Bite Into Maine's Fort Williams Park food truck is in a great spot, close to prime parking if you can get it. My husband and I went on Labor Day weekend. The weather was a little chilly and rainy, so the line for food was pretty short and moved pretty quickly. The best part about this experience was being able to sit at a picnic bench and look out at the stunning views while enjoying the lobster (although there were some very interested bees we had to deal with). The workers were also very pleasant. I want to note first that I'm pretty sure it was slightly more expensive than the other rolls we ate this whole weekend looking at ounces, but I personally still think it's worth it to try for some of the unique flavors. On the positive, I got the curry lobster roll (4.5 ounce size) and really enjoyed it. Good, solid lobster (not the best I've ever had but no real complaints), and the sauce was awesome with some lemon added on top. You get a little side of chips, those were fine but I didn't need them. My husband got a Connecticut lobster roll (6 ounces). This should be nice and warm all around. At the window they gave him the roll and asked if he wanted the butter on it and poured for him. Very unfortunately this roll was cold all around -- cold lobster, cold butter, and my husband said it was quite unpleasant to eat as a result and he couldn't finish the roll. Afterward, we looked up reviews and noticed that others had a similar experience. Just a bummer to advertise warm buttered and serve it cold consistently. All in all, I would give this a 4 and my husband would give it a 1, so we rested on a 3 because I did really enjoy mine. As mentioned above, I'd definitely recommend trying for the more unique flavors, but for a more classic roll I'd suggest elsewhere. read more

It's a small food truck located on the hill near the parking lot at the park. Parkings are available at the park itself. We got 6oz maine style and wasabi mayo lobster rolls and blueberry soda and a whoopie pie. Lobster rolls were overflowing with lobster meat and paired with nicely buttered and toasted buns. They were both delicious but i actually liked the wasabi mayo version better personally.Blueberry soda was refreshing which is a brand i've had before from Maine that i like. I think we waited like an hour. Getting down to the nitty gritty. Clam chowder - probably the creamiest of the chowders we had in Maine. It wasn't my favorite but others liked it. I thought personally it lacked the flavor of the others I had. Grilled cheese - this was probably the prettiest most classically perfect grilled cheese I've ever bought. It was great and dipping it into the clam chowder made it a 10/10. Lobster roll - we got the Connecticut which is just warm butter. Flavor wise I was told it's on par with reds. They preferred this bun over reds but reds has more meat. Overall a 10/10. Potato salad - 4/5. It's slightly sweet. I just didn't like the onions in it but that is personal preference View - 10/10. When visiting Maine I had to do my research and this spot consistently comes up as one of the best lobster rolls in Maine so we had to try it. I had been here once before and remember it being good but not a stand out but had to give it another go. It's a small food truck in the same park as Portland Head lighthouse so the location cannot be beat, on a clear day it's the perfect place to enjoy a lobster rolls. They have picnic tables and the park has plenty of tables and benches where you can eat as well. We got the picnic and Maine style 6 oz lobster rolls, with some potato salad and a grilled cheese for my toddler. I love that they tell you the amount of lobster you are paying for and the roll truly comes piled with lobster on their buttery toasted buns. However, the lobster itself was not as sweet as other places I've been, not sure how that happened and not sure I can blame the location for this but the lobster tasted bland? Which was a bit of a bummer. Additionally my husband's first bite (and second) had significant pieces of shell in them, which is not great.
