Went there in a pretty busy night and was seated in five minutes (great)!!! Then everything went downhill from there. Waitress had no idea what she was doing, took forever for food and drinks to come out. Our food came out and my husband got the pickle seasoning wings. There was no seasoning on them. The rest of my family got steaks and they were also not seasoned and Luke warm. The 4 of us got one drink, one entree each, and all shared a desert... the bill was well over $200 for subpar everything. I patronized here just before 11 a.m. for a Christmas luncheon. We were seated just after a few minutes, waiting for the area near the overhead doors to be set up for our large party. I had the avocado egg rolls for an appetizer, which were delicious. My entree was a California chicken avocado club sandwich that was very good and had lots of large slices of avocado. The restaurant has a large open layout with flattop and table seating. It has clean silverware and cloth napkins. Alissa did a fantastic job as our server, providing drinks, refills, and timely food service. Prices were a little higher for items but still competitive. I will return. read more

I'm giving higher stars that I want to here for one main reason. The bar staff here is the absolute best!!! Always an attentive, fun, happy bunch who keeps the drinks coming. Can't go wrong at the bar. The food: hmmmm. Well we struggle with it here and will normally eat before we arrive, because we want something good and not overpriced and lacking quality which is what we have found at BJs. We have tried the steak, hamburger, fries, various sides, pot stickers, and sliders. The best we have found are the pot stickers (which are the frozen kind but still good) and the sliders. Came here on a whim as it was packed but it was not great. We were seated pretty quickly and the service was fine. They were out of two of the items we tried to order, one which the waiter said the bartender noted they had but couldn't locate. Our food was not good. I ordered a caesar salad -- but between the dressing and the cheese, it was terrible and seemed super cheap. I couldnt finish it. The chicken on my salad was also lukewarm and flavorless. The dish right next to it,10 wings (Lemon Peppered dry rubbed) was $15.95. The four slimly cut pieces of celery were what adorned the plate. ($21.20 for that). Even McDonalds gives you more fries for less. And better. My wife and I ordered this food after we arrived around 1230 on a pretty Saturday afternoon after shopping. I begged to go the restaurant because the past few times (in other cities) I've had extraordinary service and food. The Jambalya was outstanding. The burgers were great and just about every dish in the big bad book of a menu was better than expected. UNTIL yesterday. To be sure, this LOOKED like the same restaurant. We walked in, waited for a host to come. Couple minutes. We were attracted to the patio and asked if we could set out there. She looked out and said "I'm not sure, not many free seats and only one server". So she conversed with other servers in front of us as we stood and waited to see if they would take us out there. We counted at least 4-5 tables free. Meanwhile the hostess started to address other people in back of us. It was an odd experience. They agreed to place us there and we set as our server Savannah introduced herself. She was a gem, and probably the best part of the lunch. Lunchtime on a Saturday will always be busy. Especially in a place like B.J.'s. We ordered 2 different beers and they were brought by a gentleman and waited on the meals. Honestly, when the meals came, I thought it was a joke. I couldn't believe how stingy a portion they would serve. At the prices they commanded. And we all know the restaurant would want you to pay at least 20%. But step UP. No one thought the portion was off. No one asked if we were happy. In fact, I left the fry plate untouched because I couldn't believe it. Then I took a photo. Then I finally gave up and accepted this was it. What a let down. My wife has ordered a burger well done. And boy, was it ever. Our server was back to see if we wanted dessert which I couldn't imagine getting a sliver of a piece of cake for $7.95. As a consumer, I am TIRED of being ripped off. Restaurants are the BIGGEST culprits, as we are expected to pay their asking prices and leave generous tips. No matter what they put in front of you. Yet if I provided half the nonsense to my customers, they would tell me off and never come back. I write GOOD and BAD reviews. I am fair and just a layman. Looking forward to BJ's opening in GR where the Toys R Us used to be. Loved going to BJ's when we lived in Cincinnati. Their Berry Burst cider was my favorite before I even knew what ciders were. Pizookies are always a fave - warm baked cookies with ice cream I like the Pizookie Trio option to pick any 3 to try. Chocolate Chunk with vanilla ice cream is always a fave! I tried the "Enlightened" (items with less calories) Seared Ahi Salad and really like it with the slightly sweet dressing with fresh vegetables like red peppers