Here follows my terrible experience under the incompetent and willfully negligent management of Brian Freeborn, General Manager.
I was a regular customer at this location for a long time -- spending quite a bit of money and visiting on essentially a daily basis. Eventually, I had a number of problems with one of their employees, a barely out of high school, small town, former cheerleader by the name of Brianne who had not outgrown the mentality. After she neglected my table for an extended period (the only one in her section) in order to flirt with a table full of guys in another section (she literally told another waitress she was jealous of all the "cuties" in her section moments before disappearing), I reported the issue to management via their website (I couldn't find the shift manager at the time, neither could one of the other waitresses). She found out about it, and began a year long campaign of harassment toward me where she was extremely rude and constantly spreading stuff (most of it false) about me to the other girls, customers, and managers. All of this was often done within earshot -- including multiple times where she could clearly be heard trying to convince managers I shouldn't be allowed back. She even convinced some of the girls not to serve me. In one instance, I had to wait a full hour before being served - only after speaking to the shift manager - and I was still ignored the rest of the evening until I flagged down the waitress for my check.
If I approached any of my friends in her vicinity or God forbid tried to speak with her, she would storm off making it clear to everyone in the area that she despised me. Months after the initial incident, I tried to say hello and she rudely replied "Don't talk to me!" at which point I never again tried to speak with her. Despite her bragging about the way she and her friends treated me, the management continued to turn a blind eye.
One night, some of the guys she was sitting with after her shift flipped me off and hurled some expletives after comments she made about me. I told the General Manager about it, but never received a response (he never responded to any of my emails, actually). Several months later, her boyfriend at the time also flipped me off and yelled "F*** you, f**g*t!" at me as he was walking out of the restaurant, disturbing several nearby tables. This time, when I reported the incident directly to the General Manager, he assured me that it wasn't his problem and "she doesn't work here anymore." Well, if that was true, he shortly welcomed her back and she began working there once again. I tried to let go of past issues, but she continued to treat me with disdain. If we so much as passed each other, there would be an audible scoff, a head cock, and a nasty face to make it clear my very presence annoyed her.
Our problems actually began much earlier, shortly after meeting her, when she first started working there -- she sat at my table and tried to order liquor. The waitress working my table reminded her she was 19, at which point she replied "Well, he can order it, and then I can drink it." I made it clear I was not ok with that and she got up and left. Mistakenly, I did not report that incident to management until after her behavior really became a problem some time later. Despite informing the management in a later complaint that she once tried to get me to buy her a drink when she was 19, I continued to see her drinking liquor with customers after her shifts.
Precisely one week after a friend of mine was murdered at a football watch party in Plano (along with seven other people), I was at Twin Peaks having a few drinks and dealing with the emotions when I again experienced the resentment of this employee and saw her drinking what clearly appeared to be liquor, albeit trying to be sneaky -- knowing that she was still under age. A few days after reporting the issue, I received a text message from one of the other servers informing me that the manager had told everyone I was banned from the restaurant.
Initially, the only response I received from Twin Peaks corporate was a challenge as to why I would report someone for underage drinking - clearly demonstrating their lack of regard for the issue. I'm still flabbergasted that a customer could receive such terrible treatment from an employee and there be no reaction from the management or the corporate office (located just across the street). Instead, there were insinuations that I was the problem, and I became the one to be punished merely for expecting them to enforce the law. My own behavior towards waitresses, patrons, and management was always honest, sincere, and respectful despite my treatment. Last I checked, the waitress in question was still employed there. read more
