New York has so many amazing eateries but also so many subpar ones. It's sometimes exhausting trying to find a quick bite on the go that also happens to be quality. Popped by Bite on a Sunday afternoon, ordered the eggplant panini ($13.34 after tax) thinking it would be delicious and quick and got an oily undercooked mess instead. You can't really undercook a panini since it's cooked food put into a press but you would at least expect the cheese to be melted after 6 minutes in the thing. The oil squirted everywhere and the cheese was practically cold. I gave up on the sandwich and tossed the rest in the trash regretting the money wasted. read more

I was looking for something quick, inexpensive and nothing too heavy. I love good falafel so I opted for the falafel and hummus and added feta since I'm not vegan. This review is for the NoHo location, "Exotic Tuna Salad." THE. BEST. EVER. I was astonished how tasty this was. And huge. I hauled it to JFK so I could have a nice leisurely picnic while awaiting my flight. I wanted to just shove the entire thing in my mouth all at once. Seriously. It was that good. I've experimented with their sandwiches and soup on separate occasions--the turkey pesto panini, the Mediterranean chicken pita, and the white chicken chili. For under $10, you receive a sizeable portion of food, especially with the sandwiches, but the quality of the meat for my palate is a too salty. The white chicken chili was more like a soup than a stew and gratuitously loaded down with cilantro, which would've been helpful to note in the menu description (it being one of those polarizing foods in which I sit on the side of an adamant no!). On one visit I also sampled a chocolate chip cookie which was large but extremely dry and crumbly. Most people takeaway, but there are a few stools and a counter inside the restaurant's diminutive footprint. Be advised that you will end up smelling like grilled food preparations for the rest of the day if you choose this option. I've heard great things about the breakfast sandwiches, and would consider trying those out, but otherwise might consider exploring other options in the neighborhood. read more
