Hot Mandarinian Chicken
Ana F.

A must visit if in the area! We stopped on our way back to our hotel after visiting mulnomah falls. Looked up their yelp and the pictures they had in the front of the restaurant looked delicious. It did not disappoint, we ordered the tom yum soup, the black oil ramen, and their mandarinian chicken. The tom yum soup was just as lemony, spicy, and salty as you'd like it to be! Very delicious with all toppings. I'm not an egg fan but forgot to remove it. -eggs were not thrown out yet recycled to my bf lol The black oil tonkotsu ramen was sooo tasty, very rich. Again, a must try. The mandarinian chicken was very delicious! It's a chicken katsu style cut. The breading was addicting to eat. I loved its soft and crunchy texture! The raid tea paired delicious with everything The service was friendly. Very cute Asian bistro element. Their ac isn't the best, they have lots of fans. Didn't really bother us though. Ya know! ‍ we will be back!

Pad Thai

I enjoyed their authentic Thai pad Thai. It's unlike pad Thai I tried before at other restaurants and I really appreciate how it tastes very authentic to the original Thai culture's way of doing pad Thai. The service was extremely pleasant and it was the perfect place to go for a leisurely lunch. And plus great prices with tons of add-on options

Black Oil Tonkotsu Ramen

Very nice service, clean, casual restaurant. Black oil ramen $17 - good flavor, lots of toppings Rangoons $8 - average All the furniture is bolted down, so you can't really get comfortable sitting on the stool. The stools also don't have a bar for your feet. I'd order again, to go.

Fire ramen with chicken drumstick

Very casual luncheon establishment. They are a new Asian fusion establishment open directly next to the NE 7th Ave Max stop. Quick walk in straight to the counter to order type establishment. The place is a bit bright with the south facing windows without any shading. Their menu looks to be very vegetarian friendly, vegans beware as some dishes have eggs. I ordered the Fire Ramen w/ fried chicken drumstick. There's plenty of noodles, and the coconut curry broth hit its mark, but I felt it didn't match well with the ramen noodles. I will have to try their other dishes. The tiger eggs was a nice touch, and the drumstick was decent. It's nice to see another Asian establishment opening up in the Lloyd area.

Spicy Basil Fried Rice

The food is very fast and very tasty. Give them a try if you are in the area. The fried basil is what I like here

I ordered the Black Oil Tonkotsu Ramen and it was delicious, recommended by one of them employees and it was awesome! Great flavor and quality. Small, cute but busy space right on off the max line. Clean and very fast. I will for sure go back

Easy ordering system and friendly staff. Restaurant was clean. We got the drunk noodles (substitute glass noodles) and the black oil tonkotsu ramen. Both very delicious. Highly recommend.

5 stars for super friendly customer service. Just popped in for some dumplings, food came out fast and the customer service was very welcoming and kind. Excited to be back for lunch again.

Ordered some Postmates from here and was very satisfied A lot of the menu is Thai but they actually had a great katsu curry, definitely will order again. They also have fun drinks and had a BOGO at the time of ordering. The Thai Tea + Lemonade was very refreshing like a Thai Arnold Palmer. The CCC tofu was also very flavorful, it's all in the sauce. Can never have too much of that sauce.

It was so delicious that I brought my spouse back for dinner when he arrived later in the weekend. When I went the first night I got the shrimp pad Thai and it was the best pad Thai I've had in a long time. So full of flavor and fresh ingredients. I also got the hazy IPA from the local brewery, Backwoods. When we came back later in the weekend, my spouse got the shrimp pad Thai since I sang its praises. I got the million dollar shrimp tom kha ramen and it was DIVINE! I literally cherished every slurp and bite, it was so incredible and flavorful! My spouse got a different local IPA and I got a unique twist on a Negroni. The staff were extremely friendly helpful, ensuring that we had an impeccable experience from start to finish. Prices were also reasonable for the high quality ingredients, quantity, and presentation. The ambiance was wonderful, offering a clean, welcoming, and modern-green chic aesthetic. Not only did we have an amazing dinning experience, but also an amazing service and ambiance experience! If we are ever in town again, Buranko Cafe & Bar will be our top spot to stop!

