Carrot Cake mini & Vanilla mini
    Linh P.

It's set in an upscale shopping center so it was a surprise on a few levels. The interior felt a bit sad and not clean which was a surprise given that the owner was there, very impeccably dressed. The bathrooms were dirty & unkept. The dining areas were not clean, tidy or lovely. It all felt a bit like some TLC was needed. Sadly, the worst part was our cupcakes were dry. We had the vanilla and the carrot cake minis. We were excited to celebrate my birthday with a sweet treat that I usually don't indulge in so it was disappointing.

Received mini cupcakes as a treat from a friend. Adorable packaging! All 6 cupcakes were very tasty! The standout for me was the red velvet and the seasonal chocolate peppermint.

Comforting and cozy! Just what I needed after a day of running errands. Got a cup of tomato basil soup and it was so robust and flavorful! Such a cute space in Highland Park. Sad they didn't have anything treats that were gluten free and vegan but they have lots of plant based latte choices! :)

$15 for false advertising. What a terrible sandwich. Avocado was incredibly brown and there was one slice of turkey.

    Pimento cheese, scone

I was out with my aunt and we were trying this bakery she wanted to, and I had the pimento cheese scone, which I had never heard of before. She got to cupcakes to go because we just had breakfast down the street, we both sit down for a moment so I can eat my scone and have a glass of water and talk. Long story short I made short work of the scone, which was delicious, and she really didn't have anything to take home with her after we were talking. They were very delicious and she scarfed them both down.

This place is the cutest. It is nestled in a ritzy shopping center where there are shops like Valentino, hermes, Louis Vuitton, ect. I honestly expected Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones to be walking around in this shopping center. I'm assuming it was highland park. Anyways this place is adorable and trendy! I got a few mini cupcakes just to try them. I was thinking why i was so crazy to get a mini one since it was so creamy and chocolatey. I should have gotten a regular cupcake! I'm not sure if I'll come back just because it's a bit out of the way from me, but may come back to walk around the shopping center again, this place is amazing!

I didn't think their award winning carrot cake would actually be any good. I was expecting dry or too sweet. It was completely delicious! Moist and perfect amount of sweetness. I'm craving for it now. Must go back.

For the price of the sandwiches, you'd expect a little more umph. The saving grace is their bakery it was divine!

I started with the croque monsieur, and it was exactly what I was craving. The cheese was perfectly melted and bubbly, and that hint of dill on top really pulled it all together. I also grabbed a slice of the lorraine quiche, which was incredibly savory with a crust that was so buttery and flaky it practically melted in my mouth. For dessert, the chocolate kouign-amann was a total standout, super crispy on the outside with those rich, sweet layers inside. I paired it with an iced chai latte, which was perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. They have a small outdoor seating section that is perfect for catching some fresh air while you eat. The whole experience felt so authentic and high-quality. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

The first thing I noticed was how beautiful everything is. The décor is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. And yes...those are real trees. That actually matters to me. I love restaurants with a beautiful aesthetic because it makes the whole experience feel special. Good food is wonderful, but good food in a beautiful space? That's even better. The menu is perfect if you're dining with friends because there are so many things to share. We ordered the traditional sampler, and it was such a fun way to try several Guatemalan dishes. Every plate that came out looked fresh, colorful, and made with care. The cheese pupusa was delicious, and the cotija cheese was the perfect finishing touch. Then there were the plantains. I actually stopped our server to ask, "Do y'all make the plantains from scratch?" They do. And it shows. They were fresh, perfectly cooked, and so good that I kept reaching for another one. Honestly, they may have been my favorite thing on the table. The steak was cooked exactly medium, had a great char, and was full of flavor. Portions were generous across the board, which is always a win because leftovers are basically tomorrow's gift to yourself. The spinach artichoke dip surprised me. If you're someone who genuinely loves spinach, you'll probably be very happy because spinach definitely got top billing in that relationship. It tasted incredibly fresh, and it made me realize I apparently prefer my artichokes to be just a little more competitive. The service was warm and welcoming all evening. I ordered a red sangria that never quite found its way to the table, but honestly, by the end of the meal I was so full that my stomach had already voted "maybe next time." One of my favorite parts of the evening was learning more about San Martín's history. Knowing it began in Guatemala and is especially known for its bakery and breakfast immediately put breakfast on my "I need to come back for this" list. By the end of the meal, we were full, happy, and already talking about what we'd order next time. That's usually the sign of a restaurant I'll happily recommend. Beautiful atmosphere. Fresh food. Generous portions. Outstanding plantains. I'd give San Martín a solid 9 out of 10, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

I was instantly reminded why it is such a Dallas GEM! I did not pop in to eat this time, but to find a nice spot to work with a friend on our laptops and yap over a coffee! And while we weren't planning to do much, the experience was still a 10/10! I ended up ordering a White Chocolate latte and it was AMAZING! You can tell they actually put time and effort into their coffee and lattes! Everything is also brewed fresh! Which I love! My friend ordered a artesian hot chocolate and wow! It was probably some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had! It was def made with real cocoa! We did end up splurging on some pastries, because DUH! It's it so hard to ignore the bakery section when it is so stunning and filled with beautiful baked goods! I got a oreo croissant and tortuga concha! I did not eat them (My bf did) but they looked so great! I did try my friends banana custard filled bread and that was great! I would go back for it! Overall, we ended up sitting inside of their beautiful space for hours, just talking and catching up! It was amazing and comfy! We def want to return for some of their dinner and drink specials too! Highly recommend!
