I really liked this location. To put it simply I would come back. You drive into basically a park and you pay for parking in the lot. Was there a line? Yes. Did it move pretty fast? Faster than Reds. I think we waited like an hour. Getting down to the nitty gritty. Clam chowder - probably the creamiest of the chowders we had in Maine. It wasn't my favorite but others liked it. I thought personally it lacked the flavor of the others I had. Grilled cheese - this was probably the prettiest most classically perfect grilled cheese I've ever bought. It was great and dipping it into the clam chowder made it a 10/10. Lobster roll - we got the Connecticut which is just warm butter. Flavor wise I was told it's on par with reds. They preferred this bun over reds but reds has more meat. Overall a 10/10. Potato salad - 4/5. It's slightly sweet. I just didn't like the onions in it but that is personal preference View - 10/10. When I think about having a lobster roll on the coast of Maine this is exactly what I think about. Overall I think everyone should go here at least once. read more

Bite Into Maine at Cape Elizabeth was one of the highlights of my lobster roll adventure through Maine. The lobster comes chilled, and then--right at the pickup window--they pour hot butter over the top. Watching that pour and taking the first bite was pure magic. If I had one tiny wish, it would be for the lobster meat to already be warm before the butter pour, especially on a foggy September morning. But that's just a slight ding on an otherwise outstanding roll. No lines this time of year, friendly staff, and the iconic backdrop of the lighthouse made this stop unforgettable. While visiting Portland, we wanted to try a few lobster rolls, and this spot was one we were especially excited about after hearing so many great things on social media and even from Somebody Feed Phil. We ordered the 4.5 oz Connecticut lobster rolls with warm butter and wow, they exceeded expectations! The rolls were generously filled with perfectly cooked lobster, buttery and tender, and the bread itself was just right. We wish we had time to try some of their other rolls, but this one alone left a fantastic impression. A helpful tip: while there are only a few tables in front of the truck, you can easily take your food to the nearby beach area where there are plenty of picnic tables. This made for the perfect setting to enjoy such a delicious meal. Highly recommend stopping here when exploring Fort Williams Lighthouse! read more

I am not a taco truck type of person, but made the exception to try this famous lobster roll. What a surprise, these were the best in all of Maine that we tried, and we tried many. There are a few different options to try and the line was long, we waited about 15 minutes for our rolls, but it went fast. It was very hot, so we decided to try the blueberry soda since we are in the region of blueberries. Even though we don't care for soda too much, it wasn't so bad. Try it at least once is our motto, and as they say... When is Rome... Parking is available and is 2.00 for the hour. While there, take a very easy walk along the coast to the light house. They have a little gift shop and the area is beautiful. Stop and take in the beauty, sit at one of the many picnic tables and enjoy the moment. read more

Best lobster roll in NE period. Spent a week in Boston and Maine hunting lobter rolls and yarn stores. Bite into Maine was the best. Its a food truck by the famous Portland Lighthouse with a super long line, for good reason. It moves fairly quickly - the order taker is real efficient. Most people knew what they wanted so they didn't hold up the line. The lobster roll was fantastic - lot of lobster, juicy with butter. The grilled cheese was, well, grilled cheese. Both are served with potato chips. We got the last whoopie pie (score!) and tried the blueberry soda, clan chowder and potato sald - all were very good. Even though you have to wait in a long line to place your order the people working at this food truck were the absolute nicest! Not only are they able to give suggestions on what what to order. They keep the line moving as fast as possible and they're so accommodating and helpful! This is a food truck so seating is limited. There are a few tables outside in front of the food truck. If you haven't heard of Bite Into Maine, you probably live under a rock. They are well known for their lobster rolls, and they absolutely deliver on their reputation. It was a rainy day, so we decided to go looking at lighthouses around southern Maine. We stumbled across a Bite Into Maine food truck and had to give it a try. The friendly staff were keeping plenty busy on this rainy day. Their lobster rolls aren't huge, but they charge a very fair price for what you get. You can also have it done up multiple ways. I just tried the traditional cold lobster roll and it was delicious! Enjoying their delicious lobster roll right in the scenic Fort Williams Park was the perfect way to spend a rainy day! read more

Best lobster roll we had on the trip! I loved that they offer different styles. We tried both the Connecticut and Maine versions, and each was delicious. Generous portions of lobster, so it actually felt worth the price. It's a food truck, and of course it started raining when we got there. However, service was super friendly and quick. We ended up eating in the car, and it was still absolutely delicious. There were picnic tables overlooking the water. So would have been nice to sit and eat at if it wasn't raining. Expensive, but totally worth it. Would 100% go back! read more

