a local diner. The service was exceptional, Al was our server and he deserves all the praise, great attitude and you could just tell a very hard worker. Food wise, I ordered the vegan chilaquiles with vegan steak and they were not my favorite. I was expecting spicy chilaquiles but the salsa tasted like grocery bought salsa and the steak, texture wise and just visually, was not appealing. Love the French Toast burger we had, it was beyond ahhhhmazing and our servers both times have been terrific!! Everyone there is friendly and makes you feel like family. The only problem that we have is that we want to try all the other great things on the menu, but it's hard to tear ourselves away from the French Toast burger haha. A group of three of us tried Black and Blue Diner this morning for breakfast. As the only vegan of the bunch, I'm always a little nervous when going to places that serve both but after reading other reviews here and taking a peek at the menu I knew we had to try it. I am so glad I did! The food was amazing (non vegans ate the California omelette and the stuffed French toast- both of which have vegan options, the vegan had the bakon and cheese omelette with grits and fell in love!) the coffee was amazing, strong but not a bitter blend at all. Portion sizes were great, and the prices were very fair. Damian was our server and he was awesome! It was pretty busy and he managed to be attentive and friendly, all of the staff seemed wonderful. I really don't have anything negative to say beyond not having room for a second breakfast, there are so many vegan options picking just one was difficult. Found this spot on Yelp. Checked the menu and saw that this spot had a vegan menu. Really appreciated the vegan menus for lunch, breakfast, and dessert! What a plus!!! Our server, Damian was so great and super friendly. He made sure our table was taken care of. He checked in on us from time to time to make sure we were okay. I ordered the vegan beef tips that came with hashbrowns and grits. Not a fan of the beef texture, but liked the hashbrown, and liked that the beef tips were cooked with onions and mushrooms. The menu said toast or grits, and they didn't allow me to swap so I ended up with grits. They forgot my side of grits so luckily I remembered to ask for it before we left. It was packed to go. That is what can be improved would be allowing us to change the sides without a fee because it would be wasting food if we don't like the sides. Anyway, portion sizes were great. I also ordered a side of fries and they were delicious. My non vegan family had the tuna fish sandwich (tuna / mayo / lettuce / tomato / choice of toasted bread (white, wheat, sourdough) / choice of side), jackpot deluxe breakfast (2 pancakes / 2 eggs / choice of meat and chose sausage patty / hashbrown) , and omelet. My family liked their food and the portion was good for them. They ate everything. Place was big. 2 gender neutral restrooms. Small lot. $5 off your $30 or $40 check on Tuesdays - check in with your server because one ad says $30 and another says $40. There weren't many people dining in on a Tuesday but people came and went for pick up. Check out their reward system. Every 200 points you get $$ off your check. I can't recommend this diner enough. My book group goes there once a month. The breakfast menu is varied and unique as well as standard. I like their omelets. They also have lunch. A few of us try different food items each week. The food is always delicious. Inside, it is cozy black and white . The staff is helpful and friendly. The servers know my name and my group. I've taken other people and everyone loves it. They give you points for your meal and when you have enough, you get a discount on your next meal. You also get a free dessert on your birthday. Try it.
