The salami made the sandwich salty, which was too salty for me, but I should have known what I signed up for. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was that the bread wasn't soft on the inside. Short story: Overpriced, especially since it is not even as good as grocery store deli & bagged produce. Staff on the clueless side. Long story: Ordered a whole rotisserie chicken $19.99 and regular size coleslaw $7.99. Although I could see the remains of spice and herbs on the chicken, the only flavor was salt. Not overly salty, just no other real flavors. The skin was rubbery and chewy, the breast was very dry, which rotisserie cooking is supposed to avoid. Honestly, I could have saved some money and picked up a chicken at Safeway for less than half the cost, and it would have been better prepared. If the coleslaw had dressing, it was not enough to show, and it had no flavor. At least the cabbage was still somewhat crisp. Had to add salad dressing to give it any flavor at all. Also, $8 for roughly 1 cup of slaw is way out of line. For a few bucks you can get a bag of slaw, with the dressing included, in the produce aisle. I had ordered through UberEats website, but later found their website www(dot)bitesandwiches(dot)com, where the whole chicken is listed for $13.99 and coleslaw $3.99! I called so I could find out why such a big difference in price for delivery. When the woman answered, I asked how much for a whole rotisserie chicken. She asked me "half or whole" so I repeated whole. She then called out to someone else to ask them the price. I couldn't make out the response, but she then informed me "We don't have chicken." Huh? Solid sammie spot in Nob Hill. For 2, we ordered the Gouda Good chicken and the Gobbler sandwich. The Gouda Good really was good. The chicken was tender and the gouda cheese was all warm and ooey gooey and oozing out (in a good way). The Dutch crunch bread was also crunchy and the added jalapeños definitely added a nice kick. The Gobbler (which was pretty much a BLT with turkey) was a little bit more underwhelming. The turkey was good, and they were accommodating about substituting the blue cheese for pepper jack, but the sandwich was overall dry -- maybe they went a little light on the mayo and mustard? That makes one damn good Bite. After a show at The Masonic, my brother and I decided to get a quick bite and found this place around the corner. (Open til 2am. Perfect for those drunchies?) Parking was a little tough, as is all SF street parking, but we eventually found a spot a few blocks down and walked over. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall with room only to stand and wait. It's more of a stop and go kind of sandwich shop, with the kitchen right behind the counter and rotisserie chickens roasting right before your eyes. Their menu is pretty expansive and full of SO many different sandwich combinations--different meats, cheeses, veggies and breads to go in. You'll find any combo you love, with the option of making your own. They also offer salads and wraps. I opted for the Vegetarian Bite which, for a lot of sandwich shops can be a rip-off, but WOW did they pack in the flavor! It came with hummus, avocado, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and lettuce in a toasty wheat Dutch bun. And for a vegetarian sandwich, it was super tasty and filling as any other sandwich you could order. Their prices typically range from $8-13, which is totally worth the price since their portions are very reasonable and generous. Food is made on the spot, as some sandwiches can take a bit of cooking time, which, for me...is no bother at all. I trust their cooking and preparation to make every sandwich fresh, warm, toasty and full of flavor, which is exactly what I got. Overall, it's everything you'd want and ask for in a sandwich. Just good ingredients cooked and prepared well... From the bread to the variations of turkey, bacon, roast beef, gouda or blue cheese, they're making good stuff here. And I've no complaints. I don't know many good sandwich places around, but if I'm ever in SF again and this place is close by, you can bet I'd love to get another post-concert bite here. I bit into something hard and the piece was small enough that I would have swallowed it, but it was sharp on my tongue, so I spit it out. I attached two pics of the plastic. Wow. Just. Wow. I came to this little shop after studying the menu online. First thing I noticed was just how small this little shop was! When I entered, we were promptly greeted with a lot of energy. Awesome vibes leaves me happy. I love Gouda, and got the Gouda good. Which was amazing. They give a good amount of meat, sauce, and veggies, all in a perfectly toasted Dutch Crunch. They have a pretty extensive menu for such a small shop.
