We shared three dishes - beef stew, drunken noodles with tofu and beef ribs. They were all really good. The ribs were meaty, slightly sweet and fell off the bone. Served with a sunny side up egg, spinach and rice. There was an egg with the stew as well and it made the dish feel silky. The beef seemed slow cooked and the basmati rice went well. The tiramisu was solid, light and airy and very pretty plating. Service was a little apathetic, but the food was good enough to offset. Reasonable prices too. Truly this is my favorite hidden gem restaurant in State College. Every time we go, I have to get the Spicy Miso Ramen with Beef. It is truly incredible and has ruined other ramen for me because of how good it is. I compare every ramen I get to it and they never measure up. If you do not really have a tolerance for spice, you can ask for it less spicy. We also got the chicken and duck rolls, both are very good. I do not know if there is a menu item in this restaurant that's bad. The seafood explosion is delicious and so is the popcorn chicken. This was a co-workers recommendation. I would not have guessed that it was an "asian fusion" type restaurant by the name. It's tucked back in Calder Way and off the main drag. There is a metered parking lot nearby or you can find a garage that's 3 blocks away. We were quickly seated and service was great. The restaurant was clean, small and interesting. They have tables with swings for chairs? Unfortunately, we sat in regular chairs. I'm not sure if this place was something else previously but there was some out of place decor. The menu has a variety of asian inspired options with rice or noodles. Some options were familar and others were new to me. Food presentation was excellent. Our party, in general, raved about their dishes. I got the kimchi fried rice and thought there would have been pieces of kimchi throughout but no. We went a Saturday evening in June. It wasn't busy at the time we went. Minimal decor which I didn't really mind . They have swings as seats. Food was delicious. There's not much Asian dishes around the area as we were visiting and heavily depended on the reviews of other establishments. So this was the place to be. OMG YUM. This little place is tucked in an alcove and can be hard to find if not familiar with the area, but well worth the search! I had a ribeye stir fry and cheeseburger wontons and both were absolutely delicious. My friends enjoyed the chicken stir fried rice, which came in a bowl topped with fried chicken and an egg. This restaurant is tucked in a little side street in State College that I was glad to come across. The restaurant was very clean and had a nice modern decor. One thing that stood out was that in the one seating section one half of the table party had a swing that served as the chair. I did it try it since I was a single but the couple next to me each took a turn using it and enjoyed it. My Kimchi fried rice with pork was delicious and the pork was very tender and flavorful. So I adore small plates and this restaurant has a scrumptious assortment. We ordered the Seafood Explosion (my favorite), Bacon Cheeseburger Dumplings, and Crispy Duck Roll starters. Plus Kimchi Bulgogi Tots, Ramen, and Vegetarian Curry Meatballs. We shared family-style. The service was attentive, fast and helpful -- one of our party ordered beef with ramen and the wait person kindly prompted "pork?" The suggestion was gentle, appreciated and phenomenal. Ordered the chocolate lava cake, and it was unfortunately a big disappointment. The menu stated it was homemade and took 15 minutes to make, but it came out in about 5 minutes and suspiciously tasted like a cake sold at the grocery store. The menu also stated the cake was filled with green tea ganache and served with green tea ice cream, but did not come with either (just came with vanilla ice cream and minimal chocolate ganache). When we asked our waitress about this, she stated they "were out of green tea ice cream". Pretty slow service overall as well. I'm honestly kind of surprised with my experience considering all the good reviews. Genuinely confused by their menu since it seems like a heavy appetizer and dessert place but is advertised as a ramen place on Yelp? I ordered the "Cheese Me Up Ramen" and "Chocolate Matcha Lava Cake". Ramen was subpar at best. Honestly kinda surprised there wasn't any soup since that wasn't how it was depicted in the menu. Not to mention, the ramen was dry and tasted like instant ramen with a few toppings I easily could've put in myself. The portion was big and definitely worth the $13 though. As for the lava cake, it resembled a very similar dessert offered in NYC (as for a few of their other desserts --- so overall not very creative). I tried not to be bias and had high hopes when it came out, but the presentation wasn't as pictured and the taste just didn't compare. The waitress was extremely polite and even apologized for interrupting our conversation to ask us how our food was. But my friend and I were sitting there for ~40-45 minutes waiting for someone to hand us our check before we just asked for it ourselves. Within this time frame, our plate was clearly empty and multiple waiters had come and refilled our water. Me and my homie go out to eat every Tuesday and almost always try a new place. Ive eaten almost everywhere in state college now and this was one of our favorites. The food is worth the money. Its all so good and fun to try as they have a unique asian fusion going on. The tea is also really good. Served in a little kettle with little glass cups that make you sip and really take in and enjoy the flavor. The swing seats are cool and i like being able to see into the kitchen so you can watch some cooking action and know its not some high 16 yo just bare handing with dirty hands all day. Then with the calamari, perfectly fried with mango salsa. As well with the signature ramen, so tasty. For desserts we ordered bistrozine's signature pie, something that we never had before and so glad we tried it. It's always nice when a new place opens up in town.... even if it's _another_ Asian-influenced restaurant. Our group of 6 pretty much chomped its way through most of the small plate section (10 dishes total). Although we hadn't ordered the wings, they showed up at our table, whereas the bacon cheeseburger dumplings we had ordered never made it. That was a-ok in the end, as it was *plenty* of food, and most of the dishes are deep-fried. Much as I like deep-fried things, it does make for a fairly monotonous dining experience. While I'm not sure whether there are plans to change the menu in the future, a few more fresh/grilled/steamed items would be a great addition. I think there's exactly one salad on the menu at this point. The highlights of the meal were the crispy mashed potato, the ocean explosion, the ribs, the BLT, and the calamari. The ribs would've been absolutely perfect without the 'honey chipotle aioli': fall-apart tender and flavorful. The menu in general is a little heavy on dipping sauces (a few variations on tomato/marinara sauce) and verrry heavy on the mayo. The Asian-spiced edamame were unusual & tasty, but a little undercooked. I'm also still trying to wrap my head around what's "Asian" about a coating of mayo, Parmesan & Cajun seasoning. The Mac & Cheese were disappointing -- too much batter to actual mac & cheese ratio, and the (tomato) dipping sauce was sweet in a way more fitting for dessert. The fact that one of the table has swings for chairs is a nice touch for kids, teens, or silly adults '-) I will def be back to try some of the main dishes -- like the ramen, chicken fried rice, and braised short ribs.
