Runny, tasteless grits!
L Anthony F.

Just awful! Ordered pork chop breakfast. I've eaten at location number two on garners ferry and the difference is like night and day. Biscuit was overcooked and look like the oil was old because of the sediment. Ran out of grits. Replaced it with runny grits with no seasoning. A little salt, butter or something might have helped. Cashier was nice enough, but the register had no cash. Had to keep running to the drive-through to make change. Worker seemed annoyed at questions. Could be just really didn't know. To be fair, the location was fairly clean, but in discussion with other customers, they all seem to think it was much faster and polite when it first opened. No worries, won't be back. One dissatisfied customer might not mean much but keep adding them up ! There are plenty restaurants not far in location where you can get good value for a decent price.

Turkey sausage combo meal with country fries.

I finally got to try the famous biscuitville and I was not impressed. I've had better breakfast, let alone better food elsewhere. I ordered the turkey sausage combo; which comes with hashbrowns or country fries (wedges) and a drink for about $8. I wanted to try the biscuits but was given an English muffin instead. The sandwich came with egg and cheese which was not hot. The fries were hot and seasoned good but were nothing special. When I ordered they asked me a name for my order so I thought the food was going to be hot if anything, it wasn't. The staff was nice and pleasant though, The coffee was okay. I honestly don't see myself going back and don't know what the hype is about. I appreciate them having a Turkey sausage option but I can get better else where.

Spicy Chicken Biscuit. I'd pass

I normally don't review fast food, but I'm taking time out of my Sunday to say...skip this place. Bojangles is cheaper and make fresh biscuit. These biscuits were frozen and still not done in the middle. They were surprisingly flat. Also, for the price you're paying the quality isn't there. I got a spicy chicken biscuit and it looked like a frozen Tyson patty. After eating here, I immediately drove across the street to Bojangles because I wanted a real biscuit. The thickness and fullness from the Bojangles biscuit was shocking and two dollars cheaper.

This brings back memories now that Biscuitville is in Cola! It was very busy but it was Saturday morning and everyone probably had the same idea we had. The service was amazing and you almost forget this "fast food" for breakfast. My favorite thing we got today was the loaded country fries. But how is potato wedges topped with Bacon, ranch, cheese and sausage gravy be bad??! Both our biscuits were amazing. But do yourself a favor and get the side of apple butter! Takes breakfast to the next level! Plus with Biscuitville everything is going to be fresh always!

I LOVE biscuits and am very very very particular about my them so I was excited to hear about Biscuitville & had never had them before. I went three days in a row ! The line is always long but the service is very fast. I tried the sausage biscuit, the cheese grits, the sausage gravy (with a butter biscuit) and the iced caramel latte. *Sausage Biscuit: The biscuit was consistently good each time-- light, soft and buttery.. not super thick. This is and will be my go to each time. It was pricier than expected but worth it in my opinion. *The cheese grits: I didn't like the cheese or the grits. I wouldn't get the grits by itself and would not get the cheese on anything else. It's a super super sharp cheddar. *The caramel latte: it was good, nothing extravagant about it. It's creamy and taste more like an iced coffee vs .espresso. *The sausage gravy: VERY GOOD! It was seasoned well and had the right amount of sausage The customer service was great each time. The staff was friendly and seemed coordinated (with traffic lines.) I definitely will be back. (some menu items online are not sold here)

Great food and reasonably priced. Biscuits and hash browns are the best I've ever had. This review is for the one in Irmo.

I thought that the biscuits were dry and nasty. I gave them two tries, and I can't do it anymore.

The food was not good. The pancakes were crumbling as I try to cut a piece. No kind of flavor at all the syrup couldn't even save them.

BBQ Buffet!? Doc's…read moreBBQ is a must stop for anyone that's into BBQ with a big appetite. The setup here is buffet style all you can eat BBQ and side. YES! All you can eat. What an amazing concept. I can say that the food quality is pretty awesome especially considering the buffet style restaurant. I've been twice now and both times the food was awesome and they don't pull back on anything here. The only issue is they do have some weird hours but for what you get and how they do things it's totally worth a trip during lunch. I highly recommend hitting this spot if you're a fan of BBQ and have ever felt like you didn't here get enough of your favorite BBQ dishes.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 6…read moreDecor: 6 Value: 9 Overall: 7 I first came to Doc's back in summer of 2023 because I wanted to pig out on southern comfort food. Well, at $14.50 back then for the buffet, I thought I was in heaven. A huge array of choices that will induce the heart attack I was looking for. Price has obviously gone up a tick, but it's still a great deal imho. Since the restaurant was super busy, everything felt extremely fresh. As for mains, I guess I enjoyed the fried chicken a lot since I keep refilling ny plate with it. I also tried a little bit of everything else, including the bbq pulled pork, fried catfish nuggets, and meatloaf (Tuesday special). They were all good. As for sides, there were plenty to choose from. All the southern staples are here, like mac & cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, potato salad, hush puppies, etc. Don't forget to get some desserts too. I like their peach cobbler. A place like this can only survive in the south. I wish we had something remotely resembling Doc's back in NYC, but it'll never work. I'll just have to visit the south more often for gems like these.