I had a chance to visit Bite into Maine when I was checking out the Lighthouse and oh my this is a food truck nearby and I heard that they serve really yummy lobster rolls. The cool thing here is they have different types of rolls and I ended up getting the Connecticut one with melted butter. The day we went it was rainy but thankfully the truck was still open. We were able to get a roll and it came with some chips which added a nice crunch. The lobster roles here are very yummy and would recommend to check it out! read more

I've been to Maine many times, but only twice in the past decade or so. On my most recent visit, my flight was delayed, leaving me with a couple extra hours to spend in this gorgeous state. Up until that point, on a short visit, I hadn't really done much Maine stuff. And my Maine (wo)man took this as an opportunity to show me the quintessential Maine morning: lobster roll + lighthouse. We drove up inside Fort Williams Park, and rolled up to this trailer atop a hill, where they are serving up truly excellent lobster rolls. I don't know if it's blasphemy that I prefer the "Connecticut" preparation (topped with warm butter instead of the mayo salad), but I do love that: 1. They cater to the content generation by giving you a heads-up before they pour the butter over the top of the roll. 2. This is one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. 3. I can eat it while staring at a lighthouse by the water on a beautiful fall day. Truly, a wonderful experience, and one everyone should try at least once. It is pricey, especially if you opt for the extra lobster option like I did, but it's well worth it. read more

Our family went to visit the lighthouse and were pleasantly surprised to see a food truck on the site. The kids were hungry and we hoped to have a good family friendly menu. I am so glad we stopped! There was a good variety of options to choose from and each dish came with a side of chips (or you could upgrade to other sides). The menu offered upwards of $$30+ Lobster Rolls down to grilled cheese baskets for $5. The staff were helpful with sorting through the menu. The kids got the grilled cheese and they were SO tasty, I enjoyed one with them! There were picnic tables to pause and eat, and the view around us was INCREDIBLE! If you're coming to see the Head Light you just have to have a lobster roll here, that's the rule. The line was wrapped around the trailer when we joined but it went quick! Pricing seems to be fairly even with other lobster rolls in the area, maybe a bit higher. I got the Connecticut roll with warm butter. The lobster is overflowing even with the 4oz order and the toasty roll is great! Chips were a fine side. They also have Maine Root products and a couple other drinks. Recommend bringing a blanket to picnic in the park if you can't snag a table! read more

A spot with small cart and long line away from the beach which can be refreshing for that hot summer day. It can be a long line depending on time but it's worth it. Surprisingly the pulled pork sandwich won this round of flavors. I was really hankering for one last lobster roll before our Maine trip ended and Bite Into Maine more than did the job. The truck is parked in Fort Williams Park and Portland Head Light, with stunning views of the water. Lots of spots for picnicking. So in other words, the line for lobster rolls was very, very long. I wasn't keeping too close track but I'd estimate the wait was about an hour from ordering to getting the food. Was the lobster roll delicious and packed with giant hunks of lobster meat and coated in a beautiful sheen of mayo? Yes. Was it worth that wait? I dunno. I'd definitely get it again but only if I didn't have to wait that long to inhale. They have CT and ME rolls but also offer flavors like wasabi (I tried a bite of my husband's and appreciated the subtle wasabi taste), chipotle, and curry if you're feeling more adventurous. There are also non-lobster options like pulled pork and tomato/mozz. (Also - A+ potato chips on the side. I think it's some variety of kettle cooked chips but almost all of them had that fold with maximum crunch and salt.) read more

If this isn't your favourite lobster roll.. you're wrong. Everything about this roll altered my brain chemistry with the coleslaw addition, the dredge of butter on top at the end (iykyk) and staring at the cape while you realize life may not ever get better than this moment. Super quick service, such generous portions WITH CHIPS, in this economy, even the 4oz is huge and is what bumps it even higher on my list. I managed to accidentally catch the Bite Into Maine food truck on the last day of the season -- lucky me! This food truck could not be more conveniently located for those taking a stroll through Fort Williams park. The truck is parked by several picnic tables with a view of the lighthouse, and the experience of sipping some blueberry soda and chowing down on some clam chowder under a radiant blue sky with that view is enough to warrant a visit. It helps that the food is pretty good, too. I didn't get any lobster, but ordered the grilled cheese (which comes with kettle chips) and a clam chowder. My friends ordered a blueberry soda, clam chowder, and a lobster roll. We were all perfectly happy -- though not blown away -- by the food. The grilled cheese was good and classic; the clam chowder was tasty and clam-forward, though some of the clams were a bit tough. Service was prompt and the food came out relatively quickly. Highly recommend for those looking for a lunch spot with a view! The truck is closed now, but will be back in April 2025. read more

