We were on our way to see fall colors around Folsom so we decided to get some desserts for our trip. Found this place via yelp and decided to give it a try. As soon as we entered this place, it was clean and welcoming. We ordered an old style donut, a chocolate filled donut and a cranberry danish kind of thing. Needless to say everything was delicious. My favs were traditional donuts and cranberry danish. We requested the staff to warm up the donuts and she gladly did and packaged it well. Stopped by here because of the amazing reviews. There is plenty of parking around the restaurant. There were seatings indoors but most people order it to-go, we did too. It was loud in there so hard for them to hear. You literally have to yell lol. We checked into Yelp and got a coupon for $2 off $10, which was sweet! We ordered the cream puffs (delicious but cream was a bit too sweet for us), a few donuts, and the apricot scone. The guy gave us a few donut holes too, which was nice! This place is money!!! The staff is super friendly. From the outside it looks like a normal donut shop. I was traveling for work and had an overnight in Folsom. I was in charge of dinner for a training I was facilitating. I could not settle for just simple donuts so I turned to Yelp and found this spot. It is in a somewhat of a plaza super easy to find. It seems to be a pretty busy joint which I love. If it's busy it means it's good most of the time. It is not just your ordinary donut shop. This shop has different types of cinnamon rolls, I ordered one and it was so fluffy and delicious. They also offer these churro croissants. Croissants that are sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I also got about 12 cream puffs. So good. Normally we get leftovers donuts but not that day. They all were happily enjoyed. I am so bummed I didn't take any pics. This was such a major disappointment. I ordered via Uber Eats and I had fairly high expectations. I typically purchase donuts from Master Donuts in Citrus Heights. BJ Cinnamon's twists are clearly smaller, as well as the apple fritter. That was a bummer. Also, the grease is old. You can taste it in the twist as well as the fritter. The fritter was a bit too long in the grease. There is definitely a crunch, which is great, but the fritter wasn't good. Then of course is the flavor of the grease. It's obviously old. IYKYK. The cronut was nice, but don't get the frosted ones, just get the glazed. The crispy outside is delightful! Finally, the reason I will never order from here again, the cinnamon roll was absolutely atrocious. The dough didn't rise, it was between 1/4 to 1/2 inch tall. For reference, Cinnabon's Cinnamon Roll measured 2 1/4 - 3 inches tall. I do expect something better for my money. Additionally, the dough was dried out, and overly soaking in butter (probably to hide old cinnamon rolls? Ew.) I took the smallest bite, and threw the rest out. Its revolting. Oh well. As a former donut shop owner, I'm VERY particular about my fried dough delights. My partner suggested we visit this place after hearing they were voted the best donuts in California. Big shoes to fill, but they got it right. The raised donuts acknowledging receipt ethereally light like biting into a cloud. The batter donuts like cake and old fashioned were soft and moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside (the crispness is the hallmark of a fresh donut, if it's soft, the donut has been sitting for a bit). Best cinnamon rolls in the area! I can see why they made the top 50 cinnamon rolls in the country. The cinnamon rolls and caramel pecan rolls are both delicious. Though I bought them late morning, both were still very fresh and delicious. They did not add frosting until purchased so it doesn't get soggy. read more

We ordered 1 dozen kronuts on New Year's morning. The kronuts were not baked all the way through. Emily at BJ's was very receptive to my concern and kindly set aside 6 kronuts for pickup on 1/2 since they had already sold out when I placed my call on 1/1. She apologized and shared they hurried to get the orders out for DoorDash pickup. Embarrassed about the need to report thissm, we were satisifed with only receiving back half the order. The problem was at pickup time. I asked the cashier if for pur inconvenience and that we had paid a delivery fee (DoorDash) if she would be kind enough to add in a egg/cheese breakfast sandwich. She went to ask the owner/mgr if this was possible. After almost 5 min of discussoon amd still no answer, I left. First and foremost, they should have wanted to make the situation gone "wrong" a "right". We are loyal customers and have been for several years since moving to EDH. They should've done the right thing for the inconvenience they caused us and our disappointed guests who bit into their kronuts only to discover a doughy center. read more

They have a great selection of donuts, cinnamon rolls and breakfast sandwiches. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches - turkey, bacon, egg & cheese croissant (5a on the menu); 2 maple croissant donuts; 2 maple old fashions, 1 glaze, & they tossed in some donut holes. I've had this place bookmarked for years now and I finally got around to stopping by this place (don't really go to Folsom often). I can see why people love this place. The perfect dough for donuts is here.....super fluffy yet still dense enough to have a fulfilling slight chew. The glaze is a tad too sweet for my liking so my favorite one is the cinnamon crumble one. I also tried the cinnamon roll (felt like I had to try one since cinnamon is in the name of this place) and it's a bit of a greaseball as when I took one forkful bite oil was spilling out of my mouth. Unpleasant. It's also not the fluffiest cinnamon roll I've had. I prefer Spinners in Sac. Overall I strongly recommend this place for the donuts. I love to support small businesses especially during this difficult time. It was my bday and one of my girlfriends picked me up after donating blood to grab coffee and doughnuts. She said this was a popular place. There was several people in line waiting to place an order. I ordered a hazelnut latte and I ordered a hazelnut latte , a pink swirl doughnot, a jalapeño turkey crossaint and 5 of the French puffs. There was a girl and man working behind the counter. She took our order and we waited for our order. We got our order and walked to the car. Ehhh, my drink was not a latte but a bland mocha and we opened the box to find my pink doughnot missing‍ I returned inside and explained to the man that my drink was wrong. This place has been a go-to breakfast place for years. Normally they greet with a smile, are friendly and provide great service. Lately there has been a trend in the wrong direction. Less smiles, less friendly service and today I had my worst experience yet. I ordered a Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich but the Bacon was forgotten. I brought the sandwich back in, and instead of apologies and making a new sandwich.. the staff just handed me a bunch of cold bacon as if to say "Here you make your $8 sandwich you paid us for."