and lots of cucumber. The tuna was seared perfectly. It could have had less of the nori or whatever umami seasoning. Kids meal is a great deal which comes with a main, side, drink, and fruit with a garlic knot before the meal. My daughter enjoyed the root beer float. The Lansing location has a a large open restaurant with a lot of tables and booths. A large bar. TVs everywhere to catch games. Big restaurant with lots of TVs, fun atmosphere and great for a game (though they didn't play the game over the speakers- at least msu games they should). Servers Cody and Nathan were friendly and efficient. The menu was ginormous and difficult to find what to go with since so many delicious looking options but went with the Santa fe salad this time. Our food came out and was delicious, tasty and flavorful- can't wait to try this place again next time we're in town. Things started off well. We used the online wait list and got a table about 5 minutes after arrival. Very friendly host staff. So far, so good. But then... The place was busy so we expected a bit of a delay, but it took more than an hour for our food to arrive. By the time we got our order, the table that had been seated just before us was already finished with their meal. My order was wrong, I was given an empty A1 bottle with my steak that was never replaced, and one in our party (5 people) got a meager handful of fries with their burger. The correct side dish for my order finally arrived 40 minutes after I let the waiter know, when we were leaving. At no time was there an apology or an update on the status. In fact, our waiter was difficult to find until it was time to pay the bill. We just paid and left. That was the first and last time. read more

I had the seared ahi tuna salad which was very fresh and has good flavor. I'd lose the huge tomato chunks as it doesn't go with that type of salad. My husband order the deep dish pizza which was average. Our only complaint would be our server brought the wrong drink & also we waited a very long time on drinks. My wife, sister in law and myself went here for the first time. The food is average, tasted fine. The server was good and friendly. Here is what we got: Me: a beer, fries and a burger. Wife: a beer fries and a burger. Sister in law: a beer, piece of salmon, rice and not quite cooked broccoli. Total bill: $135.00. Wanted to leave when I saw the prices, but the in-laws birthday and my wife told her to pick out where she wanted to go. Won't be doing that again. It's not a bad place, I'm just just dont believe a glass of beer costs the same as a 6 pack of beer and that a few fries and an average burger bun, burger and some cheese is worth $20. I had never been to a BJ's before and I attended a party here. The pizza was DELICIOUS and probably my new favorite BBQ chicken pizza. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ chicken pizza because I often feel there's too much sauce. This didn't have the typical sauce ratio and was right up my alley! Other pizzas were equally delicious. Terrible experience. Restaurant was not busy. Ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. Served slightly warm. Had to ask for plates, napkins and utensils. Seated at booth across from bar. Bartender was spraying aerosolized cleaner in direction of our booth, cleaning equipment and then waitress did the same at booth behind us, while we have food on the table, eating. I could taste the chemical. For what it costs to dine out and staff desiring tips, they need to use Common Sense AND receive Proper Training. Love this place! Beer is good, food is great! Pizookies are delicious! Restaurant is clean and the employees were friendly. I used to go to the one in Arizona a lot when I lived there and once I found out there was one in Lansing I had to take the trip. I got the California chicken club sandwich and love that they grill the bread, also switched the fries out for their wedge salad with balsamic on the side as well as blue cheese dressing. Be careful though with the sandwich because it can rough up the top of your mouth due to the grilling of the bread! I also like the jerryburst which is the Jeremiah red and berry burst cider mixed, yum. And the PIZOOKIEs! A bit surprised this place has 3/5 stars. I gave it 5 because my food and beer has always been good when I go. I've been a few times and I love the flatbreads. Chicken sandwiches are also very good. Had a wedge salad today with my flatbread and very happy overall. Recommend the oasis amber and Jeremiah red for beer. I ordered double chicken on mine and it came with with what I'd consider a normal amount. This was for the bbq chicken salad. I liked the bbq seasoning instead of sauce. I'd probably order this again. Needed more avocado however. The other salad was weak on the chicken. Noticeable. Probably should have mentioned something to the manager. First time ever been to this restaurant. To be honest, I am not so impressed with all the not-so-good reviews on Yelp so I didn't have much expectations to eat here. My family in law picked this place to celebrate Mother's Day together