The inside still looks really cute, but my mom and I didn't get to sit in the woven chairs even though it was pretty empty when we went. I probably should have asked to move tables, but I didn't want to make it a hassle for the staff. We ordered the cheesy crab wontons, shrimp pad thai, and crispy chicken. The crab wontons were really good , crunchy and filling are well seasoned it wasn't just stright up cream cheese, I enjoyed them a lot with the sweet chili sauce. The crispy chicken was also really yummy, can't say the same for the the pad thai tho it was so, so salty. I'll continue to come back in the future!

Birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations... that's what I'd save it for! I probably wouldn't come here for just a casual dinner because it is definitely on the pricey side. The three of us spent well over $500, so plan accordingly. The restaurant itself is stunning. The gorgeous cherry blossom tree in the center creates a beautiful atmosphere and makes for the perfect photo spot. The service is attentive without being overbearing, and I'd definitely recommend making a reservation since it gets busy. The menu has something for everyone, from incredible seafood to premium meats, and everything we tried was delicious. My favorites were the crudo, the fried rice, and the desserts. Do yourself a favor and order both the bingsu Korean shaved ice and the matcha dessert! If you're celebrating something special, Janken is worth the splurge!

The interior is certainly instagram worthy with a beautiful interior cherry tree as the centerpiece of the interior. The star of the show really is the food though, right? My wife tried the caviar as she had never tried this before and it was superb. I had the waygu steak and it was as buttery as it should be and cooked to perfection. We tried several smaller dishes and all were divine. I should mention also, the cocktails are crafted with care and not too boozy. Service was fantastic with a no rush approach and a subtle check in frequently to make sure everything is covered off (drinks, etc.).

I kinda get both sides ya know , sure one person in the group wants a drink w dinner but dude just tough it out and have your dinner. Instead they popped off and all started fussing and being entitled and it was just gross. I was enjoying a fantastic dinner but that table was like trying to take the stage. I think they ended up storming out and one girl like stomped off and said she was keeping her cup !! lol I worked in food a long time ago. While it's great to check off a notable Portland spot, the steep pricing and a major quality control hiccup make it more of a one-time stop for me personally. 14" Famous Tickler (3/5): A standard cold sub loaded with ham, salami, pepperoni, and traditional toppings. The bread didn't appear to be toasted, making it a bit dry and tough to bite through without heavily relying on the complimentary garlic mayo on the side. It's a massive sandwich, but the flavor profile itself is fairly unremarkable. 14" Teriyaki Steak Philly (2/5): A hot sub that unfortunately fell short of the price tag. The sandwich was light on the bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and melted provolone cheese, leaving the sandwich feeling a bit bare. Adding to the disappointment, a piece of what looked like tinsel was found inside my sandwich, which was a major turn-off for quality control. Logistics Tip: Street parking in the area is free and easy to find. The counter service is incredibly friendly, laid-back, and highly efficient, bringing out orders well under their 15 minute estimate while offering great complimentary condiments like garlic mayo. However, outdoor seating is extremely limited and easily packs out, so plan to grab your food to-go. With two large sandwiches totaling $43, it leans on the expensive side for a casual lunch

Brunch in Portland, Oregon…read more.. After I read reviews about Portland's Chinatown, I searched for a dimsum place outside of Chinatown and found Jade Rabbit I liked the name of the place and saw that they had two kinds of rabbit-shaped dimsum! Another cool thing is that their menu is vegan... that means that I don't have to worry about dairy products that give me pain. We found free street parking about a half a block away and waited for Jade Rabbit to open at 11am. We didn't have reservations, but we're seated immediately. The decor was great! I enjoyed looking at all of the Rabbit figurines! The furniture was colorful and the convenient restroom had interesting decorations, too! The service was okay. Some items were not available and our server recited the list that included chow funn. Shucks! She came back later and said that the chow funn was, in fact, available... yay! Our server seemed a bit nervous as her hand shook and placed the special menu upside-down... LOL! We won't bite you! She recommended the Ube Jam drink - it was made with coconut cream... yes! The chow funn was a bit bland. We added some soy sauce. The Puto Pao Bunny Bao had an unusual flavor - maybe the brown sugar can be omitted because the black garlic and vegan pork might be fine without it? The Jade Rabbit Dumplings also could be more savory. Something was off... and the filling was a bit sparse. Anyway, maybe we could have ordered better, but we got what we wanted! Thank you for the cute food! Note: 22 percent is added to the bill - so no need to tip.
