Great doughnuts, absolutely terrible service. Waited for a long time for one of the 3 or 4 people working to be bothered to come take our order. All hanging out in the office or the back. Doughnuts were done and sitting there for a couple minutes but no employees to be found. Asked the one sitting in the office and she said they have to cool first but 2 of them had been sitting there since we ordered while the other 4 cooked. These donuts have a very thick and cake-like texture that I was throw off by at first but then came to like. me and my friend went in for the first time one afternoon, the place was completely empty except for 2 employees, so we thought we would be out relatively soon. After we placed our order, we waited nearly 20 minutes for 6 donuts and a refresher which didn't come out until 5 minutes after the donuts did. Very delicious! I had high hopes from reading other reviews and Duck Donuts did NOT disappoint. My favorite was the lemon glaze with raspberry jam. Yum!! We went around 3 PM so the service was lacking, but I would chalk that up to us being the only ones in the shop and there was a big necessity for employees to be around. But it was difficult to ask for something once our donuts came out because they could not hear us. The shop was decorated very cute but the tables and chairs had not been cleaned recently and were sticky. The seating was not very comfortable. read more

Delicious donuts made fresh. My absolute favorite is the maple bacon, I highly recommend it. The s'more one is also delicious - but really you can't go wrong. Eat them right away, while still warm - so good. I also love the reward system on the app and would recommend joining the loyalty program - I've eaten MANY donuts for free because of it, ordering in the app makes things easier. They took forever to finish our order. Actually, they took forever to even start it. They didn't even greet us or take our order. We had to get their attention and then they had to get another worker to do it (there were only 2 people working). The person who seemed in charge was coughing on the batter as she mixed it and she was on the phone almost the entire time (a personal call) not paying attention whatsoever. Also the floor was nasty, it hadn't been cleaned in a while because I kept accidentally stepping in pieces of donuts. Just all around an awful experience. read more

Donuts are really good for a cake donut. I personally prefer yeast donuts. The glaze and toppings are great but I wish it wasn't on a cake donut. I have noticed that the donuts don't agree with my stomach. The 1st time I thought it was a coincidence, but I went back yesterday and now have another stomachache. It probably has to do with the sugar more so than the quality of the ingredients, but I don't think I'll be able to come back. ALSO, per another review that I saw about them being expensive? I had visited the Duck Donuts in Arlington, VA over the summer while traveling for business and loved it, so when I heard one was opening in State College in 2018 I was very pleased. They opened on Friday March 2nd, and I had the pleasure of visiting on Sunday (March 4th) of opening weekend. It was FANTASTIC, as expected. We ordered a dozen donuts, each carefully crafted and made to order. The employees were very caring and friendly, really going out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. A tiny drop of fudge landed on a maple donut, and one of the guys behind the counter pointed it out to us and offered to remake it. Not needed, but it impressed us! I didn't catch his name, but he had a lot of vey awesome tattoos on his arms - so props to him. For it being opening weekend with new employees and a brand new store, it was a really great experience. We Just visited this establishment, for the first time this morning. I'm from out of state, but will be here decently often. The gentleman James who made our donuts, was more then amazing. They were closing soon, and obviously slow to things going on in the world right now. He was so nice, and welcoming. If I owned an establishment he would be the individual I would want all my employees to duplicate. We had the key lime, and Oreo donuts. Wow they were outstanding. Ok I don't understand why is the place so empty the first time I went (maybe it's not prime time?) but their donuts are not only amazing looking but super delicious too.
