Lobster roll, hot buttered style with fries
    Grace S.

Such a great experience here - easily got an early afternoon reservation with a lovely table overlooking the docks. Service was prompt and friendly! Great ambiance with nautical decor and a fun touch is the lobster tank right in the dining room! Doesn't get much fresher than that! Speaking of lobster, the lobster roll was incredible. Tons of claw meat for a fair price, hot & buttered was delicious on a soft and fresh roll. Comes with a pile of well seasoned fries. Tried the chef's special appetizer, "fish of the day", which was a swordfish skewer with a delicious sauce. Husband loved the blackened fish sandwich! The drinks were a real star here - get the Admiral Nelson! A delicious spicy cocktail that comes in an adorable fish glass. Very high quality food but not pretentious, we felt very comfortable dining here!!

Prime rib and catch of the day, sword fish. Apps: calamari, haddock cheeks and, the best thing.... Mussels!! Top-notch all the way around, including Emily, or server! Thanks to all the staff!

I have tried dry dock a couple times since it reopened. I love the outdoor patio in the summer where you can head out there and grab a drink from the outdoor bar. It is limited in what you can order but has most options. I sat a the bar one time and got the chicken sandwich, it was good! I just wish the fish piece was a little bigger as the bun covered up most of the fish, but that could have just been a one time thing. I have also sat upstairs and the vibe is very nice upstairs even in the colder weather. I got the burger and it was very good with the special sauce. Their cava and dirty martini are both great as well. They also have some other cool drink options! Overall great new spot with friendly service!

I have been to Dry Dock a couple of times now, and I'm a big fan! Initially, I had some reservations (as usual when a new place opens up in Portland). Is it going to be a tourist trap?! Is the food going to be mediocre?! Based on my experience, the answer is no to both. The food has been incredible, the staff exceptional, and the space impressive. It's so expansive -- two whole floors, ocean views, Commercial Street views, bar seating... there's something for everyone. Unlike its sister restaurant, Luke's Lobster, Dry Dock doesn't seem to get as packed (which I absolutely love), although that may change during the summer. We've tried a lot of their menu and found everything quite delicious. Their burger is one of my husband's favorites in town. Their chorizo soup and chowder are both to die for. We recently had the friend cod cheeks, and it was a hit. Their dips are also phenomenal. The ceviche was the only dish we've had that didn't wow us. The addition of sweet potato was an interesting choice that I don't think added a lot of flavor. Prices are fair when considering location and quality. Overall, we've had a great experience at Dry Dock and will continue going back there. I think it's one of the best restaurants on Commercial St.

Went here a few weeks ago and we loved it. Out of all the restaurants right there on the water this is one of my favorites. And the inside and outside seating is all very nice. Was pretty busy when we showed up and waited 30 minutes for a table. Everything we got was delicious and the prices were better than we were expecting as well. Highly recommend

Pop in and sit at the bar if you're here on vacation! This was our first stop following a harbor tour and what better way to capture the essence of Maine with some fresh seafood. Friendly staff and delicious seafood. I look forward to returning

Recently just re-opened with the same name as before DRY DOCK. One of my favorite nieces works for the main office doing graphic design. She's very good at her job & loves what she does. Our wait person Jeff was a true hoot of a person. Thank you Jeff for doing all you do to make our meal such a success. Jeff a true gentleman with a gift of gab. So all in all I forgot to take pictures of all our meals which were memorable. We started off with a small tower which was plenty except I didn't get any lobster The rest of the tower was very good & fresh, a good appetizer to share. One of us got 2 halibut sliders & a ceasar salad with no complaints. The fish & chips my wife had was great. The fries perfectly done & a very tasty coleslaw. How was the tartar sauce you ask? No idea I wasn't offered any to try. Next up brother in law & I both had the halibut special of the night. We both enjoyed it but truth be told both pieces were overcooked & dry. Usually I speak up at restaurants & voice my pleasure or displeasure. Tonight I was on my best behavior. The restaurant was loud & very full of paying customers. Yes we 'll be back to try other items on the menu.

We were walking around trying to find a good place with a great atmosphere to eat that didn't have an hour wait when we stumbled upon the Dry Dock. We walked in & we were greeting immediately by 2 friendly gentlemen & put on the waiting list but sat at the bar because it was faster & full service. We ordered calamari which was delicious & had a little kick to it. We also ordered the double decker tower with lots of fresh seafood to choose from, oysters, clams, ceviche. Lobster, shrimp & tuna. My favorite was the tuna next time I will just have a whole order of that. It makes my water to think of it yummmm. We felt very full & happy when we left. I would recommend trying it.

