    Flight of brews
    Gregory B.

I mulled over rating for a long time. On one hand, I found the beertender to be very friendly, loved talking to the regulars, and found this to be a neat little spot (little being the key word). On the other, I looked back and saw I only took one picture, so the palce did not really set off any bells. The beer is fairly average, IMO. I tried 4 brews and 2 ranked in at 3.5 and 2 at 3.75. I let the beertender choose and wanted across the board, so it was not my pony ride to start with (I prefer this as it lets people choose their best). Nice mouthfeel on all of the beers, none really held a head. I will give kudos for creativity on using four roses wood chips, but it did not quite give enough of the bourbon to feel like a good barrel aged beer. I would say the best thing about the spot is the atmosphere. Very low key and nicely laid out. Unfortunately tiny, so there were only 2 bar seats available. If I lived in the area, I would likely go in from time to time to see what Is brewing, but I would not go out of my way for this brewery. Nothing wrong with it, overall, but nothing really impressive.

Always a good time here. The tap room is small, but the staff is always great. You'll get all the beers they sell at stores, plus any special experimental beers. They don't sell food, so BYOF. They have a bunch of board games, and you can go walk around the actual brewery too. Check this place out!

I support the entire concept of small, local craft breweries. As long as their goal isn't to shamelessly sell out to a giant mega-beer conglomerate (like Revolver did). This brewery isn't the coolest venue in town and they don't have any stand out beer, but they have several that are above average and they fill a giant hole in the DFW craft view map--along with Three Nations it's one of only two breweries in the whole Addison-Carrollton-Farmer's Branch-North Dallas area.

As someone that enjoys a good craft brew, along with supporting local business, this was a fun find. My BF and I decided to go on a Saturday afternoon for one of their tours. I am a big fan of their Knock Out brew...I would give this beer a 5 for sure. As we walked into the brewery, it was simply decorated, with industrial feel, about 10 people, bar seating (about 8 to 10 stools from what I could tell), table seating and some comfy chair and couch options. The vibe seemed friendly, cool, and welcoming. I was surprised that we had to actually wave down the bartender after standing at the end of the bar for about 5 minutes. With so few people, I couldn't understand why we were not welcomed and asked what we wanted to drink or if we were interested in a tour. Oh well. We did choose to take the tour, as that was the reason we came to the brewery. Just seemed strange that there were so few people and there was acknowledgement of people entering. There were three other people in our tour group which it made it nice to be able to ask questions, and really feel like you were getting some special insight to the brewery and their process. Their story is awesome! The tour is only about 15 to minutes and really depends on the questions your group may have for the guide. Our guy, Cameron, was fabulous and definitely LOVES what he does for a living. He gave in depth information that we found interesting and he answered all our questions. He even gave his time after the tour to answer more questions. If you are interested in local business and enjoy a delicious craft beer, this is worth a visit. If only interested in the latter, go and have one of their tasty beers (love all the names to boot...well done). In the area behind the bar, where the tour takes place, there is also more sitting along with several game options. There were about 10 people back there playing games while we were taking our tour. The tour doesn't require walking...you literally walk about 20 feet behind the bar and that is about it. The bathroom (not unisex, as asked by Yelp), was clean and well stocked. As the place is not very large, it is a one pot shop for each male and female. There was a second bartender that came in, after our tour and after we received our cool Bitter Sister glasses (included with the tour). She was not very friendly and actually had taken some other guest's tour glasses off the bar. When she was asked about where their tour glasses went, she replied by saying, "well, they were dirty so I took them". It was really the tone and facial expression that was quite defensive and not necessary. I mean, all you had to do was say, "oh, my apologies, let me get you another". The other guests were a bit off put by that interaction. Although, I guess if the brand wants to truly embrace being bitter...she nailed it. Ha!! From a business stand point, I couldn't help but think that there were several opportunities missed. After the tour, there should be some mention of their branded items available for purchase. Let's be honest, the name Bitter Sisters, along with the fact that it has a cool logo, people would buy more if something was mentioned (particularly after a beer or two of their delicious beer). In addition, I found it interesting that there was no opportunity taken to collect visitors emails, or encourage posting to social media. They are a relatively new business that runs with a minimal staff, and definitely has some opportunity to improve. However, I will absolutely support this local business and purchase their beer that is available at our local grocery (and I believe WalMart). Oh, you can also bring in some munchies of your own. Not sure the extent you can bring, but a few customers had some chips. If you are going to have a couple beers, it may be a good idea to bring some munchies. Remember, this is a brewery and not a restaurant...no food. I am pretty certain they are looking to upgrade their license so they can have beer to go. Growlers, delicious beer...oh my!!! Definitely would sign up for that option. Support local business. Cheers y'all!!!

Addison has always been known for its overwhelming number of bar choices, but to have an actual brewery open in North Dallas/Addison is very cool indeed!!! Let the Dallas craft beer trend continue to expenad and grow! Bitter Sisters is conveniently located just a few blocks off of Beltline in a semi-commercial area. Private parking lot, unassuming exterior, and then into a pretty large sleek tasting area complete with bar seating, a few tables, and a comfy sofa section (they will need to add more seating as the brewery becomes more popular, but no worries as there is plenty of space to do so). The actual brewery and the vessels are located directly behind the tasting counter. Tours are available or you can simply look at the equipment and view processes through the glass windows. If that's not enough entertainment for you, there is also an extra large "family [chalkboard] wall" in the back corner to draw on and the fun string & hook game. If you've never played before, you will quickly realize just how addicting and fun it is! Now onto the really important part: the beers! Bitter Sisters currently has 4 year round beers a available (which is pretty a a average for small craft breweries). They will be adding some additional seasonal beers in the future. You can order a flight in the tasting room or beer by the glass of course. Unfortunately ,they currently only distribute to local restaurants and bars;however, they are hoping to get into Whole Foods soon so you may buy growlers to go. *Busy Body blonde lager (nice clean finish) *Cat Fight IPA (uber hoppy; a-ok) *Hissy Fit Marzen lager ***Knock Out Irish red (tasted almost like a Belgium style brew and at 8+%ABV, so of course it was my favorite!) Overall: Great service, fun space, good beers...I will return. Until then, cheers for beers!

It's definitely different than sitting in the bar section in very small tables and booths next to the bar. I would never choose to sit in the tables in the bar area. Unfortunately, as our luck would have it, whenever we select the standard seating, we tend to be sat in the small bar tables. This time I asked them to move us. They accommodated us (there were two large booths available in the main area), but the attitude was not great in doing so. The bar seating issue is enough to make me think about whether I want to go there again. Our server, Madison, was great. She was helpful, friendly, communicated well, and let us set the pace. Started with cocktails, which was an interesting experience, because the bar had some difficulties and so each of four drinks was brought out one at a time with a few minutes in between each. Not a huge deal but weird. Enjoyed a couple of wedge salads, which were nice. For entrées, one couple shared the flat iron steak, which they both enjoyed. The crabcake and fillet special was very good. The fried pork rustica was excellent. It's a lot of pork, but I would recommend it.
