Oysters and white wine were incredible! Staff was super nice and the views were great from the upstairs bar.

We enjoyed lunch on Saturday at Dry Dock. The outdoor patio area was open and you get such a lovely view while you enjoy your food. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were the tastiest oysters I've had all summer (all sourced from Maine). The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly.

Great service, very welcoming. Amazing oyster bar. They have nice selection of cocktails as well as wine and spirits. They menu had soo many selections , it was hard to choice. But makes you want or come back for more for sure..

Whoops I ate most of the oysters!

After a morning of looking at the ocean we decided we really needed some seafood in our lives for lunch. Dry Dock looked like a lovely location and relatively quiet so we got a seat. They sat us at the end of the bar by the oysters. It's a pretty tucked away spot and unfortunately there was a miscommunication and I don't think the server that was assigned to that area knew we were there so we waited at least 15 minutes. As soon as we informed the host they were extremely apologetic and corrected it right away. Service was stellar after that. Mistakes happen! Overall it's a beautiful airy space with two floors. There's also a deck that overlooks the harbor and I plan to tackle the stairs to sit on it when we're there in good weather! The food was fabulous. Seeing as I was seated in front of the oysters of course I had to get some. They had three varieties available this day and they were all delicious and fresh, ranging in flavor from briny to buttery. I decided to get some vegetables in so I ordered a kale Caesar. I'm not usually crazy for Caesar salad but the kale really improves the dish for me and I enjoyed it a lot. Of course I had to balance that.. so we shared some fried calamari. It was so tender and crisp with some hot picked peppers mixed in which is my favorite. My husband had a grilled fish sandwich which ended up being one of his favorite meals of the trip. It was a Fresh piece of haddock grilled with an herbaceous seasoning served on a super soft bun. He said he could have eaten 10. Really enjoyed our meal and look forward to the next time!

Prime rib and catch of the day, sword fish. Apps: calamari, haddock cheeks and, the best thing.... Mussels!! Top-notch all the way around, including Emily, or server! Thanks to all the staff!

I have tried dry dock a couple times since it reopened. I love the outdoor patio in the summer where you can head out there and grab a drink from the outdoor bar. It is limited in what you can order but has most options. I sat a the bar one time and got the chicken sandwich, it was good! I just wish the fish piece was a little bigger as the bun covered up most of the fish, but that could have just been a one time thing. I have also sat upstairs and the vibe is very nice upstairs even in the colder weather. I got the burger and it was very good with the special sauce. Their cava and dirty martini are both great as well. They also have some other cool drink options! Overall great new spot with friendly service!

I have been to Dry Dock a couple of times now, and I'm a big fan! Initially, I had some reservations (as usual when a new place opens up in Portland). Is it going to be a tourist trap?! Is the food going to be mediocre?! Based on my experience, the answer is no to both. The food has been incredible, the staff exceptional, and the space impressive. It's so expansive -- two whole floors, ocean views, Commercial Street views, bar seating... there's something for everyone. Unlike its sister restaurant, Luke's Lobster, Dry Dock doesn't seem to get as packed (which I absolutely love), although that may change during the summer. We've tried a lot of their menu and found everything quite delicious. Their burger is one of my husband's favorites in town. Their chorizo soup and chowder are both to die for. We recently had the friend cod cheeks, and it was a hit. Their dips are also phenomenal. The ceviche was the only dish we've had that didn't wow us. The addition of sweet potato was an interesting choice that I don't think added a lot of flavor. Prices are fair when considering location and quality. Overall, we've had a great experience at Dry Dock and will continue going back there. I think it's one of the best restaurants on Commercial St.

I looked up Dry Dock for lobster rolls, they did not disappoint that's for sure! I got the garlic brown butter roll and my husband got the cold lobster roll. Both were served with a large portion of French fries! They definitely don't skimp on the lobster! Service was just ok, they were not very busy when we went but we had to wait forever for everything. We asked for cocktail sauce and were almost done with our meal when we got a tiny serving of cocktail sauce. We had to ask for soda refill and were ready to leave when we finally got our refill. Ambiance was nice, we sat outside and had a great view of the bay. If service was better would have given 5 stars.

Recently just re-opened with the same name as before DRY DOCK. One of my favorite nieces works for the main office doing graphic design. She's very good at her job & loves what she does. Our wait person Jeff was a true hoot of a person. Thank you Jeff for doing all you do to make our meal such a success. Jeff a true gentleman with a gift of gab. So all in all I forgot to take pictures of all our meals which were memorable. We started off with a small tower which was plenty except I didn't get any lobster The rest of the tower was very good & fresh, a good appetizer to share. One of us got 2 halibut sliders & a ceasar salad with no complaints. The fish & chips my wife had was great. The fries perfectly done & a very tasty coleslaw. How was the tartar sauce you ask? No idea I wasn't offered any to try. Next up brother in law & I both had the halibut special of the night. We both enjoyed it but truth be told both pieces were overcooked & dry. Usually I speak up at restaurants & voice my pleasure or displeasure. Tonight I was on my best behavior. The restaurant was loud & very full of paying customers. Yes we 'll be back to try other items on the menu.

Went here a few weeks ago and we loved it. Out of all the restaurants right there on the water this is one of my favorites. And the inside and outside seating is all very nice. Was pretty busy when we showed up and waited 30 minutes for a table. Everything we got was delicious and the prices were better than we were expecting as well. Highly recommend

Pop in and sit at the bar if you're here on vacation! This was our first stop following a harbor tour and what better way to capture the essence of Maine with some fresh seafood. Friendly staff and delicious seafood. I look forward to returning

We were walking around trying to find a good place with a great atmosphere to eat that didn't have an hour wait when we stumbled upon the Dry Dock. We walked in & we were greeting immediately by 2 friendly gentlemen & put on the waiting list but sat at the bar because it was faster & full service. We ordered calamari which was delicious & had a little kick to it. We also ordered the double decker tower with lots of fresh seafood to choose from, oysters, clams, ceviche. Lobster, shrimp & tuna. My favorite was the tuna next time I will just have a whole order of that. It makes my water to think of it yummmm. We felt very full & happy when we left. I would recommend trying it.

