How have I lived in the area for 20 years and never been to Birk's?! I did a quick Yelp search for lobster tail, and I'm so glad it led me here. Birk's has that classic steakhouse feel with white tablecloths, attentive service, and an elegant atmosphere that's refined without feeling stuffy. The lobster tail and filet were absolutely outstanding, perfectly cooked and well worth the visit. We also enjoyed a bread pudding for dessert which was worth it! The service was equally impressive. Our server was experienced, professional, and offered excellent wine recommendations. For the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, I thought the prices were very reasonable. Birks is definitely becoming one of my go-to spots. The food is absolutely amazing every time. The scallop crudo was so fresh and delicious, and the beef carpaccio was another favorite. You also can't go wrong with the calamari--it was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and was SO good with the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. We finished everything off with dessert, which was just as good as the rest of the meal. Great food, great atmosphere, and a place I already want to come back to. Easily a 10/10 for me! read more

Birk's is nestled in a rather unsuspecting office/business complex. Parking is plentiful, and there's not much to look at outside. However, the second you walk in, it's almost like you've transported to a different area! We made a reservation one day prior for a Saturday night and it happened to be my birthday! Once we walked in and gave our name, we were welcomed very warmly and there were smiles all around, from hostess to waiter to server - lots of good energy. The restaurant was abuzz with many large groups celebrating, and the comforting sound of glassware and silverware lended to a nice atmosphere. We were brought to a nice corner table and immediately given water. Our waiter was supremely nice, saying thank you to US when we were constantly thanking HIM for being so attentive. We were told about the specials, and my husband and I also ordered a mocktail and cocktail. Both were excellent. We ordered bread service, the tomahawk, calamari, Brussels, and crab Mac and cheese. In hindsight, we probably didn't need that much food but the menu was too exciting and we LIVE FOR Brussels and Mac. The bread came out and was excellent. I could've just eaten baskets and baskets. There was a warm garlic pretzel, a crusty and fresh French, all paired with incredible house made butter. Yum. The calamari arrived first and the serving was so plentiful. Crispy, meaty, accompanied by delicious marinara sauce and tartar. I loved that it wasn't overly breaded and that the garlic really came through every bite. The tomahawk and sides arrived soon after, and everything somehow managed to look better than the last. It was fresh, hot, all cooked to perfection. The Brussels were bursting with flavor and had the perfect char and crisp, the Mac was indulgent and creamy and the crab was plentiful, and the steak...wow. We both ate a little of each dish and within twenty minutes we were stuffed. To top it off, a sweet treat was given for my birthday and it was a yummmmmmy cheesecake. We ordered the sampler appetizer with steak bites, black truffle fries and calamari. I felt the steak bites got chewy, overcooked. The calamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Birks was pretty packed when we arrived, which was likely because of the concert happening at the stadium just up the street. It was definitely loud and busy, but the staff was able to seat us at the kitchen bar overlooking all the action. It was actually really interesting watching the kitchen staff work together and keep everything moving during such a busy night. We ended up ordering a sampler along with a few drinks, and everything was absolutely delicious. Came here to celebrate birthday with a friend and it was a very pleasant luncheon experience. This is a classy restaurant located in the middle of high tech offices and is perfect for business gatherings. It is pretty good size with three main dining areas. There's also a nice bar. Food has always been good here. This time we shared a Caesar Salad which was very good size for an appetizer salad. I had the Chilean Sea bass while my friend had their signature Pork Chop. Lost count of how many times I come back here for lunch. The food is consistently great, which is why I keep returning. We started with Fried Calamari topped with Parmesan, garlic, and herbs. This is not ordinary fried calamari, the batter and parmesan herb topping really make it stand out. Chilean Sea Bass is always my favorite. The fish was fresh and flaky, came with seasoned rice, spinach, and a delicious yuzu-soy sauce. We also ordered the Pan Seared Scallops, it was beautifully presented with Yukon potatoes, sugar snap peas, cauliflower medley, and watermelon radish. The scallops were large and perfectly seared. Another favorite of mine is the Steak & Lobster. I ordered the filet mignon medium, it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The lobster tail was enjoyable with fresh and spongy lobster meat. For dessert, we shared the Banana Streusel Bread Pudding. It was served warm and paired with vanilla ice cream and caramel dolce sauce. We also had the Molten Chocolate Cake with mint-berry compote. It didn't quite have the expected lava center, but it was still rich, creamy and not too sweet. The Key Lime Pie was the only dessert item that didn't impress me. It was just average. We went to Birk's for dinner on a Thursday around 6 PM and were surprised that the restaurant was already quite busy. There were many business dinners going on, which makes sense since it's located near the Marriott and several tech companies. The three of us were seated by the window, and the service was very welcoming and attentive. We started with the fried calamari with parmesan, garlic, and herbs, it was very flavorful, and the texture was just right. For our main dish, we ordered the CEO 20-oz wood-smoked prime rib with creamed spinach, cooked medium-well, to share. The server kindly offered to split it into two plates, which was very thoughtful. The prime rib was tender and good quality, although I still personally prefer Lawry's The Prime Rib. The Brussels sprouts were also very tasty. We also had the house salad and soup, which were standard but good. Overall, it was a great meal, more than enough food for the three of us. The wet salad was nothing special (but, honestly, what more can you expect from a wet salad?). Overall, the food was okay, but not memorable or worth the high price point--the bill was around $200 for just the two of us with no drinks. Service: A little