We tried their Friday special- Chitti mutyala biryani and it was so flavorful. Would love little bit more chicken in it though.

My wife took the kids out to the movies last night (they went to go see the new movie M3GAN and…read morethey knew better than to ask me if I wanted to go see a movie that looked that silly). As soon as they hit the door to leave, I sat there in front of the TV contemplating watching football or playing some Fortnite(don't judge me, I'm an 80s child that was raised on video games and Fortnite is my favorite). Just as I was thumbing through the TV channels and about to get up to go turn on my Xbox (Fornite usually wins), the cooking channel came up and they were making some Indian dishes. Since Indian food is my 4th favorite ethnic food and I hadn't had it in a while, I only knew one restaurant in the area where I can order it using Doordash....Dakshin. Dakshin is around my old neighborhood and though I know I was ten more miles away since I moved and Doordash would take forever to get to my house, I knew it was worth the wait. I ordered some Chicken 65 as an app, main dishes of Chicken Marsala, Boneless Briyani, and a Curry fish dish for the Mrs. for when she gets back in from the movies. Food finally came via Doordash and a ripped open the bag. I guess I didn't have to rip open the bag, but I was tapping into my inner caveman since I had the house to myself. All I can say when I started eating was DAMN, DAMN, DAMN that food is great!!!! The aroma had me salivating. The taste of the sauces, the tender chicken, the garlic naan....oh my!! Dipping the naan into the marsala sauce was absolute heaven. Portion sizes were really good too. Now my only downfall was that I thought I was going to be a real man this time and order the medium hot spice...wrong move. I started sweating like a sinner in church and my stomach system eventually made me push out a ham sandwich I think I ate back in 1996, BUT, the taste was undeniably good. If you are looking for really really good-tasting Indian food head over to Dakshin. Next time(and there will be one soon) I will waive the white flag and order mild...how real men do it.

Reels showed Full size pooris but brunch had small quarters which were very hard, unedible super salty chole and chicken curry for which we paid extra too.. finally when we were leaving and more crowd was coming in there was full size pooris in the buffet, overall very very disappointed.

Our regular go-to, convenient to Sun City, Indian Land, Indian restaurant is closed. Standing in…read morefront, we realized that we had to find another Indian restaurant. We did, driving to the Arboretum Shopping center on Providence Road: Ruchi. The interior is so clean and open that were surprised that they have been open for nearly a year! Certainly lots of space for parties and large groups. Very nice menu with lots of choices. Siva C. was our server and she answered our questions. Their spicy/heat scale is high of 10. Wife and I very much enjoy Gobi 65, fried cauliflower. Each Indian restaurant has their own take on how it is prepared, mostly either dry or wet, with some sauce on it. Their version at @13.99 was our best yet. The pieces of cauliflower were disappointedly small, but the flavor was wonderful. Apparently they soak the cauliflower in a tasty sauce and then heat it. It was so good that we ordered an additional order to take home. The emphasize Hyderabadi cooking, which is heavy on rice (biryani) dishes and rich brown sauces. Plenty of veggie dishes along with goat, chicken, lamb and shrimp versions. I had the Gongura Shrimp ($17.99) and it was excellent. Six medium sized shrimp were immersed in a delicious, thick brown sauce flavored with sorrel leaves, garlic, ginger and other spices. Outstanding! Because of the small sorrel leaves, the chef has to spice it to #6 to bring out the flavor. I found level 6 easily manageable. That sauce was so good that my wife, that will not touch seafood, did spoon that sauce on to rice and loved it. We also ordered Bullet Naan ($4.99) which is Naan bread sprinkled with green chilies. It was very good and eatable because the coating of chilies was lighter than we have experienced at other restaurants. We drank beer, the only one available that night was Rupee Pale Ale ($7.99) and is was a very mild IPA, so very tasty and drinkable. Excellent with Indian food. I think we have found a winner here to which we will return. Lots more dishes to explore.

Here we are again, for dinner on a Saturday night. Dhanush is our helpful, truly, server who will…read moredeal with the chef on your other-than-super-hot and spicy Indian meal. Your server will save you from dying of burned mouth and tongue. I don't give out many five star reviews, but Aroma earns one for their great menu, excellent dishes and servers that speak English well. And I like eating ethnic when it is TRULY ethnic. A very fine restaurant Aroma is. Remember, Aroma caters to Indian clientele tastes. THAT is their main population that come in to eat and to host parties. They are NOT catering to American tastes. Accept that. If you are not of India race, you are, truly, a guest. But you can, pretty please, ask for a lower heat level than would normally come out of the kitchen. Mango Lassi ($6), plain yogurt and your server are your saviors. Wife had a glass of white wine ($10) and generally hates dairy of any kind. Yougurt does soothe a fiery tongue and she did have a sip or two of Lassi just as first aid. When you see the word, "Bullet", it means, generally, the hottest of the hot. I like bullet naan bread, sprinkled with finely chopped green peppers and eat food with it. OK. I LOVE their Bullet Shrimp ($18 + $2 for shrimp) done mild. It was interesting as people and staff would come by our table mentioning, with amazement, that the Bullet Shrimp was the hottest thing that comes out of the kitchen. I replied that I did ask for a mild version, which put them all on the path of the truth. Even mild, you will need to eat maybe plain naan or some other dish to break up the heat distribution. It is good, though. We had the fried 65 Gobi ($15) which is cauliflower done medium heat. Yummy with mint sauce. It is wife's favorite, and we ate one order with our meal and took a second order home with us. A great appetizer, so try it, as chicken or Gobi (cauliflower). My brother lived in Andra Pradish in Hyderabad, so I ordered a Hyderabadi Masala ($17), with chicken, to try it out. Medium heat, but still spicy, it was OK with rice or naan. Probably will not order it again. Pull up your socks and go there to try it out. Remember to use your server. Start mild spice and work your way up so that you can enjoy Indian dishes as they are normally made, but adjusted to your acceptable level of spice/heat.
