TLDR: This is probably the worst Bartolino's location in St. Louis. Not great nor terrible…read more Bartolino's Twin Oaks was just okay for us. The atmosphere is nice--upscale without feeling overly snobbish or pretentious. We had a great waitress who provided wonderful service, but the tall busboy with the long bangs was a bit overbearing. He constantly hovered around us, including picking up a fork we dropped even after we told him we had it. Additionally, he started boxing up our food without even asking. I'm sure he was only trying to be helpful, but it made the experience feel a little uncomfortable. To start, the bread was delicious. We also ordered an Amaretto Stone Sour, which was just decent. I personally didn't taste much, if any, orange juice in it, which was disappointing. Just straight amaretto. For my entrée, I tried the Tortellini Piselli. It was good, but extremely rich. I could only eat about a quarter of it before I started feeling a little sick from how heavy it was. My mom ordered the Chicken Milanese and enjoyed it overall, although she wished it came with a sauce. She found the chicken to be a bit dry without one. Overall, it wasn't a horrible dinner by any means, but I'm not sure we'd return anytime soon. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was decent, but there wasn't anything that really stood out enough to make us want to come back right away...

Two long term friends and I met for dinner & drinks here. We were dressed casually and I felt we…read morewere fine, but most of the diners seemed dressed for a semi formal date. Not having been here before I had called ahead and asked for a table close to the entry as one of our party has an illness and not as mobile as he'd like. I was pleased with the table that they had reserved for us and the hostess didn't mention why we got that table, imo that was classy as I had hoped they wouldn't bring it up. It just looked like we got lucky and got a table a bit larger than needed and near the front without being obvious. We had drinks brought out and I had the amore spritzer suggested by the server. It was larger than expected and fairly strong, great taste. The other two drinks were just standard gin & tonic and a beer. All three dinners were excellent: my lobster ravioli, calamari, and chicken Romano. The house salads were very good, as was the shared slice of cheesecake that ended our dinner. The food & drinks were excellent, the server was great interacting with us and doing some give and take, and it was not overly expensive. In cost this would be a 3 out of 4 or a 3.5 out of 5 if the top number was higher expense for a restaurant. Without a doubt I would go back on a date if I was looking to impress.

My wife had chicken piccata which she loved and the side of veggies was cooked perfectly. I had my favorite veal marsala. This was the most unique take on this dish in all my years of eating it - peppers, tomatoes and a bit of marinara in the sauce. Very different, very good. The marinara on the side of pasta was amazing. Prices are so reasonable. Definitely a keeper!

Most of the time if you really want it you will get the dish but tell people the price up front. The ambiance here is very nice. Looks very Italian.

Everything on the happy hour menu is still delicious, but I'm disappointed with the new hummus. The old hummus was larger and much smoother with the toppings on top rather than mixed into the hummus. The flavor was also much better. Please return to the old hummus! I order it every time and miss the older version. Thank you! P.S. This place is amazing! Delicious, vibrant, attentive, personable, and sophisticated. Lyndsay and Clover are two of the many outstanding servers who can anticipate your needs before you know. They offer a deal for lunch with an entree, a soup, side or salad and soft drink. This was around $15-17. We each had the same thing, we ordered the salmon. My wife thought the fish was a bit over done, but I thought it was fine. The flavor was ok, but then I really like to be hit with flavor. It was served on top of something and I do not remember what it was exactly, but felt there was little taste in the slightly over cooked red... onions or beets, sorry not sure. We each had a different side, eggplant, hummus and the zucchini. The portions varied. There were 4 long pieces of zucchini with what was supposed to be a garlic sauce. It was 'ok' and almost funny to see only 4 slices of zucchini on the plate. The hummus was the best, largest and tastiest. The eggplant was a little diluted, but I did get the garlic flavor. The service was excellent! Great staff and the food was hot when it came out. It's a good deal at least for lunch. However, if the flavors are what can be expected for dinner, we might not be back. For the general public, the flavors would probably be just fine. We eat out all the time and have expectations that may exceed what most people would like. As the service and surroundings were excellent, and the food was pretty good, I gave them 4 stars, which seems to be in keeping with most others. See what you think!

Much older crowd. We Had dinner with another couple. Wish I took pictures of our food but now I know why haven't returned here in over a decade. I had hummus appetizer. Hummus was small portion and pita bread cut into quarters had some carrots slivers too. Pita was not even warm. I had the Lamb Shank. The meat was tender but sadly covered with a brown pasty flavor less gravy that ruined it and couldnt tell if it was fresh or not. Our waitress heated my dish at table side on a burner but didn't do it very long and temperature of food was luke warm, at best. Had to flag other people down just to get. Ice tea refill. They delayed my wife's dinner. My mixed vegetables were soggy like it sat in water. My wife got a platter:"Hot Platter" 3 shrimp and spanakopita and like spinach cake and flaming cheese. Even after flaming presentation, She told me felt like just pulled out of refrigerator cheese wasn't warm. The flaming cheese while nice presentation was also mediocre at best. She only finished 1/3 of her meal. We are regular diners from fast food (have 2 teenagers) to nice sit down dinners. We both agreed this was inedible meal, poor food rating IMHO. As soon as we left, had to take 2 chewable Tums on way back; food did not sit well with me. I was ill rest of evening and still feel uneasy updating this 6 am Tuesday. Wonder how fresh food served on a Monday was. IMHO, NOT worth $100 or even less if it affected my Stomach. I wouldn't do it again even if free of charge; not willing to gamble. NOT on our return list ! BTW, the service was mediocre. My wife and I mentioned last month we took a cruise RC, what a wonderful top tier quality of food in main dining room and service on a cruise was just as good or better than any 5* Restaurants; puts Spiro to shame once you've had wonderful meals. I miss the "Greek Gourmet" on N. new Ballas. It was real Greek food from the 90s and Cafeteria style. Will not becoming back! Hope I recover soon as literally I was GI ill as soon as we arrived Home last evening.

I love an authentic Route 66 stop, and this is certainly one of those. From the road, it's difficult to tell how big the place actually is. Once inside, it opens up and really shares its character. We went on a Thursday evening, and it was packed, but not uncomfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone. Our server was friendly and efficient, and she seemed genuinely invested in customer experiences. Our food was outstanding, and there was plenty of it! We even had room for dessert: a chocolate chip cookie and ice cream. It was the size of a dinner plate! This was an outstanding indulgence, and I can't wait to have another one, as soon as my glycemic index allows. LOL The restrooms were pretty darn rough. Urine all over the floor, overflowing trash can, filthy toilet, etc., gave the impression that it hadn't been cleaned since the Route 66 days. Here, I am not focusing on that, since it's not what we came here for. Our overall experience was fantastic and memorable. We look forward to returning to this special historic establishment.
