Momotaro had an extremely long line when I got there Arts Fest weekend. I waited in the line and tried to look at the menu on the board but it was super hard to read for a person who does not have college aged eyes haha. Luckily I already knew what I wanted to drink. I ordered a large matcha bubble tea and thought it was well priced for State College compared to the other places I have ordered this from in town. I was in the store for about 30 min between waiting in line, ordering and waiting for my matcha. Finally my drink arrived and while it was beautiful, it did not have a sealed top so I wasn't sure how I was supposed to shake it. Once I kinda stirred/shaked it easily I finally drank it and it was good. I prob wouldn't come back here again tho bc of the long long wait.

Brown sugar boba and fruity red

We tried their rolled ice cream (original base, strawberry flavor, with mochi and almonds, and a mango drizzle) and it was VERY GOOD! My bf had the fruit red tea drink with tapioca and I had the brown sugar tea with tapioca and both were delicious as well! This is a pretty good place for all my fellow boba lovers out there, so I definitely recommend! A bubble tea/sweets shop in a much needed campus area such as State College is very appreciated, I'm sure!

Momotaro is probably my favorite place to get bubble tea in State College. Their bubbles are the perfect consistency, and they have a pretty wide range of drinks. CANNOT RAVE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR MANGO SAGO DRINK! So delicious and hits the spot. Took one star off just because of their prices. Pretty expensive, especially their other menu items, like pastries/cakes. Their slices of cake are RIDICULOUSLY pricy for what they are, so I always pass on them.

Cutely served limoncello and opera with some ice water.

This is a bakery cum cafe cum ice cream parlor. Serving lots of desserts and drinks options. I tried two of their pastries, opera and limoncello mascarpone, and they were indulging. Though all the bakery items seemed overpriced with about $16+ for two pastries. Unfortunately, since there is no better competition in this small town we have no other place to go. I would be going back to try their bubble tea and ice cream rolls. The place was decently busy with students going in n out during the non busy hours. Their flavors are spot on. So, unless there is any other centrally located equally inviting serving delightful desserts place opening in this area, they can charge whatever, we would go back once in a while to indulge in the sweetness to satiate those cravings. P.S. potential to become 'the dessert' place of the town however weighed down by their overpriced menu.

Best place for boba tea and most interesting desserts. Whenever I visit my son on campus, we come in to try something new. The menu offers so much. Don't be afraid to try something new

Stopped here on our way from Pittsburgh to New York. I ordered the Green Tea Matcha Latte with boba. Tasted really good. Perfect sweetness, slight bitterness from the matcha and chewy soft boba. Surprisingly better boba than places in Pittsburgh! Comparable to LA/NYC quality.

What I Got: - Caramel Brûlée Cheese Tea (Large) Price: $6.09 Caramel Brûlée Cheese Tea - amazing caramel milk tea taste, 11/10 - crunchy brûlée at the top - cold milk tea in the middle - warm boba balls at the bottom Service: - took around 5 minutes to get Improvements: - n/a Worth the Value? - yes, yes, yes

This cute, cozy cafe satisfied my boba craving! I was pleasantly surprised at the variety and customizable options offered here - in State College, it's definitely among the best. It also seems like a cute place to work or study, and I loved the decor! Having lived in Atlanta for a few years, I felt spoiled by the bubble tea scene - I swear I am probably 75% boba at this point. I stopped by after noticing the cute peach (and slightly butt-ish) logo, and ordered the mashed taro milk tea with 25% sugar and less ice. The cashier was very helpful and kindly explained that it's made with oolong milk tea, with taro chunks and boba at the bottom, and can be hot or cold. The tea flavor was a bit too light, but delightfully floral, and the warm boba was at an ideal chewiness and sweetness. I loved the taro chunks, and found it not too aggressively artificial tasting. The only critique I'd have is that you have to mix the drink yourself, and since the cup is pretty tall, it's hard to do so with the straw provided. You can't seem to shake it either, since it comes with a coffee lid. It's also on the pricier side, at $5.99 a drink. (I decided to be hella Asian and pull the sticker on the cup off for decor - it's too cute to throw away!) Overall, based on my experience, this adorable and unique cafe seems like a solid and worthwhile place to get your boba fix!

Matcha ice cream with cheesecake and strawberry drizzle. Topped with mini mochi (delicious!!), cookie, and, cookie stick.

Rolled ice cream was delicious! First time at Momotaro but will be back for dessert again. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. Workers were nice and helpful. Thanks Momotaro!

    Creme Caramel Brulee Cheese Tea

This is my absolute favorite place to get milk tea. This is the Creme brûlée cheese tea it's incredible. If you haven't had this before it's basically brown sugar milk tea with cheese. They even melt the sugar on top of the cheese so it's like real creme brûlée. The shop is super cute and the staff is always super nice! They have a million drink combos you can get and also have a whole dessert case and rolled ice cream!

    Awesome Tiramisu!

3.5/5 I haven't really tried their rolled ice cream and stuff cause I'm not a big fan of just ice cream... more of a cake/pastry kind of person. However, I did have the tiramisu which was fantastic with a little extra hint of the coffee flavor that I really liked. Would definitely recommend it I did also have the chocolate cheesecake, can't remember the exact name and forgot to take a picture, but that one was just ok.