Excellent lobster roll! Perfect buttered and grilled bun, nothing but lobster filling. Delicious French fries. Super chill vibe inside, nice view, super service from Bry P. Loved it all!

Such a great spot on the water. Came here with my girlfriends recently for drinks and snacks and we had a great time. The space is bright and airy, there are 2 floors of seating and outdoor patios as well with water views. The food we had was solid, good bar food but limited options for vegetarians so take that into consideration. Definitely a seafood spot. Cocktails were very tasty and fun, mocktails available as well but a bit overpriced for those. Standout was the service, the bartender Ana took care of us and she was delightful. Will definitely be back again, can't wait to sit outside here in the summer!

great summer spot! they have outdoor dining on the second floor deck and an outside bar area on the first floor deck the oysters were great & the mussels and haddock were really good though not the best seafood in town

Looks like this place just opened weeks before our visit. And what a great addition to waterfront restaurants! Most of the existing ones are crap. Their food sucks - you are just paying for being able to sit by the water. But Dry Dock brought its A game - we got a platter of seafood and even asked for an extra whole lobster. Everything was fresh, service was par, drinks came out fast, and the outdoor seating is clean! Definitely will be back on our next visit.

This review is only for service, drinks and dog friendly deck with views. A welcome transformation from the dumpy tourist trap to a somewhat upscale seafood dining and drinking experience on the waterfront. There are only a couple places on the Portland harbor for dining. Service was really friendly and drinks great. Can't wait to try food!

The Maine lobster roll (mayo-based) was good with a slightly lemony flavor maybe but expensive at $41 - maybe that's the going rate but it seemed slightly high. They have a three smaller lobster roll flight but I am pretty sure it's the same price as just buying three small lobster rolls. The mac and cheese was disappointing. It had a slightly slimy texture and the pasta was mushy. The clam chowder was fine but tasted like it had been reheated and not made all that recently. I had a lobster roll from their food truck a few years ago that I ate outside on a summer day and it felt special. This visit did not feel that way and instead more of a perfunctory meal. I think more attention to detail on the sides and no lobster rolls in the 40 dollar range for what feels like a casual establishment would be improvements.

They have dedicated parking spots for customers. I called while driving from Brunswick to the airport... asked to have 6 "heavy" live lobsters boxed up for travel as carry-on for my flight. The call lasted about 4 minutes... I arrived about 30 min later... walked in... box was waiting for me and I walked out to my car parked directly in front of the door. WOWOWOW!!! If I had more time or lived locally I would be there weekly to pick up some fresh seafood... there were so many options and the place was super clean and everything looked fresh. They also have an easy to use website to order local pickup or if you need something shipped to you. Everything here is just SO good, even across multiple visits over many years. I always love that their menu incorporates seasonal flavors, while keeping their all time favorites. We've tried a number of dishes here over the years, but favorites will always include the cloverleaf rolls, grilled octopus, crab fritters, scallops, and the bavette steak. All are excellent & flavors are well balanced. On a recent trip, we tried the steamers and seafood stew. The steamers are huge and the broth is absolutely delicious. The seafood stew is tasty, rich & bold in flavors, but does get a little heavy and salty after a while. Scallops are a must - the spring pea cream had perfect freshness & earthiness that balanced out the salt from the bacon & scallops. Service here is always really attentive. The restaurant is also beautiful - perfect for a date night, girl's night out, business dinner, or even just a nicer family dinner out.

Our server described to us the specials for appetizers but never said anything about entree specials (maybe there weren't any?). We ordered the cloverleaf rolls, a cup of clam chowder, a cup of lobster bisque, and the maine mussels before our entrees. Both the clam chowder and the lobster bisque were just ok.. nothing special. The bisque was too sweet and had very little lobster. The mussels were the highlight of the meal. The sauce of cider, mustard and dill was very interesting and had deep flavor. The bread served with the mussels was also delicious. The cloverleaf rolls were great too, but perhaps a little too soggy/greasy from the butter at the bottom of the skillet. For our entrees we had the scallops and the halibut. The scallops were delicious- nicely seared and served with mushrooms and a green pea sauce which was bright and flavorful. The halibut however was not my favorite. The fish itself was cooked very well with a crispy skin, but it was swimming in brown butter and hazelnuts and lacked depth of flavor. It also seemed like an odd choice of flavors for a spring menu. It was served with potatoes that needed a bit more salt. We were too full for dessert and also didn't finish our meals. We sat around for a fairly long time not touching our meals without the server checking on us. Eventually we had to flag them down to get boxes and pay the check. While the ambiance was very nice, for the price and the reputation we expected more. Everything else we have eaten in Portland so far has been fantastic so it was a bit of a letdown.
