This is such a cute spot! There is a wide selection of cupcakes, cookies, and cakes to choose from. Everything looked so delicious it was hard to choose what to get. I ended up getting a slice of red velvet cake and a strawberry lemon cupcake, both were so delicious! If summer was a flavor it would be that cupcake! I came here this past weekend and was really looking forward to sweets. The place inside was nice and clean but really meant to just pick the stuff up. Not many seats really but not a big deal. They do have different cupcakes, cakes and cookies you can order over the counter. If you want anything else you would have to order it in advance (they do offer glutten free options as well but same rule applies). The lady we spoke with was very kind and helpful. She gave me a sample of one of the cakes and very patient when we were trying to figure out what we wanted. Liked how she wrapped everything up for us and separated stuff to avoid any confusion. The desserts themselves I would say were more on and off for me. I had ordered a few of the cupcakes. I really liked how they decorated the desserts. They were very pretty and quite generous with the frosting on top. The cakes themselves were alright. They were a bit dense for me but we're still somewhat soft that made them decent to eat. The mint one I wasn't really a fan of. It tasted off to me and had a strange aftertaste to it. The coconut one I did like. It was very sweet and liked the coconut bits on top of it. I did get some plan chocolate and vanilla frosting ones and they were decent as well. I also did like the churro cupcake very good I just wish that the little bits of churro on top were not as hard to chew on but was decent. My husband and I came here to grab some sweets after dinner and he was super excited to see that they had marble cake. He loved it, and is happy that now whenever he's craving it, he knows where to go to get some. I went with the strawberry cupcake, the flavor of the frosting was amazing, but I just wasn't super impressed with the cupcake itself. I was expecting it to be a little bit more moist, I don't know if it was because maybe it had been sitting all day because I did go about 30 minutes before closing, but it was just a bit dry for my liking. It is super cute in there, I love how bright and clean everything is, they have a really cute variety of things that you can buy up by the registers. Even though it was close to closing, they were packed with customers, but still gave great service and we're very friendly. Bright cheerful spot in the quarry market shopping center. The case is packed full of beautiful cakes and cupcakes. We opted for a variety pack of cupcakes. We chose nearly one of each flavor in the case. From vanilla , chocolate , red velvet , pineapple upside down, lemon , peanut butter , strawberry . They came displayed in a box that was separated by wax paper to keep cupcakes from touching . The cupcakes were good some more fresh than others. The churro cupcake was good in the flavor world but the cake was dry and almost stale . The red velvet cupcake was the freshest of the box. All in all they were a hit. The price point is high for what it is. A designer cupcake shop with pretty cakes overall I think you have to know which cupcakes are freshest to insure you're getting the best quality. The ladies who waited on us were jovial , helpful to answer all our questions and made suggestions for add ons and beverages . The total was 64.00 for one box of assorted cupcakes. For everyone with sweet tooth, this is a must visit place! Conveniently located in the shopping area at the Quarry, you can either come for a pick me up while shopping or take away some goodies for home. They are known for the carrot cake and I recommend this is a must. Carrot cake is moist with a rich cream cheese icing that is less sweet than other American bakeries. The poppy seed cupcake and strawberry cupcakes were amazing as well. If you prefer cookies, their sugar cookies were cute and delicious. It's definitely a bit pricey, but worth the dollar. read more

Let's celebrate SusieCakes! Noticed this cute bakery while exiting The Quarry market and decided to stop by at 8:04 on a Thursday. Lights were on but they officially close at 8. Despite the late hour the staff rallied their energy and welcomed us in. They answered our questions and made recommendations. Full size cupcakes were about $5 so we bought two pumpkin spice. They look a lot like Bird Bakery style but seem to have their own unique flavors. They also offered free cookie samples and sell cake by the slice. I Loved the taste and texture. I would buy a whole birthday or special occasion cake from them. They also advised us not to refrigerate which was a nice tip. 10/10 stars for service, flavor and super cute packaging! read more

Tooling around San Antonio, I thought I needed a snack. Did I choose fruit, rice cake or something healthy? Of course not! I workout almost every day of the week. Specifically, I wanted to try the strawberry cupcake, that I debated about and opted out last time. OMG this cupcake was like no other cupcake I've had. First, most cupcake shops put too much icing on top that I usually scrape off. I did the same with this cupcake. The frosting tasted like it was made from fresh strawberries and texture was smooth yet thick with little red sparkles. Now, the cake portion was dense and flavorful but not overly sweet. I found myself putting back some of the icing because it was so good. Cupcake 5/5! There is no seating available at SusieCakes. Grab and go environment..."To go" orders only.... The cashier was a bit curt with me with short one word responses to my questions. There were two other customers in the shop so perhaps she felt pressured. Also, I had to ask for napkins and a fork, which I did not during my first visit. While service was sub-optimal, my cupcake was delicious. read more

It was hard to choose but I heard that their carrot cake sells out fast so I decided to try that and then I grabbed the churro cupcake. I can really see why the carrot cake runs out fast - super moist with the cream cheese not being too sweet and overpowering. There were golden raisins which added to the overall flavor. I was so disappointed with the confetti cake we took to our daughter's birthday celebration. Also embarrassed, because we expected excellence based on the price and reviews and wanted the best for our family. We took care to refrigerate then remove about six hours before serving as directed. The cake was gummy, coarse and a mess of icing goo. Almost inedible. The store has a really bright ambiance and the lady who assisted us was lovely. I have only visited Susie Cakes once to pick up a Too Good To Go bag (TGTG) and was very pleased with the offerings and service. I was going to be in the area, and saw them in the app with an offering around the time I would be there. The bakery was very clean and tidy, and they had the bag ready to go, actually a fair few bags with people coming in to pick them up. After the fact I wished I had taken a minute to look at the other baked goods on offer, but they gave me my bag and I was on my way, the staff were very friendly and had everything ready to go. The TGTG bag cost around $7, and came with a half dozen mini cupcakes 2 each of chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet, as well as 2 very good sized pieces of a seasonal cake, I believe a cranberry and orange spice cake, that was very good as well. At normal price I think each cake slice would have been around $8, and the 6 mini cupcakes around $15, so a good value for the TGTG bag, were I playing full for it, I don't think the mini cupcakes would have been worth $15, don't get me wrong, they were delicious, but over $2 for a bite or so seems steep. The full cost of the cake slices seems fair enough, and everything with the to go bag a good value, and it got me in the door, and to consider another visit when I have a sweet craving, or need something for a special occasion. They also do other desserts, such as holiday pies. I definitely recommend checking them out if you have a sweet craving, or need something special for a party, I will certainly keep them in mind. read more
