Two other companies came out with different prices and proposals, and one actually did some roofing work, but the water kept dripping. It is hard to find honest, helpful contractors but they definitely are both.

The crew did an awesome job--not just on the roof itself, but also with cleanup. I walked the property afterward and didn't find a single nail left behind. Justin went above and beyond, checking in with me on a Saturday during the install to make sure everything was going smoothly. Then after a storm rolled through, he followed up again just to see if everything held up and if I was happy with the work. You don't see that kind of service too often. I've already told friends and family about them and will keep recommending them to anyone who needs a roofer.

Where do I even begin? If 'disaster' was a roofing company, it would be this one. I hired them to…read morereplace my shingles, and it's been a nightmare from start to finish. First, they showed up two days late, no call, no explanation. Then, the crew was incredibly unprofessional - loud music, smoking on the job, and I swear I saw one of them take a nap in my backyard. The quality of the work is appalling. Shingles are uneven, some are missing, and I've already found nails scattered all over my lawn. I've got a leak in my attic now, which I didn't have before. When I called to complain, they were incredibly rude and dismissive, blaming 'weather' (it was a sunny day). Avoid this company like the plague unless you want a leaky roof and a headache.

Nick was responsive and gave us a thorough quote noting that everything would be done to manufacturer specifications, which gave us peace of mind. The team was professional, courteous, and did a great job. Nick did walkthroughs before and after the job to ensure the project manager understood our areas of concern and the job was completed to spec. When we found a couple minor items (like caulking around light fixtures), a tech handled it quickly and even tried to resolve issues with our (old and fragile) fence even though not entirely attributable to the siding install. We would recommend Thunder Bay to anyone!

Landmark did an extensive assessment of the roof in Kensington, submitted a report to our insurance company, a few more steps and reports as well as video to present and our insurance company replaced our roof for free. We paid out of pocket for new gutters and facia but saved approx. $6,500 for a new roof. There work is seamless and end results are beautiful. We did this based on an excellent experience in our previous home in Annapolis, MD where they did a large basement renovation project for it. They helped us install a beverage refrigerator in a wet bar, put recessed lighting into multiple rooms, and installed ceiling fans. The work was extremely well done. We also had them do all the work while we were away and we came home to the work 100% finished and the project areas spotlessly clean. During the entire process our project manager communicated clearly via email and text messages about our project. Their communication and professionalism is unmatched. If you are looking for a contractor to assist with a renovation, remodel, or addition, I'd highly recommend you contact Bohan Contracting!

SLOPPY and INEPT…read more Run, do not walk AWAY from Bohan Contracting! For 2.5 years we have been dealing with this inept, insulting, incompetent company. According to several subcontractors, Bohan was a good company initially, but they became greedy and took on too many projects. According to subcontractors in the area we have consulted with, superior Annapolis contractors refuse to work for them, in a few cases calling out their "designer" Jaime Esposito in particular. Bohan parked a huge dumpster in our driveway, insisted that we be out of our house in early January 2022, though the work on our house didn't start for MONTHS. Bohan's trucks from other parts of town would arrive nightly to dump their garbage. Bohan's workers told us they weren't allowed to dispose of refuse in the other neighborhoods in which they were working. That speaks to the consistent mistreatment of us and another family on our street who hired Bohan, judging our neighborhood to be not worth prioritizing. They are still not finished with either project! They've left us twisting in the wind -- but have had no problem collecting money from us. We were told we would be out of our house for 5 - 6 months and it turned out to be almost 16 months! The cost was almost TWICE their quote. Bohan's workers barely spoke English, were sloppy, didn't measure anything and were completely unskilled. On one visit to the site, they had to find a child who spoke English to even be able to communicate with us. Every subcontractor Bohan hired appeared to be the bottom of the barrel. Every day we find mistakes and poor workmanship. It was, and continues to be, the most depressing and disappointing experience we've ever had. They refused to compensate us for any of the aggravation they put our family through. We ended up sleeping in the workshop of our carpenter son, who was unable to work for the entire 15+ months we were forced to stay there. The architect/engineer DAMES Design, who we had great hopes for, left out items such as the water heater, found egregious errors in Bohan's work (including going over her head to hire a different engineer) but then told us WE had to pay her an extra $2000+ for dealing with it! Avoid DAMES Design! Advice before renovating your house -- HAVE A LAWYER on hand to read the contract first and to be ready for litigation.

In terms of overall satisfaction, I rate them the highest for any contracting service for my home that I have used. A friend of mine has used him for his current and previous homes roofing. First, they are low pressure, helpful, and thorough. They took care of a problem on my old roof four years ago by writing a letter to my insurance company that I had no structural problems with my old roof it was just algae making my roof look like it had depressed some areas form the air in need of repair. They did not charge me for this so when it was time to re-roof my house they had built a lot of good will. In August, Robert Hamel, the owner, inspected my current roof, and attic explained my options well including improving the poor ventilation in my soffits. He also inspected my gutters for wear and proper slope. Second, they are a small local business that has been in business since at least the early 80s so you get personalized service. Bradley Company is not an out of the area company that hires a lot of temporary people when they get busy that may not be as good as their regular workers. The foreman on the job Tony has worked with Robert for years. You have much confidence that they will be around in the long-run and that their business and customer base is local. Third, best price and warranty. I got estimates from five roofers and they were the best both in terms of price and installation quality. Robert Hamel is a four star shingle master roofer and he gave me a 15 year workmanship warranty on my CertainTeed roof. No other offer that I received included a 15 year workmanship warranty. I checked with the Maryland home improvement commission and they have not had a complaint since 2005. The record of no complaints for 12 years with excellent personal attention, pricing, and workmanship shows me an exemplary record of customer satisfaction. A great company to do business with.