We had a great table in the corner by the window which was excellent with our toddler. Our server, Brian, was wonderful and super friendly. Menu isn't huge but, has enough stuff that should be able to please most. We chose a small fry with the daily dip which was almost like a mayo-based honey mustard dijon and was delicious, with ketchup and vinegar for dipping. Fries were crispy and delicious. We got the green salad and the Cuban to split and loved both. The sandwich was delicious and the green salad was light and refreshing with some really yummy herbs on top to include fennel which isn't usually on a salad but I loved the taste for this one, worked perfectly with the dressing. My husband ordered their house-made cherry soda and let me tell you, best cherry soda of my life! We ordered two bc I drank about half of it. They have a charming outdoor patio area with about 3-4 other tables. Charming spot - def. recommend! Wait can get super long - by the time we left they were quoting over an hour for a table since it's smaller inside and large parties can take up almost all the spaces.

We are so lucky to walk up at 8 pm and get a table. Not any table, but next to the kitchen. It was so awesome to sit there and watch their masterpieces come to life. The amount of pans and flames on the fire was pretty cool. We waited a bit for our waiter, but once he arrived he was attentive and did well. Bread service was delicious. Butter cokes our very cold, we used the candle to warm it. They wait staff got a chuckle out of that and said rush cooks give us melted butter. Ha ha We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer. Deliciously prepared and cooked. Mmmm. I ordered the special--Tuna Ragu My husband sword fish Swordfish was a little over cooked but the flavor was very good. Fish. Delicious. Now let's talk about the tuna Ragu. It was the most delicious strange thing I've had yet on this trip. The homemade pasta was delicate and fluffy yet cooked al dente and soaked up all the sauce/gravy. The tuna had a slight fish taste, but it was fresh- perfect and not over whelming. There had to be a spicy sausage hidden in there because every other bite was bursting with a spicy hint. Absolute perfection! They tried to give us the dessert menu, but we were so full. Inside has a rustic feeling vibe and the low ceilings does make it quite loud. Our server eventually greeted us and took our drink orders. I had a spicy tequila cocktail called Kissies and Poppies while my wife had a gin based cocktail called Secret Garden. Both were decent but nothing special enough to rush back for. Appetizer wise the only one on their menu during our visit was freshly sliced prosciutto which was tasty but did not stand out anymore than your typical grocery store prosciutto. For the main event and the purpose of checking them out my wife got the Shrimp Linguine in Butter and Garlic. I gave their Grilled Lobster Linguine in Butter and Garlic a try. Both dishes had great flavor and they did not skimp on garlic! Lobster does come in shell and our server did warn us. Despite the good taste the slow service really left a sour taste in our mouths. Our reservation was for 9:30 PM (showed up a bit early) and didn't receive food til almost 10:30 or after and we ordered relatively quick. Our server did come over once during our wait saying it would be soon. Though once we got our food the server didn't check on us again til we finished. Maybe it was due to being part of the last meals being served. Not a great excuse but who knows, extremely lackluster service for a higher end spot that should make you feel welcome! We did skip out on dessert to avoid more waiting. Im glad so many people enjoy this spot, but if my wife and I are feeling a nicer dinner we will go elsewhere!

The waitstaff was professional and helpful with menu choices. For a summer night, we found the menu to read more like middle of winter, with heavy food choices including steak, shepherds pie, meatloaf wrapped in bacon, and short rib. While the food is very good, I expected a menu with lighter summer options, maybe incorporating more veggies. Nonetheless, I ordered the short rib which was served over mashed potatoes and spinach. The piece of short rib itself was huge and very tender and flavorful. I was disappointed that they have decided to not serve bread with the meal anymore. It's bread. And for the price we pay for a meal, a few complimentary pieces would have gone a long way. Now, you need to pay for bread if you want it. I also wanted a small side salad with my meal, and not the entrée sized salads available on the menu. Our server was able to give me a bowl of Just greens dressed with their phenomenal vinaigrette dressing. It hit the spot. My husband had the flat iron steak, which he felt was good, but not great. The piece of steak itself was on the smaller side, and he was not a fan of the potato hash or parsnips. Again, heavy winter meal. He did order a side of the mushroom risotto, which was probably one of the best bites of the meal. It was out of this world! This was a good meal, but overall not a great meal. I hope they can pull it together. Maybe the lack of a full house at 6 pm on a Sat summer night should be a call to re-look at what could be improved.

Wanted to find a nice kind of hole in the wall beer bar and just happened to walk down this alley…read moreand stumbled upon Mash Tun. I should have just checked on Yelp since one of my Yelp friends gave this five stars! I have to concur because I stopped her with my co-worker and my husband for a couple of beers and have to say two things: 1) they have a great beer list that rotates frequently, 2) the bartenders are top notch. You know sometimes you go to a cool beer place and it seems like the bartenders want to do ANYTHING but actually give you a beer in exchange for cash? This place is the opposite and it's wonderful. Very helpful with the beer list, suggestions, tastes, etc. They are also quick to offer another beer where as some places it seems like pulling teeth to try to get a beverage. It was lively but not slammed when I was there but I can tell these guys would manage great even if the bar was two or three deep with customers. Yeah, I thing the Mash Tun is one of the best beer bars I've been to and in a place like Portland that is in the top echelon of beer cities, that is an achievement to respect.