Lobster roll is great. The large size seems stuffed with lobster, and came with a side of cape cod chips. I enjoyed the Maine style Wait is a little annoying. Waited 40min including lining up + waiting for food after ordering. Also annoying is finding parking (and having to pay for it). The park is cool, to kill some time after eating. read more

Cute place a little off the beaten path. Love the concept of the lobster roll flight so we tried 3 versions. The picnic was my favorite with the Cole slaw adding a nice crunchy freshness. The curry lobster was good but would make a better dip than it was on the roll. The chipotle could have been twice as spicy. That said, the lobster quality wasn't as prime as other places we ate (more small pieces and shreds than chunks) but lots of different flavor profiles to try so worth checking out if you're kind of bored with Mayo or butter. read more

Four friends and I from around the country met for a four-day junket in the Portland area, and Bite Into Maine, recommended by our VRBO host, was our first stop. The 6-ounce rolls were loaded with sweet, tender lobster meat and drenched with butter, and we loved the potato chips served alongside. Cold drinks included a very spicy ginger beer, which I loved, one friend not so much. The young woman who took our order was charming, and service was fast. Excellent stop while visiting the light house. Fresh goodness. And with a moxie no less. So we had lobster rolls, that were just amazing - just go, don't even keep reading. We also enjoyed a Whoppie pie that was homemade as well. It was so good!!! Stopped by Portland for a quick trip and of course needed to get myself a good Maine lobster roll! Bite into Maine is a food truck located in Cape Elizabeth where you can eat a lobster roll while looking at scenic coastlines and lighthouses. The atmosphere is unbeatable! I ordered the Maine style lobster roll which comes with mayo and chives but I thought the lobster roll fell short of expectations. I really wish there was more mayo and overall the lobster roll felt a bit dry. My roll had very little mayo and had I known I would've asked for extra mayo! I got the 6 oz lobster roll which came with a good amount of fresh lobster meat. The portion also came with a side of chips included with the price of the roll. Bite of Maine is a must visit when you're visiting Cape Elizabeth & the Portland Head Lights. There was a bit of a wait, but try to grab a seat in one of the nearby picnic tables so you have a place to sit when your food is ready. I love lobster rolls and my go to is always the Connecticut with melted butter. We opted for the 6oz and it did not disappoint. They pour on the butter right before handing it to you and it was delicious. Since we were in Maine, we also got the classic Maine style lobster roll and it had just the right amount of mayo. For what this is, it is perfect! We were able to try their food at an event at Sunflower Farm. The staff - super chill and nice and they work fast to get you the food, in a nice presentable fashion. Create a family type of environment in the way they chat with customers. They are so friendly and engaging, you forget you are at a food truck. They have so many delicious options that come out of this truck, not sure how they do it. Many types of options...of Course for us, the Maine style was perfect! The prices are the cheapest, but they are good. read more

It feels like a secret, but I know it's not a well kept one! Our server Nico (apologies if I've misspelled that!) was wonderful. He was friendly and helpful when we made our dinner choices. The other servers were also always on top of keeping our table clear and our water filled. The food was absolute perfection. We started with a salad and grilled octopus. The salad was bright and acidic which paired perfectly with the best octopus dish I've had. It was so tender and delicious, I've never had octopus that was that tender. The grilled flavor came through immediately, but never overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the octopus. For mains I had sole francaise and my husband had bone in monkfish. The sole was melt in your mouth good. It was lightly breaded and cooked in a pan with brown butter. It was so toasty and nutty and coated the green beans and simple, but perfect, red potatoes it was served with. My husband's monkfish was fresh and perfectly toothsome, served with fluffy Roman gnocchi and romesco sauce. My only regret is not having enough room for dessert because I'm sure it's incredible as well! I can't wait to return the next time we're in Portland. Just to note: this is one of the least accessibility-friendly areas of the city. The old cobblestone road that it's located on is foot traffic only. The closest approach is if you're dropped off at the end of and it you would still have a short distance to travel. There is a brick footpath on the sides of the cobblestone road that is slightly smoother, but still not ideal. Earlier in the day I was able to navigate the street okay on foot so it will depend on your capabilities. That being said, I took my motorized travel chair down there in the evening and Street and co were happy to let me fold it up and store it near the door.