glitchy. Our server wasn't always clear, and we weren't sure who was taking care of us at times. Water refills were slow, which became frustrating. Overall experience: While the food wasn't standout, the experience felt very occasion-worthy. Came here last Saturday for the first time. Had no idea it was here since it's wedged in between some commercial buildings in Santa Clara. Plenty of parking and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and for awhile we had our own little private area until more people started coming in. Very good service. Our waiter and the timing of the food was perfect. We started with the Hamachi Crudo as our appetizer. Fresh and a good starter. We shared the blackened ribeye which comes with garlic mashed potatoes and bacon infused creamed spinach. I've had better ribeye but it was still good. We also shared a caesar salad. They split the portions up for you so you don't have to divide it up yourselves which was nice. We don't drink but we did get both mocktails they had on the menu which were very good and refreshing. For dessert we had the crème brûlée. It was just the right amount of food. Of our party of 5 we had: two of the Australian Wagyu Skirt Steak dinner plates, one King Salmon dinner plate, one Filet Mignon dinner plate, and one the Chipolte Steak Bits. The beef dishes were all cooked to perfection thus allowing one to be able to chew the meat without any toughness. And the person who chose the Salmon said it was flaky and cooked to perfection. The clam chowders and Caesar salad ordered were excellent tasting as well. And all the desserts (Key Lime Pie, Cheesecakes, and Creme Brulee) were so delicious. And I want to thank the staff for putting a birthday candle on my cheesecake. I came here on a recommendation for a nice steakhouse dinner during a work trip. I sat at the bar and chatted with another solo business traveler while I waited for my meal. I ordered a negroni, and then a glass of crisp white wine for a night cap, both of which were good. My meal was the crab cakes and the executive salad with grilled chicken. The crab cakes had great flavor and were full of crab meat and not filler carbs. The salad had a nice crunch and the chicken was well seasoned and juicy. First time trying this Steakhouse and have to say enjoyed it from the moment walked in until the moment walking out. (Sorry no pictures this time , I was so focused on the excellent food , totally forgot to snap some -next time for sure) From the start , I'm talking making the phone reservation , the staff was excellent , even when calling back to move up the time VERY friendly and gave a positive feel even before going in. They have several sections each a little unique and we were around the service area which was great as we were constantly checked on and made this an exciting evening seeing the kitchen at work. Our group had the prime rib and filet , with myself ordering the peppered filet. Our server this night was excellent and made the evening enjoyable , we always had our drinks full and plates moved when done. No appetizers this time , but the main course came out in excellent time , cooked to perfection and for the sides , the portions were generous. Very well plated and great visual presentation. The wedge and Caesar salads we good , those did not overly impress , but then the steaks. Moist , cooked as ordered , and just darn tasty. For dessert had the crème brûlée , and like the salad good with the addition of the fruit , a little thick in proportion to the thinner outer layer but worth the try , will try another after meal next time but did enjoy it. But the main course for our party was a 5+ hands down. Overall, a perfect experience in a well run and kept establishment with a very friendly and fun staff. The parking is self park and plentiful. My hubby and I had such a wonderful meal at Birk's that we were already talking about our next visit. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like old friends and seated right away at a very comfortable table. Our server Hannah was an absolute gem. She was warm, attentive, and somehow always appeared at the exact moment we needed something. Her team was just as great and present when needed without ever hovering. I ordered the small filet with a lobster tail and it came with perfectly cooked broccolini and dreamy mashed potatoes. Every bite was delicious. My hubby ordered the seafood pasta and this is where the magic happened. There was no cream sauce pasta on the menu, but when he asked, Hannah checked with the chef who happily created one just for him. It was so thoughtful and the dish turned out fabulous. He also loved his IPA and we finished with a little Key lime tart that was spot on. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, the staff surprised us with a slice of cheesecake. We were so full that we brought it home, but the gesture made our day. Everything from the service to the food to the warm atmosphere was wonderful. The filet mignon was the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, proper amount of seasoning, and a filling portion. Food: See below ----------------------- * Bread and butter: This is outstanding just by itself! Yummm! * Appetizer - Chipotle Steak Bits: We got this and from the pic you'll see we all devoured this. I would get this if you are going to share o/w it is quite heavy. * Sides - Truffle Mac and Cheese: This was SO GOOD. I would highly recommend it especially if you have adults who like Mac and Cheese and kids as part of the Company. I would warn you that it is quite heavy. - Mashed potatoes: Good...but nothing special. - Spinach: Good and well sauteed * Mains - My sons each had the Filet Mignon and they both loved it. They got it with mashed potatoes and spinach (see pic) * Special: My wife had the pasta special which was elbow pasta in a creamy sauce with chicken - it was very tasty. * Sea Bass: I had the sea bass (see pic). The crab cakes were served with mango salsa, herb aioli, and arugula salad. The cakes were tasty and filled with shredded crab meat. A solid starter. * Pork Chops -- I ordered the pork chop; well done. The presentation of the pork chops was appetizing. The two chops were the perfect size, seasoned, and cooked well. The chops were accompanied by mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with bacon. * Filet Mignon 8oz -- This entree was served with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with garlic. The filet mignon was seasoned well and cooked correctly to be medium rare. The proteins were executed and well-seasoned. The sides were delicious. All in all, when it comes to steaks/chops and the sides, keep it simple and do it well -- that's what Birk's accomplished. Our drinks were good.
