Favorites include the Charred Chicken & Rice and the Fans Fave Plate which is Charred Chicken, Cashew Kale Caesar and Sheet Tray carrots. Their sides are terrific and a great value. They also have sandwiches and drinks. I had brown rice, Brussel sprouts and broccoli with 1)crispy tofu and 2) charred chicken. I like the chicken more. Heavier flavor and great portion. Tofu feels flat and only comes with 2 pieces. The portion is significantly smaller. The service is quick. The staff were nice and social, however the Brussel sprout side dish was too salty. Needs to have a proper salt management. Tofu was over cooked or under the heat lamp too long however everything was still tasty. The focaccia was greatly oiled with herbs visible and slightly taste it. I'm of the healthy lunch eating set who got into the habit of eating a convenient lunch at Dig Inn back when I went into the office for work. This habit started over a decade ago, and I actually thought the food at Dig Inn got better and better over the years, with a crescendo at their fine dining sit down concept, 232 Bleecker, which I think is fantastic. DIG on 4th marketed themselves as a happy medium between the casual quick serve outposts and their fine dining restaurant with this full- service restaurant. What I found was a slightly dressed up version of regular quick-serve DIG locations, except the food is served on real plates instead of disposable bowls. Dig on 4th is akin to Westville, with fewer options and smaller portions. If you read any of the press or the description on Dig on 4th's own website, you'll see the copy writer was working on overdrive. "Dig on 4th represents Dig's expansion into a third place- a public space that acts like an intimate one. We've designed the space to make it feel like you're going home." It doesn't look like any home I've ever been to, it looks like a lunch counter. You pay at the register, grab a table flag, and they bring out your dishes to your table. You then bus your own tables, so calling it a full service restaurant feels like a misnomer. Everything about the food and experience felt almost identical to their more casual concepts, which also serve wine and beer, so you can't even say that's the key difference. This menu has sandwiches, with regular Digs don't have, but that's about it. Roasted veggies and a substantive protein is a formula I can get behind, but I think they could've done without the flowery overtures and claims that this is anything different than what they had previously here. read more

Overall very filling, however the brussels sprout and chicken were a little salty so the sauces really helped balance that out. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and kept refilling our water (even though it was self-serve). The flavors of everything was super flavorful and fresh. The pricing structure is a bit odd but for $21 including tip I got a kale Caesar salad with a pice of grilled wild salmon, so I can't complain too much. The loud party music is kind of annoying and the floor could use a good cleaning but the salad is tasty and the service is friendly and quick. I love the concept of this fast casual place which appears to be a mini-chain in NYC. I actually gave it a try because I happened to hear someone talking about it on a food podcast prior to my most recent visit. I was craving some simple, healthy food amid a trip full of bagels, pizza and Ukrainian pierogi. Other than what I heard on the podcast and one Eater article from 2019 about their name being shortened from Dig Inn to just Dig (a good branding choice since the store is modern, not down homey), there wasn't much info about them. Their menu had what I was looking for though so I placed an order online for pickup. I really like the ability to engineer your meal on their online menu. I chose a bowl with half farro, half greens, salmon, roasted carrots and broccoli . I choose the garlic aioli and a wedge of lemon as my yep condiments. The spouse got a combo crispy chicken sandwich and roasted carrots. We picked up at their clean, modern place on 4th Ave and the food was promptly ready. The spouse's chicken sandwich was abundant, busting with fried chicken and pickles (his favorite). The salmon and vegetables in my bowl were prepared really well. Fresh ingredients cooked to the proper consistency and all uniquely seasoned. The farro was awesome, and a surprise to see on a fast casual menu. The price was pretty great too. All of our food clocked in just under $30. The only inconsistency seemed to be the lack of greens in my bowl. There were some, but not what I imagined when I ordered half & half. I really wish more places like this would spread to Seattle...we are woefully low on healthy fast casual, which is weird because a place like Dig would be on brand. Are you listening Dig?! read more

Love this place! It's nice to get something relatively fast AND healthy. As someone obsessed with breakfast, I ordered the AVO egg sandwich, and it did not disappoint. It took about 6mins from order to the hand over. It's served on (house-made, they say) focaccia and that definitely adds to the experience with pickled peppers to lighten the palette. ...I would have loved a bit more avo though - the amount wasn't giving main character energy at all. It was more avo paste. In all it was $8 and some change - not bad at all IMO. If you're dining in, there is more of a restaurant-feel with stainless steel cutlery (and not just disposables - yay!). Got a BYOB (Build Your Own Bowl) as takeout and my order was Charred Chicken, Brown Rice, Brussels, and Caulifower Parmesan. Don't think you can go wrong here as long as you know what ingredients you like. The charred chicken were well-seasoned tender chicken thigh pieces. There wasn't much rice or maybe I just went through it so quickly with all these main/sides. Brussels does have a bit of kick from the spice as you keep eating. There aren't as many brussel sprouts (small) as I was hoping or maybe it's hidden under all the other mixed greens. The cauliflower does have that hint of parmesan, not bad. I also requested a lemon wedge and garlic aioli sauce on the side not that it was needed. The sauce is a nice addition! My brother got farro for his bowl which I took a nibble of and would totally get that as the base next time if I remember (Brown rice is yummy too). It has a nice chewy texture! read more

This location is different than most of the others. You place your order and if you're dining in you sit down and the food is brought to you . From then on you become your own waiter . You're asked to bust the table after your meal and should you want so extra sauce on that food you get up and fetch it yourself . It's kinda a weird experience to be honest, especially when there are several idle workers behind the counter that can assist and possibly earn tips . This location is unlike any Dig you've experienced. I'm blown away. I have been going to Dig for years (when it was still Dig Inn!) and this has really impressed me! The staff is so nice and the menu is fully made for you, unlike most Dig locations where you have the option to make you own. I was very impressed by the options and had a difficult time choosing since they all sounded so good. I ended up getting the kale Caesar with herb chicken. The chicken was so flavorful I was shocked it came from a fast casual place. It also came on a real plate since I was dining in (great if you're low waste!). It was so good!! Also the atmosphere is super chill with natural wood and dim lighting - it's a nice spot to chill for a bit. The farro had butternut squash in it with pieces of celery to be crunchy but also had a flavor, so it wasn't just bland. I ate all of it . The Mac and cheese was a big portion and really good. I recommend everything I had including the tofu. You can ask for a side of sauce too. I got a very green tasting pesto herb sauce. There's Sriracha in the fridge, you help yourself. I had the red wine , it's like $7.50 for a little carafe. Pretty good for the price. They have a couple beers too. My friend had the steak chef special and enjoyed all of that too .They had a daily focaccia special with butternut squash and garlic confit that was awesome especially with a bit of pesto or Sriracha on top ! Get that. I'd skip the banana pudding though - it just seemed like vanilla pudding on top of cake pieces. Try the home baked cookie if you want something sweet.
