Pretzels and beer fondue

Made reservations for a Saturday night, it wasn't busy at 5 when we got there but quickly got busy. We ordered some drinks, the red sangria was delicious. Appetizers were great- there were so many great options on the menu. Highly recommend the Rangoon. There is a wide variety of options for meals, I loved having all the great options, that itself makes us want to go back to get something new to try! The tuna wasn't really sesame "crusted" and it was super fishy. I've had tuna before and it wasn't that fishy. It wasn't really what I was expecting but if you like that definitely try it the veggies and noodles were great, not super flavorful all in all. The other dishes were delicious. Great portions and great prices. 8 alcoholic drinks between 10-12 dollars, 2 apps, 4 entrees and piece of birthday cake (thanks to the staff for a great performance) the bill came to 245! Without tip! Lyn our waitress was great! We asked her to wait to put our meals in and it came out at a perfect time! We were done with our apps and had time in between to talk and drink! Will definitely be back & bringing friends.

Finallllly tried Bistro 88's. Honestly, this is the closest restaurant to our home and I had never been here and I'm not sure why? My partner was looking forward to trying out 88's after I read the menu and noticed 2 things he's always wanted to try... Beef Wellington (from watching Hell's Kitchen) and Steak Pizzaiolo (from watching Everybody Loves Raymond). We made reservations and brought my elderly mother along. We were very happy with our meals. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. There are still a lot of menu selections we'd love to come back to try. So happy we found an excellent restaurant within a 5 minute drive from our home!

S'mores puff pastry

I reallllly wanted Beef Wellington for my birthday dinner. So we decided to give this place a shot. Well, I didn't get Beef Wellington--I got a filet with a puff pastry on top (see photo). Pretty disappointing. It tasted ok but I was sad to learn that it does usually come wrapped via other photos here as well as the menu description so I'm not sure what happened. I'm not one to send things back and I wasn't sure that I hadn't misread the menu until I left. I'm still giving it 3 stars because everything else was decent. I LOVE that they have a mocktail menu because I don't drink, and the drink was yummy! We started with bacon brussel sprouts. They were good but I wish they had been a little more crispy. The desserts were the absolute best part of the meal. We got the Nutella s'more puff pastry and the apple crisp spring rolls.

This restaurant in Webster Massachusetts is unbelievably amazing it's a hidden gem if you may. They go over the top with fancy meals with a real decent price. The presentation is amazing along with the taste of the food. I highly recommend this place for a date nights or a night out or to bring the family. It is the best restaurant in town in my opinion. I highly recommend this place you must try it out if you haven't before

Fried goat cheese (delivered)

This is a review for COVID DELIVERY. I have to say- this company really stepped up. I had been wanting to eat at this restaurant for a while. But we happened to order because they were one of the few dedicated businesses that decided to offer delivery during the coronavirus lockdown. We ordered the fried goat cheese and buffalo chicken Rangoon for appetizers, the fish and chips and the burnt end Mac and cheese. I honestly couldn't believe how amazing both apps were. The outside of the fried goat cheese was perfectly crisp while the inside was super creamy and flavorful. Reminds me of Bocado but less expensive! The Rangoon... I didn't think I was going to like. But holy cow! So good! Even delivered they were still crispy, moist inside and slightly spicy. The bleu cheese tasted homemade but I don't know if it is. The beer battered fish and chips was TO DIE FOR! If it was this good delivered I can only imagine how it is at the restaurant. Flaky fish inside while the outside was covered in a crusty shell. Yes! So much yes! My fiancé ordered the Mac and cheese. I am not a fan of mac and cheese but this was FANTASTIC! Smoky, creamy and definitely a solid "we must order again"! We cannot wait until this outbreak is done. Once it is- we will be coming in to try everything fresh. I can't believe how amazing everything was delivered. I'll definitely support this business in the future!

We went out back to get water view seats on their back porch since inside was so uninviting. After we sat down, we were engulfed by the stench of pot smoke pot emanating from a customer and her daughter. To be honest, I think it was the mother as she was the one that was loud, embarrassing and laughing like a drunk teenage girl. The menu offered only appetizer types of food, so we opted for nachos because they were "out" of our two other choices. The place looked rundown and dingy both inside and out and seemingly barely making it. Outside had not seen paint in years! I did not dare use the bathroom. Our nachos came out with hardly any cheese and what was there was not melted once you moved a chip. The chili on top of the nachos was just a tomato sauce with some beans in it. The waitress was nice so we just picked at our nachos barely touching them. I usually send gross food back but I just wanted to get away from the stench. This place is truly an embarrassment and needs a severe makover of both the building and the food. What a shame this waterfront property is such a dump with lousy food. I guess if you are only serving beer to bikers and crap food to stoners it found its niche.

On this cool spring visit, we sat inside at a corner table with a nice view of the lake. We ordered: Happy Hour Chicken Tacos ($8) Happy Hour Fish Tacos ($8) Fish & Chips Dinner ($21) Merlot ($9) Cabernet ($11) The tacos are normally $16 for three on the dinner menu, so getting four for that price during Happy Hour is a good deal. Results were mixed. Starting with the positive: the Fish Tacos were excellent. The haddock was perfectly cooked--crispy and flavorful--served in grilled flour tortillas with shredded iceberg lettuce, creamy slaw, pico de gallo, and chipotle lime aioli. Really well done! The Chicken Tacos, on the other hand, were disappointing. The chipotle-braised chicken, along with the toppings, made them feel dense and soggy. Not something I would order again. The Fish & Chips was the biggest letdown. The fried haddock was thin and dry, and the fries were limp and not hot enough. The coleslaw was very good, though. Honestly, if they used the same haddock from the fish tacos here, it would be a big upgrade. Service was good overall, though the dinners took a while to arrive. Bottom line: 3 stars. Still the best restaurant option on the lake, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

We only have so much time in a month for a quick little date night without our little one. It would have been better spent at a bar where they appreciate their patrons and customers aren't rude for the sake of being rude. We are so nice to everyone! Yet- as we were walking out one of the employees yells out "nice seein ya!" In a super sarcastic and snarky tone, reminding us we weren't welcome. And all of these old drunks just laughed right along with him as if they were back in high school. Absolutely awful and felt unwelcome.
