Pros: -They have a lot of seating options -- indoor, outdoor covered, and full outdoor -Waiting staff is very attentive -Food tastes good -Massive wine list Cons: -We asked for bread and they said "they weren't doing bread....for a $200 dinner, I thought some bread and butter was a given. I was even happy to pay for it, but it was not available -Small portions ...but expected for a French restaurant. But good to keep in mind when ordering -I got the Branzino dish, which was delicious. It came out with no accompaniments. No starch, no vegetable. Just the seafood in a sauce. This was disappointing. -Molten Lava cake was just a cooker chocolate cake. No molten at all...totally over cooked. Overall, I probably won't be back. Nice ambience for a special occasion, but cons outweighed the pros.

Everything I tried was fantastic, from the perfectly prepared chicken kebabs to the cod with farro. The blackberry vodka cocktail was beautiful and delicious, and the saffron steamed milk with ginger for dessert was absolute perfection. The entire concept feels current, welcoming, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. Can't wait to return the next time I'm back in town for meetings!

Although he will lead most times, I pick one place every weekend so we can check it off together. This Friday (5/16) I picked Julii! He's a regular so although super packed they made it work and sat us immediately without a reservation. This place is popular and a reservation is needed. While I thought the menu was limited, it does the job. I wanted Branzino and had that in my mind the whole day but was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu. Welp, y'all know I love a burger. Service was fantastic! Ambiance feels like stepping into a French‑Mediterranean boutique café that someone elevated into a luxury dining room. It's warm, intimate, and softly glamorous without trying too hard. Let's get into it! Chicken Kabob - Seasoned perfectly over rice! Really good! Burger - Added bacon and mushrooms- Absolutely delicious! Drinks were delicious! No apps because I wasn't that hungry! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

You know, every once in a while, a lady has to re-do her makeup. So it is with restaurants and, in…read morethis particular case, Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda MD has put on new makeup. Boy, does she look beautiful now!!! Last time I reviewed this restaurant, I was underwhelmed by the dining room. It was generic, dated and - my main memory - the floor was greasy and slippery. Now, the renovations show a beautiful new restaurant with high end finishes and fancy decor. Whoever redecorated this place did a fabulous job! So, I take back my old review and state very clearly that Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda is stunning, first rate and very high end looking. The food was very good. We started with escargot and mussels. The mussels were a bit bland in my opinion. Yes, there was garlic, yes, there was onion, yes there was wine but the overall flavor was just sort of mediocre. The escargot, on the other hand, were beautifully cooked, prepared and seasoned. The garlic and other seasonings turned what is really just a garden pest into delightful little bite of intense flavor. I loved them! For our main courses, 3 of us got beef. Of course, it was well prepared. The French fries were crisp, hot and lightly salted. I did not want to share them. My zero-proof drink was lovely! I had the grapefruit cooler and it was a perfect balance of tart, sweet and bubbly. This place paid a lot of attention to a non-alcoholic beverage. That says a lot to me!!! The service was not up to the beautiful appearance of the dining room. We had spotty attention and a lack of focus from our waiter. At the end of the evening, they really rushed us out. But, overall, I am impressed with what has happened at Mon Ami Gabi. Will I be back? Oh yes! Do I recommend it? Definitely!

TWO MORE mice pop out of the booths next to where we are sitting...because there is food on the floor. - Several other tables saw the mice...staff tried to sweep them up with a broom. like wtf. - We get some half-baked "well the door is open a lot" Two stars cause they comped our whole meal...but that was our last visit for sure. Never again.

I had wanted to try La Ferme since 2020/2021 when I first learned about it. Of course when my…read morehusband suggested it for a date night tonight (a Friday) I jumped at it. It has to be the most charming restaurant in the DMV. From the outside to the inside with the high ceilings and wooden beams, it oozes charm. It's dated but in the cutest way imaginable. There's love piano, which only added to the charm (have I used that word enough yet?). We were seated as soon as we arrived and were given the massive wine and food menus. They were a bit awkward due to size. I ordered a glass of the German Riesling and asked the server if it's sweet. His response was that it's fruity. Yes, but is it sweet? I was a bit surprised that a server at an upscale restaurant didn't know the difference between sweet vs fruit-forward. I got it and took a chance. Thankfully, it was a dry wine that was fruit forward. I got the scallop & lobster risotto appetizer and the seafood pot pie for my entree. Both were rich, creamy, and full of seafood goodness. I was pleasantly surprised that the pot pie came with string beans on the side, as it wasn't listed on the menu. The only thing I can knock La Ferme for aesthetically is the women's restroom. The floor tiles and walls are beautiful and stick with the French theme. The stalls themselves give off high school gym bathroom vibes. They were metal with chipping paint. I say they knock those suckers down and replace them with some beautifu,l wooden bathroom stall walls and doors. It would make SUCH a difference. The rest of the restaurant transports you to another place, but those stalls bring you right back to a place that no one particularly wants to visit (maybe a road trip rest stop?). Change the bathroom stalls and educate the staff about wine, and you've got a five star restaurant.

Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.
