I normally try to wait until noon to get my grub on, so I decided to head to the Bagel Boutique, grab a coffee, and see what these bagels were all about. Of course, just like anyone with a brain would do, I did my research first to see if it was a good place. Some PennLive articles popped up with awesome reviews, so I headed out. Being a New Yorker straight out of Manhattan, I have to say: these bagels were poop. They just tasted like the Thomas' bagels you can get from any grocery store. There was nothing special about them besides the creative toppings. I would never go out of my way to get a bagel from this place again. I wish I would've just ordered them on UberEats so I didn't have to waste gas money and time driving all the way from Harrisburg to Mechanicsburg. Wake and Bake actually opened in July of 2025 and is holding its own across the street from the capital. In fact, today is the 3rd in the Burg, which brings foot traffic downtown to explore businesses. Wake & Bake offers a homey feel with its artwork, friendly staff, and the owner's daughter, who joined me at my table while I enjoyed my Vanilla Matcha with oat milk. I heard the Mango Matcha is delicious, so I need to come back to try it.

The seating is mostly table seating (no booths), with a few smaller tables set along a hallway-style walkway that opens up into a larger dining area. The way the space is laid out feels intentional and well designed even though the restaurant was getting a lot of attention while I was there, it never felt crowded or overwhelming. Everything flowed nicely. It's colder right now, so their front deck seating wasn't open, but you can tell that when the weather warms up there's additional seating available outside on the deck, which would be such a nice spot to sit. The bathrooms are conveniently located right up front, which makes them easy to find. Parking is also pretty simple, there's parking available in the back of the building, and if those spots are full you can usually find street parking nearby. Here's what I ordered: Pistachio Rose Affogato * Pistachio Italian espresso * Vanilla ice cream * Crushed pistachio * Edible rose petals * Wafer East Coast Croissant * Cheddar cheese * Bacon * Spinach * Scrambled eggs * House-made garlic aioli * Served with breakfast potatoes My drink didn't just look beautiful , it tasted incredible too. The pistachio espresso paired with the vanilla ice cream was already amazing, but the crushed pistachios and edible rose petals really took it to another level. It was sweet, rich, and full of flavor. The East Coast Croissant surprised me in the best way. I'm usually not a big spinach-on-sandwich person, but I wanted to try it exactly as it's served to get the full experience. I'm glad I did because it completely changed my mind! Everything worked together perfectly, and the garlic aioli added so much flavor. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back. The deli portion will have to wait for another visit. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday evening and found plenty of parking out front since the bakery is located in a strip mall. When we walked inside there was only one other person there, but the display cases were absolutely packed with pastries, cakes, cookies, and other treats. My heart nearly skipped a beat. Bella Sicilia describes itself as a destination for authentic Italian pastries, gelato, and deli favorites in Camp Hill, featuring classic treats made with ingredients from Italy and crafted with care. Their menu includes everything from lobster tails and cannolis to signature cakes and fresh gelato, along with deli sandwiches and savory options. With so many incredible-looking options in the case, my adventure buddy and I decided to strategize. We agreed to pick three items to split so we could try more things during our visit. We also sampled one of their almond cookies from the counter and counted that as a bonus fourth item. That almond cookie was divine. It's honestly more like a tiny cake than a traditional cookie -- incredibly moist, soft, and full of almond flavor in every bite. I'm actually glad we tried it after placing our order because I could have easily walked out with a dozen of those and called it a night. For our three official selections, we chose the Red Velvet Mousse Cake ($7.54), a Large Classic Cannoli ($6.76), and an Arch of Happiness pastry ($7.23), bringing our total to $24.97 including tip. When the woman behind the counter told us it was the last Arch of Happiness for the day, I nearly squealed with excitement. We got the final one! All three desserts were absolutely fantastic. The red velvet mousse cake leaned heavily toward the icing side -- rich, sweet, and decadent -- which is exactly how I like my desserts. The cannoli was filled with the most heavenly chocolate-chip-speckled ricotta filling I've ever had. And the Arch of Happiness was pure strawberry-shortcake-style bliss: light, airy pastry with whipped filling and generous chunks of fresh strawberries. We demolished all three desserts and very nearly licked the plates. Before leaving, we grabbed a few additional treats to take home and share with family. I also picked up one of those almond cookies for the ride home because resisting it simply wasn't an option. I'll absolutely be back to Bella Sicilia. With that many beautiful pastries in the case, one visit barely scratches the surface!
