Over the last 1.5 years, we have used American Remodel to replace 1 French door, 7 windows, install new tile floor in a bathroom, and now they've gutted and are renovating our entire (1980s) kitchen. It's now been almost 2 years since we initially had them come out for an estimate on the new door and we haven't hired anyone else to do projects around our house since. We've worked closely with Robb and Ernesto. They're both very friendly, communicative and trustworthy. The timing of some of these projects can be longer than we may anticipate due to supply issues/special orders, etc. Robb has been great about keeping us in the loop and responding to messages or phone calls. I can't say enough good things about this company. A windstorm blew over my chimney, ruined my roof, destroyed my bedroom ceiling and all contents, and flooded and destroyed my hardwood floors. They were so quick and responsive, helped me navigate my insurance claims, and did a fantastic job on both my interior and exterior. Thank you Ryan!! Outstanding job. We had our roof replaced and added new larger gutters with gutter guards. Could not be happier. Ryan met with my insurance company rep to verify that everything was true and correct, the insurance company independently walked the roof and agreed with the assessment. The new shingles were ordered, delivered, and installed all within three days! Incredible! The roofing crew was fast and cleaned up the entire work area when finished. I actually give them 5 stars for the quality of work and the price. But only 1 star for management and customer care. So the result is a 3 star review. They installed a new patio door for us. The result is terrific - both in the quality of the door and the workmanship. It's been through several hard rains now, and no problems whatsoever. So the problem is this: during the above project I only ever received feedback about the status of the material order, estimated dates to start the project, etc. by reaching out to them. They were completely reactive as opposed to proactive.....in other words, they never took the initiative to contact me with updates. I lay this criticism mostly at the feet of the sales rep, Ryan Patrick, who was my primary point of contact. I often had to level 2 or 3 messages for Ryan before he would respond. And to be clear, I was not pinging him daily or weekly - this was once every 5 or 6 weeks. In spite of that, they did such a good job on installing the door, I wanted to have them do another one on our lower level. So I reached back out to Ryan - twice, with no response. Then I used the contact form on the company website - no response. Then I sent them an email directly - no response. So I guess business is good enough that they do not want/need to consider us as ongoing customers. It would have been nice to get some kind of feedback - even if it was "hey, we aren't interested in bidding your work." Instead there has only been silence for the following weeks. I don't know at what level of management/leadership this disappointing level of customer service originates; but it's been aggravating enough for me to take the time to write this review. read more

Very unscrupulous and shady. Highly unethical. Had a very bad experience with this outfit that attempted to submit a fraudulent estimate to my insurance company for twice the amount to repair my roof. Beware of this guy Bob. Will be reporting them to the Attorney General's Office. They will try to take advantage of you if you let them. I obtained 3 estimates to replace my roof. One was $13,700, one was $14,100 and the other was $16,000. This company sent an estimate for almost $30k! I kept asking for a written estimate and he wouldn't send one for the longest. Finally sent it and I was like there is no way that I'm going along with this! Stay away. Very unethical. read more

This company is a scam, they came to my house and offered to redo our roof. After having it inspected by them We made an appointment for them to come do our roof and they never showed up. After not showing up, they tried to scam our insurance company. Our insurance company notified us and told us not to do any business with them. Then the company tried to take us to court for breach of contract after not showing up for multiple scheduled appointments. American remodeling has done this to multiple people, and they will try to do the same thing to you. Protect yourself and DO NOT work with this company, they will try and take you for your money! read more

Hello, I had to take a moment to write a well deserved and outstanding review for American Remodeling Corporation. I am a do-it-yourself homeowner that likes to take on many projects. When I do need a contractor, I do a lot of research and select the one I feel most comfortable with. I was referred to American Remodeling Corporation by a neighbor that had work done by them. I did a lot of research on them using various online sources and as a result felt very comfortable selecting them to do the work. By the way, they are a member of the Better Business Bureau and have an A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau! This says a lot about this company. So far American Remodeling has done some MAJOR work for us: installed our new roof, painted interior rooms, repaired our fence and fixed our shutters. They will surely be our go to company for future projects or referrals. My first interaction and experience with American Remodeling was with Roy. He is one of their salespeople and professional consultant. From the moment I spoke with Roy, I felt very comfortable with his positive attitude and demeanor. He was very helpful and listened very well to our needs. He is very patient salesman and is very nice person. He took a lot of time surveying our needs and offering us the right solution. He also communicates very well with the customer throughout the entire job from start to finish. He checks in on the crews and also the customer to make sure that everything is ok. Roy also worked very well with our insurance company. He walked our roof with the insurance adjuster to point out areas that were damaged or comprised. Through his diligence and attention to detail our insurance company was able to see the wind damage clearly and agreed that they would support a claim and help with the new roof. He really advocated for us and this was a huge relief! Now on to the actual work. This is another critical area that I think sets them apart from other contractors that we have dealt with. We worked with three of their crews for our different projects because we had a lot of work done. We had the pleasure to work with Mark in the office. He helped us schedule the projects for times that worked for us. He even visited during one of the projects to help get the crew started and ensure everything was ok. We also communicated with Mark throughout the work and he was very attentive and helpful. Each crew that we worked with was very good. They were very clean and careful as they worked. They do a lot of prep work to protect the rest of your house as they work. This is especially important when they were doing the roof and interior painting. They also did a fantastic job cleaning up the job site. It really feels good to have a crew do major work and you as a homeowner feel comfortable that everything will be done right. I am very observant as crews do work in the house. I must say that each crew took the time to make sure that their work was done right the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by how much pride the crew took in their work and craftsmanship. The work crews were very conscientious and communicated with me very well. In conclusion, we had a great Experience with American Remodeling Corporation and highly recommend them. These folks put a roof on my elderly mother's town house and "wrapped" the wooden exterior trim surfaces of the house with an aluminum/vinyl composite material. They were reasonably priced, did excellent work, were very responsive, and left a neat job site. They also repaired the window screens that had been mildly damaged during the installation. Bob and his colleagues worked well with us and with my mother's insurer. A couple of her neighbors even said that the nearly 20-year old house "looked like a new house." We needed to get some insurance repair work done and received a couple recommendations for American Remodeling, among others. Initially, they seemed like a very professional company. The project estimator/salesman came out and surveyed the work and we decided to contract with them over 3 other companies; big mistake. They had us waiting a long time for various things and even the follow repair work was painful. As the previous reviewer said, we had to e-mail and call a lot to get things moving. As a sort of saving grace, they sent a couple guys to fix one of the most glaring issues that we had and these guys were top notch. Hence, the two stars they received were for the two guys they sent. Now if only I could peel these guys away from their company and refer them to a better contracting outfit. This is what happens when companies think they are untouchable because of the amount of business out there. I am going to make sure that everyone I know steers clear. read more
