First of all, know that this is a small place so don't bring a group of 20 expecting to dine in (but they cater, so they can accomodate your group that way.) I was served by one of the owners and she could not have been nicer. I came in wanting some kind of sandwich and they have several interesting choices, but I ended up with their Fall Salad, a mix of hearty winter greens accented by slices of apple and persimmon, some bacon and a nice vinaigrette that was just enough. I ordered mine topped with tender and really delicious tri-tip and very happily dug my way down. Now I have to get more of that tri-tip my next time in Napa, unless I am seduced by one of incredible sounding chicken sandwiches. read more

I've noticed this bbq spot every time I've visited Pioneer Taproom. On my last visit, I decided to give them a try and I was not disappointed! We had the tri tip sandwich and the pork belly with arugula salad. The owners were very nice and gave us some background on their business. It's named after their cat, Biscuit! They also adopted a dog and named the Brody Burger after him - I'm definitely going to have to try that next time. Our food was so good and flavorful. We enjoyed a flight of wine from the Suisun Valley Wine Co-op, ordered food from Biscuits BBQ, and they kindly brought the food out to us. Five stars for great BBQ, service, and ambiance. The Porcini Rubbed Tri-tip Sando was very good - tender, flavorful meat in a soft, lightly toasted bun. We loved the potato salad too. I definitely need to try the Smoked Street Dog - that bacon-wrapped dog is what got me. Next time! Overall, it was a great experience. Biscuits BBQ is opened Friday thru Sunday from 2-6PM. From start to finish, everything was handled perfectly -- the setup was smooth, the service was friendly, and most importantly, the food was soooo good. We had tri tip, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, brisket, and pulled pork -- every single thing was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The sides were just as good, especially the mac and cheese and the best macaroni salad ever (according to Aunt Terry, and she knows her mac salad!). Thursday, March 7, I decided to head to, " Pioneer Taproom," to have a beer and decided to try out the, " Biscuits BBG," which is located at the same location as the Taproom. I met Ian, whom only is there on Thursdays, and Nolan, whom is the Chef. I ordered several items 1. Baby Back Ribs - 1/2 Rack 2. Cherrywood Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich 3. Mac N Cheese 4. Banana Pudding Waiting time for all above maybe 15 min, but enjoyed a beer while waiting. The only minor confusion was my order was, " To Go," delivered to me to eat there, but Ian, apologized and packed it up to GO. ALL food really good portions, all was VERY deliciously! Easy parking, super friendly owners, clean space and good portions Found this place through Yelp we were craving BBQ and it delivered! I had the Tri Tip Sando which had lots of perfectly done not dry meat covered with a scrumptious cheese sauce. Finger licking good yum! The pretzel bun was on the thin side which I like and was expertly griddled and sooo good. My son had the 1/2 rack of Baby Back ribs which was very generous and moist and so good. The dry rub was spot on and we tried three sauces which were very creative and different than the usual bbq sauces. All good and pretty spicy! The baked beans and Mac and Cheese were very good- beans on the sweet side but very nice flavor and texture to the beans with bacon in it. The Mac- a different blend of cheeses and a perfect addition to our meal and also a generous portion. My only suggestion would be to add a small side to a sando to make it a complete meal as the separate side portion is $7 and quite large- too much for me for one sitting with a sandwich. A recent jaunt to Napa for lunch with a friend led us to Biscuits & BBQ, a charming hole-in-the-wall on the best block of Pearl Street. We were both in need of comfort food and a hug, and no one does these things better than the proprietess. The intimate space allows one to bask in the superb caretaking of Miss Jessica and Co. and you will not find warmer service, better meat snacks and charming ambiance anywhere in the Napa Valley. My friend had the Alabama White, a delicious Chicken on bun concoction smothered in a creamy bbq sauce, while I went for the top of the menu item, Beef and Cheddar (if you're a KC BBQ aficionado, this is often referred to simply as 'Beef on Bun'). Both were cooked to perfection; the meat was ridiculously succulent, served on the ideal buns, and the sauces were such I seriously considered drinking them straight from their paper cups. To cap the visit I took home a full rack of ribs to my husband, a lifelong professional chef, born and raised in Kansas City MO, the capital of BBQ according to many. He devoured a half rack in one sitting and proclaimed: I don't need to go home ever again - "We've found the Mountaintop". He explained how the ribs were perfectly smoked and how difficult it is to nail the combination of smoke and perfectly cooked meat. I can see we will be fighting over who gets to go and pick up the next rack and a quart of 'That Sauce'. This petite unpretentious space warrants a fancy food star and it will come: This is too good to remain a secret for long. The food is top quality, affordable and the service is unmatched. And I can't tell you how refreshing it is to fill one's belly without emptying one's wallet, what a concept. I reluctantly share this review knowing I will soon be waiting in a line down the block once this place is discovered by more gastronomes - it will be worth it, for this is the price one pays for The Mountaintop. read more

Holy hell, this place is great!!!!! We are locals and every time we walk by, they're closed so we sort of forget about it. Popped in today to get some food to go for lunch and my god, we were blown away. The special gazpacho had beet root (maybe?) which lended to a gorgeous color and taste with pistachios on the top. It was amazing. We split the black garlic pulled pork and it was amazing, and so unique. I'd describe this place as if really good BBQ and California quirky cuisine had a baby. So....great! If I had any complaint, and this is probably pretty true with most places in Napa, is that the prices were pretty high. The sandwich without any sides was about $18. We spent an additional seven dollars and got some coleslaw which was exquisite. Please come and try this place, also the biscuits were phenomenal. I'd also encourage the owners to think about staying open one additional hour till 8 PM. I think that the dinner crowd would increase. read more

I had really high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but was sorely disappointed with their ribs. Their mixed greens and baked potato were really tasty, but their Cubano was mediocre at best. The bottom bun of the Cubano was soggy and sad. I wish I had seen the review posted about the ribs, but I was dazzled by the positive reviews about the sandwiches. My family and I came for BBQ and not sammiches, which is why we ordered the full rack. We wish we hadn't and stuck with the sandwiches instead. The ribs tasted like they were either boiled or kept warm in a sous vide. You can just tell from the appearance that the ribs were going to taste as bad as they looked... and it did. If you're going to try this place, get anything but the ribs. I wish I had tried the Tritip Sando instead, but now I'm going to be left wondering since I have no plans on coming back. The ribs just left a bad taste... a really bad taste... that it would take a lot for me to give them a second chance. On a positive note, the staff was extremely nice and courteous. We arrived in Napa for vacation on a Sunday, when surprisingly, many restaurants were closed. We stumbled upon Bisquits...and boy were we surprised. The food was absolutely delicious! We shared two sandwiches: The Tri-Tip sandwich was great and the Smoked Chicken sandwich was so "out of this world" we can't stop thinking about it.
