There are many restaurants that offer lobster and seafood in Portland and surrounding areas. This place is at par with most of them but I didn't find their food to be exceptional - the lobster rolls were good; the haddock plate came with the fish deep fried, which may be a popular way for fish but not exactly my taste. Parries were overly sweet - so sweet that I could only took one bite. But the VIEW here is unlike most, or perhaps all, the other restaurants! It is right on the cliff and offers expansive views of the ocean! Dining room is very small; outdoor is very nice if and when weather permits. It was very windy the day I went. Overall I think this is a tourist spot. Worth a visit.

We are visiting from CA. I told my friends I needed to have a lobster roll and this is where they took us. So classic! They views are iconic. The vibe is perfect. And the lobster rolls on point. I can't have one outside of the NE area.

Visited on the last day of our trip. It was rainy but I think that helped the 7 of us grab a table right away. The fisherman shack vibes are right there, especially with a direct view of the water (and lighthouse view from outside). The clam shower was great on this rainy day (a tad runny for me, but flavors were great), and I really enjoyed this lobster roll. I tried many while in town and like how they were all a tad different. The pickle on this was great and the lobster was a great fresh texture and taste.

This place is worth it to go just for the views. I would give the actual food a 3/5 but the prices weren't terrible and the service was pretty quick. Really worth it to go at sunset.

Let start off with the good things scenery and view are amazing outside picnic tables and plenty of them staff was great prices are fair . Clams strips was very very good but my only problem was the lobster roll was flavorless .

Beautiful view and amazing lobster roll! This was our first food stop during our trip in Maine, and we loved the experience. The staff that helped us was knowledgeable and helpful in answering our questions. A little spendy but feel like that's to be expected for fresh lobster and the gorgeous ocean front view.

OVERPRICED. But it was still tasty. The lobster roll was good but nothing jaw dropping to me. Fries were good. I really did enjoy my fried clams though, but they were quite expensive for the portions. The inside of the shack itself is crowded and hot, but the outdoor area is much more lively. I think I enjoyed going down to the water the most here, and the shack happens to be here.

The lobster roll boat was a good deal with fries and coleslaw. I really like the toppings that it came with and the sides. I wish the fries came with some type of seasoning. Overall, the roll was pretty good and tasted fresh. There is a lot of seating inside and outside with the water view. The wait went by fast. The fried clams were good, but not worth $30 for the portion.

I tried The Lobster Shack after vising the Portland Head Light. It's a little bit of a drive, but offered some beautiful views and a place to grab some lobster rolls. The views from the Lobster Shack are incredible. It's a great place to watch the waves crash with lots of outdoor tables. If you'd prefer you can also sit inside in their seating area and watch the view from one of the windows. They have standard lobster pound menu with seafood, lobster, lobster rolls, and even some non-sea food and vegetarian options. I tried their lobster roll and clam chowder. The food was solid, but it was definitely no frills. It was tasty, but not the most delicious lobster roll that I've ever had. As a heads up, the parking lot can get quite hectic here with limited spots, and the line can be quite long. Be ready to be patient, but overall the staff does a good job of trying to get your food out quickly and placing orders quickly. All in all, the food is decent, but the real star of the show is the unmatched views of the coast.

What a pretty place to eat! Location was gorgeous. Scallop boat was yummy and Cole slaw was flavorful! We loved everything but the clam chowder, it was supper runny with no clams and not much flavor. Would come back for the view! Recommend the scallops, shrimp or lobster roll. Fries are also good!

Great food, high prices. I enjoyed a lovely weekend with my mother in Maine and checked out Cape Elizabeth and checked out The Lobster Shack. For fried clams and a lobster roll(which runs surprisingly small!), it cost $70.38. A price that I feel is a bit high, especially with Maine Lobster running $8.99/lb at Hannaford. That said, the lobster was perfectly cooked, and instead of putting only claws in the roll, it had tender tail meat. It took about 15 minutes for my meal to be ready and before my number was called. Yes, I would go back again with visiting friends as the view and meal was good, it just left me stopping on my way out of Maine for another meal.

Such a cute little spot right by the ocean! The Lobster Shack is tiny inside with limited seating, but there's plenty of room outside to sit, relax, and take in the beautiful ocean view--which really adds to the experience. We ordered the lobster dinner and a lobster roll--both were fresh and tasty. I love the simplicity of this place--nothing fancy, just good food in a great setting. We'd definitely come back next time we're in the area!

More like 3.5 stars. Great location, got to enjoy the waterfront views. Busy spot too - condiment/soda area got very crowded. Small parking lot. Got a lobster roll and my non seafood eating partner got a hotdog which he enjoyed - was served in the lobster roll buns. This ended up being the only lobster roll I had in New England and it was pretty small, nice but small.

We started with the fish chowder since they didn't have clam chowder. This was probably the only dish that felt average to me, although my husband really enjoyed it. Everything else was a completely different story. The raw seafood was so fresh. We tried the oysters, clams, scallops, and spoons, and every bite tasted clean, fresh, and high quality. The prices were also surprisingly reasonable compared to a lot of other places serving similar seafood. For our entrees, we both went with the hot butter lobster roll. It was classic, simple, and exactly what I expected a good lobster roll to taste like. For the price, I definitely think it was worth it. The restaurant has a casual, laid back ambiance, which fits perfectly with the no frills seafood experience. It's a great spot if you're looking for something relaxed rather than fancy. Service was attentive, friendly, and overall great. If you're in Portland and craving seafood without wanting to spend a fortune, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

We went super Maine and got a Moxie and whoopie pie with our order. Note: Moxie is nostalgic for me so I don't necessarily recommend it unless you like bubble gum almost root beer flavor. As for whoopie pies, I've never liked them and shouldn't have ordered that lol This is a food truck, so after you order, you'll wait a little for your name to be called. Since it's in a park, you can find your own picnic bench or bring a picnic blanket. Do know they only have a trash can near them so if you sit farther you'll need to go back to the truck to throw your trash away. They have different styles of lobster rolls to pick from and different sizes. I got the Maine style lobster roll and devoured each and every last bite. I loved it and so did my bestie. It's worth the wait and the view.