I have to say that it was a strange little place. I was hoping for a really good cup of coffee. But I've had better gas station coffee. I think they have really good rolled ice cream, though. We had a little bit of everything from the bubble juice to the drinks and ice cream. The place was fairly clean. I would say, step up your coffee offerings. It should really be high quality made super fresh. I don't know. I'm not a huge fan. Maybe a better rolled ice cream joint will ROLL into town.

Matcha rolled ice cream was tasty and covered in treats. Perfect to share with a friend or significant other.

To start, I live in Philly & my daughter was Penn State Altoona at the time & on 4/26/26 she turned 20yrs old and this was the first time I wasn't going to celebrating with her and being hands on with all the plans. But with the secret help of her College Friends I was able to plan an amazing Birthday weekend in state college for all of them to enjoy but the most stressful thing was find her the perfect Cake!! Her friends wanted to go to pick one up from a Supermarket but because I wasn't going to be there I wanted to make everything about her Bday super special and a market cake wasn't going to work unfortunately in addition they were college kids with no vehicles I didn't want to put that taste on them and it may or many not get done. I was now less then 2wks from her Bday weekend and just now starting the search for the perfect "I'm sorry Mommy couldn't be there but hopefully this amazingly crafted artwork now called your Bday Cake makes up for it" type of Cake. So my 3-4hrs long search begun..I needed to find a Bakery that could make her a cake that not only looked good but tastes even better (I have been disappointed in the past so my research was on the First 48 level, ...a bad cake can ruin entire Bday in my opinion. In addition, I needed discreet delivery services. After hours of searching, reading reviews & scanning every social media accounts as well as any and all websites that mentioned their names to ensure all T's were crossed and the reviews were actually verified by real people before choosing Dolce Vita Desserts. Their designs were all so creative & beautifully done and after emailing a few times with Anthony he not only confirmed my specific request but he also ensure that they could/would customize to design I preferred..so I took two Of their designs (because I loved them both and couldn't decide one over the other) and made it one :) I also explained to Anthony my need desperately need for delivery ..( their site mentioned how delivery was limited) I was willing to send it as uber package delivery even I was praying I wouldn't have to do that. But, Anthony not only approved my delivery he also advised me to touch bases with the Hotel staff and provide them with the box dimensions to ensure their fridge would be able fit/store and also gave specifics on how to properly store ...information I didn't even think to consider. I whole heartily appreciate all that Anthony has done to help make my daughter's Birthday super special. Everything was executed seamlessly, even down to the delivery confirmation email I received from Both Dolce & the Hotel. My daughter not only loved her surprise bday weekend but she was in love with her cake!! I ordered the 6" inch round white cake with strawberry preserves. I thought that since only my daughter & 3 of her friends were celebrating with her that they would take the left over cake to share with others at their dorm but she told me the cake was so good they devoured it. Not one crumb was left. Which was done after making a photo shoot with the cake! She loved everything about that cake! My only regret...is the fact that I wasn't able to try it myself! I recommend Dolce Vita Desserts to every one! You won't be disappointed!!

As fate would have it, my Adventure Buddy and I found ourselves in State College on National Ice Cream Day, and there was absolutely no way I was leaving town without finally visiting the home of my favorite ice cream flavor ever...Monkey Business (banana ice cream, peanut butter swirl, chocolate chips). I'd fallen in love with Monkey Business last summer after trying it at an ice cream shop close to my house, but somehow I'd never actually made it to the Creamery itself. Correcting that oversight immediately became part of the day's adventure plan! We arrived around 12:30 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, fully expecting National Ice Cream Day to mean complete chaos. Surprisingly, it wasn't. Busy? Absolutely. But the line moved quickly, everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing and the whole operation ran like a well-oiled ice cream machine. Then I looked around. Cheese. Sticky buns. Chocolate milk. Bagels. Ice cream. Ice cream. More ice cream. At one point I turned to my Adventure Buddy and said..."I could live here." Ordering couldn't have been easier. First, you tell the cashier whether you're getting a cone, bowl or shake and pay. Then you move down to the ice cream counter, where you pick your flavor. Finally...you wait for your number to be called so someone can hand you what can only be described as an absurdly generous serving of happiness. While I waited, I sampled the Grilled Stickies flavor. Big mistake! It was phenomenal! For approximately fifteen seconds, I seriously considered abandoning my beloved Monkey Business and trying something new. Fortunately...I came to my senses. Monkey Business and I have history together. When my number was called, the gentleman behind the counter handed me a bowl that was significantly larger than I expected. And yes...I audibly squealed. Again. Right there in the middle of the Creamery. I looked at him and said, "You absolutely made my day!" Because he had. We found a table outside on the patio to enjoy the beautiful weather, performed a few completely necessary happy food dances and proceeded to enjoy every glorious bite of what is still, without question, my favorite ice cream flavor on Earth. For only $6. On National Ice Cream Day. Honestly, I don't know how that day could've gotten any better. PRO TIP: Don't skip the sample spoon! There are so many incredible flavors that it's worth trying something new before committing. Just be warned...you may accidentally discover another favorite! I also learned that Berkey Creamery ships ice cream to the lower 48 states. This information feels...dangerous. Living only about an hour and a half away, I probably don't need to have Monkey Business shipped directly to my house. But...I may have to test the process someday. You know...in the name of science! If you're anywhere near State College, do yourself a favor and make the stop. Whether you're a Penn State fan, an ice cream enthusiast or just someone who appreciates an exceptionally well-run small operation, Berkey Creamery absolutely lives up to its legendary reputation.