Midwood Smokehouse... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!…read more Imagine me singing like the Campbell's commercial because BABYYYYY! I am absolutely appalled and ashamed that we visited Columbia back in September and somehow missed this goodness! All I wanted was a simple sandwich after leaving Family Day on base... Opened Yelp, and BOOM! Midwood Smokehouse appeared. Six minutes away? Oh, AND it's in a shopping center with Whole Foods? Say less! The original plan was takeout. But here comes my mother-in-love... "Lady T, you want to sit down and have a cocktail?" Well, don't mind if I do! I'm still mentally somewhere along the Mediterranean coast, enjoying my Aperol spritz era, but this time I settled for a gin and tonic... And let me tell you about our bartender! The moment he set that glass down, I could smell the gin! Now, I know how that sounds, but listen... I'm in my white liquor season, and he understood the assignment! Perfectly made! Enough to give me a little buzz before my Whole Foods adventure. Nothing over the top... just enough to remind me that he was NOT playing! But let's talk about the establishment itself. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was evident. The young man at the entrance politely directed us toward the back to place our takeout order. The gentleman who assisted us was equally pleasant, mannerable, and professional... he was also our bartender. During our conversation, he shared that he's a youth pastor, which genuinely warmed our hearts. Many prayers and blessings to him as he continues his pastoral journey. Something else stood out... THE REGULARS! We noticed customers coming in who were clearly familiar faces to the staff... And honestly, we've observed that at several establishments during this Columbia visit. There's something special about a place where the staff knows its customers. That speaks volumes! Now... THE FOOD! Because BABYYYYY! We returned to the hotel with our order, and let me tell you... THE BAKED BEANS!!! Listen, I LOVE a good baked bean, and these right here?! FREAKING PHENOMENAL! Somebody needs to explain why I was sitting in my hotel room contemplating ordering another serving! CLOCK IT! The burnt ends? GOODNESS GRACIOUS! Juicy, tender, beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of crisp! Not burnt to the point where you're tasting charcoal, but that perfectly executed exterior that complements the tenderness inside. Somebody on the grill and/or the kitchen KNOWS what they're doing! The mac and cheese? Okay, now... It was good, but it wasn't taking home the trophy. I'm personally not a fan of shell pasta for mac and cheese, and I would've loved a little more cheese and creaminess to give it that rich finish. It held its own, though! We're giving it an honorable mention. It didn't miss... it just didn't win the award and that's ok... this little league where everyone gets a ... The hush puppies? Delicious! Listen... I probably need to leave bread alone, but clearly that wasn't happening today! Absolutely delicious as well! Overall, Midwood Smokehouse deserves a ROUND OF APPLAUSE! TENS ACROSS THE BOARD for the overall experience! From the hospitality and atmosphere... to the bartender's cocktail craftsmanship and the phenomenal BBQ, this was such an unexpected treat... And the fact that I haven't even told my husband I'm considering another baked bean order... well, that's between me, Yelp, and the Lord!

Competition Quality-meat came easily off the bone but didn't fall off the bone. I had 2 slices of brisket and we shared Hush Puppies and their Mac and Cheese. Driving up you see the smoke from the smoking pit and you know from the smell, you made a good choice. Nothing fancy here- inside eating is very casual. They do a high volume of to go orders. This is a family run business and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They seem very organized and gave a system in place for the pick up business that seemed to work well for them. The owners (I believe husband/wife) both came out and checked on us. We spoke for a little bit with each one. We felt welcomed and appreciated. OMG! I would've loved to share a slice of one of those triple layer cakes. Slices were extra generous but we were already taking home some brisket and Mac &Cheese. We will definitely come here again if we have to return for more tests
