Fast and kind service & some great coffee! We love a good coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Thoroughly enjoyed the caramel black salt latte and the double chocolate muffin. The latte wasn't too sweet, and the salt was a nice touch. The muffin was flavorful and baked well. I almost went back to order another! Glad to come back again and a great spot to stop by.

Best macchiato I've had in the States. Was in town for a football game and we had to try a local coffee shop. Stopped by here early in the morning and this spot came in clutch. Great coffee, cool space, and willing to serve fans cheering for the road team haha. People were great here and so was the coffee!

Why 5 stars? Because they were there for me when I needed them. Twice! Sunday, 7:30am, dropped hubby at conference on campus. We're staying at rustic cabin and did not bring coffee fixins. One of the only, if not only, LOCAL coffee shops open on Sunday at this time. Thank you! Then... I ordered two to go drinks and a few muffins. Did not want carrier - waste reduction. But I couldn't click the door latch to get out. Staff happily hopped out from behind corner to give me a hand. Thank you! Oh, and the drip coffee, hot cocoa, latte, banana nut muffin and double chocolate muffin were all great according to my tastebuds and my boys'. Inside is cute. And I love the to go cup wraps. Maybe next time I can just sit and enjoy.

This is a great place for coffee. Their standard pour is a really good price for the area, and their fun drinks are spectacular! It's a decently sized place too, and the ambience is nice for studying. Love it here!

I like the coffee art! Been so long since a coffee shop I've been to has put in the effort and skill to do it. I wish it was in a larger cup with a bit more milk, since the amount of milk foam was small and it tasted more like a cortado than a cappuccino.

Latte art makes me happy. Any time that I'm up at Big Penn State, I stop at Elixr in the morning for an oat milk latte. The baristas are always quick and friendly. 10/10 latte. I haven't indulged yet, but their breakfast pastries look amazing, especially the croissants.

Really great coffee. Got oatmilk lattes with cinnamon and honey, barista was on point that day because it was really yummy. Store is relatively small on a busy street and was packed when I went in. Good customer service and got my latte quickly.

Very chill spot for coffee. Workers were super helpful and nice. The drinks were made quick and came out delicious. Prices were reasonable and they also had many pastries to choose from. Will definitely stop again!

This was a great find in December of 2023. When we travel through the area, we stop. It is always crowded and the coffee is always good. A go to place at State College.

Cute new coffee shop in State College. I overheard Folks talking about the coffee shop that had been in this location prior which made me realize this was brand new. Very cute inside you feel more like you're in a big city than in small State College. The cappuccino is delicious the design details inside are very well thought out. Prices seem to be too high for your average college kid but when parents come to town it would be a great place to take them

Visiting family in town and went in search of an Oatmilk latte. Found a fantastic one at Elixir -caramel smooth coffee and great layer of foam. We were also delighted to discover locally made croissants, pain au chocolat (chocolate croissants), and almond croissants that are to die for! Just as tasty as Paris! We bought a bunch to bring back to the family for breakfast and everyone agreed. Lovely interior with plenty of comfortable seating and friendly service. You

Good coffee, good service, awesome spot! It's usually packed and is small inside, so if you're coming to do work (this is the perfect spot) come EARLY. Like--when they open early. Caramel latte and strawberry latte were both delicious.

Modern cute coffee shop with nice branded ceramic and glassware to serve their coffees and pastries. Their coffee is good, as are their pastries - but the pastries are quite pricey. A single croissant is $7! I guess that's what happens when there's only one French bakery within a 50mile radius. I do appreciate that the croissants come from a local French bakery, so I love that I get to support them. I would recommend getting the Kopi Sanger!

Great place. Coffee, ambiance and service are all great. I wish they have a broader menu and more variety on food.

Excellent pour-over coffee. As good as any available in Center City Philadelphia. My new go-to in State College.

In addition to coffee and tea, they offer breakfast sandwiches and pastries, along with locally made goods such as flavored balsamic vinegar, customized Keurig pods, candles, and chocolates. The main area has standard tables, while comfortable couches and chairs are tucked away behind a vault door. They offer a regular menu as well as a monthly rotating board. *Egg, Cheese, and Sausage Sandwich: was served on an everything bagel. While nothing stood out as exceptional, the components were serviceable. The egg was slightly dry, and the sausage was salty and greasy. The bagel was fluffy, but the overall texture was quite soft throughout. A sauce would have added depth, spice, or acidity and improved the sandwich. *Sweater Weather Chai: was a seasonal blend of chai and hot cocoa. Although it leaned sweet due to the cocoa, the spiced chai still came through clearly. It was a comforting and rich drink with deep chocolate flavor. *Nutcracker Chai: another seasonal offering. The chai was once again fragrant and warming with subtle praline notes. However, it could have been served a bit hotter as it arrived slightly tepid. Bason Coffee Roasting offers great ambiance and consistently good chai. I would likely pick up a sandwich elsewhere nearby and stop here primarily for drinks.

I've spent a ton of time in serious coffee shops from Shanghai to New York with Q graders and baristas with bonafides. Alabaster can stand up to the best of them. The coffees we tried were fantastic. The Rwandan was delicious and the roast complimented the natural expression of the beans. My dad got the Ugandan which was awesome as well. I grabbed a bag of the Salvadoran beans to take home, and it brews up an amazingly clean and interesting cup (I used a V60). One of the better cafes I've visited in the U.S. with a roaster that knows what they're doing. On top of all that, the tahini date banana bread we tried was seriously good and wasn't a premade, mass produced baked good like so many cafes have resorted to in recent years. On top of that, the cafe was beautiful with reclaimed wood tables. We were traveling with our dog and they allowed her in because she was well-behaved. Nice people, awesome cafe, world-class coffee, and seriously good pastries. Keep up the incredible work! I will be back to Williamsport for more.

There were plenty of outlets along the walls, which made it relatively easy to study. There was a lot of foot traffic, but the overall ambiance did not get too rowdy, providing pleasant white noise. There were a few seasonal specials, but otherwise the selection was not very large. The tea selection was rather small, especially considering it is part of their name. Drinks came out extremely quickly. There was a dish tub near the entrance to drop items off after finishing. I tried their seasonal egg nog cappuccino, and it came out lightly warm. The egg foam was not overwhelming and the spiced notes were well incorporated into the drink. It was not too sweet and gave me a pleasant buzz. I hope to see more diverse tea options in the future, but the overall feel and quality of this cafe were great.

I saw online that seating inside is limited, so we went early; good thing we did. The service is very friendly, the employees work together as though they are family. The food options are very creative and portions generous. I had the semolina pancakes with strawberries. Hubby had the Bulgogi toaster. Both were delicious. It took a while to get our food, but it was worth the wait. From the outside, it looks like an old bar, but inside is a comfortable coffee shop. Tables outside too. The Sawhorse Cafe, Williamsport Pa…read more The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I'd say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly "woke" vibe. I've gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn't. The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren't standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up. The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table. However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we've done it many times before and most people do. We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes. We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.
