Quick stop at Bird Bakery, a staple in San Antonio, TX. We purchased banana bread, lemon cake and cafe au lait. We ate out goodies and were off to other San Antonio adventures. The cashier was super fast and personable. We noticed Halloween themed treats and a uniquely prepared cake. There were few customers in the bakery, so a super chill vibe. I addition, we noticed today Bird Bakery is selling baby and children's wear.

This is a cool place in historic Alamo Heights. I have been in here once before and have had a wonderful sandwich with homemade bread that was to die for. So I was actually kind of dreading coming here because I am eating keto right now and not eating bread. I was already getting kind of disappointed about just having to buy a tub of egg salad or chicken salad. And then... "Protein Style"! They serve their sandwiches in a protein style, which is on a bit of greens with a fantastic salad dressing, avocados, and tomato! Wow! My plate was as beautiful as it was deliscous! I will be back!!

How have I not reviewed Bird Bakery yet!?! We attended a wedding in 2016 and the wedding cake was a carrot cake from Bird Bakery. It was the best cake I've ever eaten. Now every time I am in San Antonio I have to stop by to get carrot cake cupcakes and some other treats!

A cute calm shop that delivers superb home sandwiches! Two faves are the chicken salad or grilled cheese with a side of tomato basil

Super cute place! The cupcakes looked amazing, but just a tip: if you come during lunch, it's best to order ahead. I stopped in thinking I could grab a quick soup between appointments, but it took 40 minutes to come out. I usually love that the food is served fresh and hot, but since I was short on time, I had to take it to-go. Sadly, I left hungry with a full cup of soup in my hand instead of in my belly.

Came here around 2 PM thinking I get a chicken salad sandwich as I remember those being very delicious. I decided to try a breakfast sandwich since that was still an option. It had sausage and egg made to order tomato and avocado. It was absolutely delicious. Everything here is really good. I also had a hibiscus with lemonade tea and that was good as well. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable and the food came out promptly. There was plenty of seating so we found a nice spot and are enjoying our meal. They're seating available outdoors as well however being that it's still hot out reach out to stay inside and that was nice.

AMAZING BAKERY. The cupcakes here are phenomenal. They have many fun flavors like Elvis and Chocolate covered strawberry, and the minis are a great way to try more. The breakfast sandwiches are a bit on the smaller side but really good. The coffee was good and free refills on the house. They are so smiley and happy here which can be rare so we really enjoyed our morning here.

Everything on the menu is absolutely delectable! Rich, sweet, savory, light... whatever you want, they have something on the menu! Clean and cute but gets VERY busy! For how busy they are, wait times for food aren't bad!

Bird Bakery is a nice place with a cute vibe, matching the rest of the neiborhood, the coffee is good and the best part was the cupcakes. The service is very kind and fast. Whatever you pick will be a good selection.

I was really excited to try this bakery after hearing such wonderful comments from friends. Perhaps it was just an off day for the team. Although plenty of staff was on hand, they seemed I ordered a vanilla cupcake with pink icing and it was just underwhelming. The texture was over baked, dry. The icing had very little flavor which was a real disappointment. Since I love cupcakes, I'm willing to give them another try one day and update my review.

Lunch today was a tarragon chicken salad sandwich .. savory with a grained mustard, greens, and a tomato. The sandwich was super large, and the flavor was really good. I like the variety of hot teas ... went for the spicey Turkish tea. However, I am still not a fan of the cupcakes ... thick rather than fluffy, tasteless. The service was fast and friendly. The parking is sparse.

Such a cute cafe & bakery!! I went to pick up some sweet treats for a friend and grabbed a coffee. So cutely decorated inside. Huge assortment of treats and have a breakfast and lunch menu as well. Will definitely be returning to try more of their menu! Can't wait!

Mini cupcakes. Dry and smashed.

Overrated. I've ordered cakes that didn't wow us. There are better cakes in town for the price. I love the cute idea of mini cupcakes in an egg carton. But they always end up smashed as you can see and the cake is always dry and dense.

Great selection of pastries. Their individual pecan pie is perfect for sharing or just for yourself to indulge.

I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more!

There were very limited fresh selections available, and many items were still being baked during opening hours. In my opinion, a bakery should open with the shelves fully stocked and ready for customers, especially those of us stopping in early. The prices are reasonable, ranging from about $2.50-$4.00 for both sweet and savory pastries, but price doesn't make up for the lack of availability. I expected to have more options to choose from instead of empty or partially filled displays. For consistency in early morning breakfast items, I could have easily gone to Krispy Kreme, where you know exactly what you're getting when the doors open. That said, 85°C is convenient and their mango smoothies are great. Overall, it's a decent spot, but I wouldn't recommend going first thing in the morning if you're expecting a full pastry selection.