and it turned out quite nice. The restaurant is big, seemed busy even on Monday afternoon (1 day after Mother's Day). There are different kind of beers that they have in house. My husband and sister in law did try the Piranha Pale ale and it was light which they like. The boneless wings were actually very delicious. My favorite is the root beer sauce boneless wings. I ordered New Orleans Jambalaya, first time ever eat it. It is quite spicy but doable for me , but both my mother in law and sister in law couldn't finish even half of their dish because they couldn't stand for the heat. My server, I believe her name was Savanna, absolute sweetheart and was the best part of my experience there. Hostess didn't seem very welcoming, like she didn't want to be there and the manager should trim his facial hair up a little bit so he didn't look like a skinny Brutus from the Popeye cartoons. I was given a "prize coupon", which requires the manager to open and sign it when you get there, so I thought I would give the place a try. I believe they should be opening and signing it in front of you, because you have no way of knowing if the prize you win is actually the one you brought with you. It was opened away from the table, and when brought back, I was told "You got one of the good ones!", it was a Pazookie, so I wasn't pleased with the manager lying about the value of the "prize" I won. Pazookie is the most common thing you can win. I know, because I was actually given about 50 of them and after today, decided I wouldn't go back, so I opened them all and found that they were all Pazookies, except one that was a 10% off coupon (even less valuable than the Pazookies). So their gimmick to get people in there feels a bit scammy. As for the food, I ordered the fish & chips that came with 4 pieces of fish, some seasoned fries, a couple of lemon wedges and about a tablespoon of tartar sauce on a rectangular platter (approx. 10"x15") lined with parchment paper. If they can't spare a decent amount of fries, I would suggest they shrink the size of the platter they bring it on. Feels like a ripoff for $20. The batter on the fish was bland and tasteless and the "seasoned" fries weren't much better. To make it worse, none of the tables had salt or pepper on them and they brought me a Ketchup bottle that was almost empty. The soda I ordered had ZERO carbonation, so the manager brought me another one (when he was gaslighting me about my "great prize") and that was was the same, so he asked if I'd like a Dr. Pepper, which was ALSO flat. He told me that he'd make sure they didn't charge me for it. "Cool", I said, but that turned out to be BS too. I was still charged $3-$4 for a soda I didn't drink. Regardless of the service issues (waitress was great though), my star rating is mostly about the quality of their product. I wasn't impressed by the flavorless fish and the stinginess with the fries. The fact that the manager didn't know how to hook up a fresh Co2 tank for the overprices pop they're selling doesn't help. I'm no Gordan Ramsay, but even I know when food isn't seasoned right, and I never put salt on anything, so for me to ask for salt and pepper actually says something. read more

This was our first time dining at BJ's. We arrived early enough to beat the Lunch crowd, and seating was nice and spacious even with the plexiglass in place between the booths and between tables. Service was quick, and our server was very attentive. The food took a bit to arrive, but it was very good. They were also very generous with the fries, which tasted very good. We weren't sure about the serving trays, but it probably aligned with the brewhouse theme. Cloth napkins means this place will be nice even for special occasions. My family always orders the same few things (burgers, sandwiches, boneless wings etc.) but it has always been really good and service has always been excellent. Food always is warm/hot and fresh tasting. Fries are really good, especially with their ranch. Honestly if I could give this place less than one star I would. My best friends 21st birthday dinner was here and it was honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We arrived 30 minutes early to our reservation and were sat at a table right away where we then ordered waters and drinks and my drink from the bar did not get to the table until 55 minutes later and no apologies were given about that. Ordering drinks and food all night were a hassle and our party got their food separately and almost a whole hour apart from each other, just to bite into the food and it be cold.... but why send food back when your hungry and have been waiting 2 hours for your food. It then took another hour to get the table cashed out and with boxes and the hostess were more of a help than our actual waiter, nonetheless no apologies or discounts were given to any of us for the worst dining experience. Most of us do or have worked in the restaurant and service industry and are very understanding people, but that whole experience was just unacceptable, I don't think any of us plan on ever going back! read more
