I can't say enough good things about the team at Mavis Tires in Dover, NJ, especially James and…read moreLenny. I blew a tire on I-80 and had my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder (160k miles) towed to their shop. What started as a flat tire turned into a much bigger issue, but thanks to their honesty and care, it was handled in the best possible way. Once my car was on the lift, Lenny immediately noticed that my rear subframe was completely rusted, posing a serious safety issue. He took the time to walk me through everything he saw, explaining in detail what was affecting my car's performance. He didn't just point out problems--he provided cost-friendly solutions and created a package that addressed my vehicle's most urgent needs without overwhelming me financially. All four tires needed to be replaced, but when the work was complete, the difference was unbelievable. My car now sits higher in the back, drives smooth, and feels practically brand new. Another shop had quoted me $3,500 more than what Lenny and James were able to manage here. Honest, knowledgeable, and customer-focused--this is hands down the place to go. Thank you, James and Lenny, for your outstanding service!

Worst customer service experience ever. I brought my car in at 2pm, Jim, the manager, gave me a…read moreprice for tires that he had in stock and said it would be about 1 1/2 hours. There were no other customers in the shop at that time, as I sat down to wait. During the afternoon several people came in and out for tires and repairs while I continued to wait. By 4:30, there was only myself and one other client, who came in after me also, as several others came and went after I came in. When Jim took that clients car also ahead of me. I asked him if he was putting me last because I'm an older woman who sat quietly. He was so disrespectful, said he told me it would take time, lost his temper and shouted to the tire techs 'put her old tires back on and let her leave' ! I left with my original tires put back on frustrated and furious over his bad tempered treatment. The last client there with me said you should have been treated better. The tire techs and the other manager offered their apologies while Jim just glared at me. I said I'm giving you a bad review. Terrible treatment and experience and I would not recommend this shop.

Got a new set of tires here and they do a good job. I will say that fairly. However, every time I…read morecome here they try to sell something expensive I don't need. I feel like I need to leave this review to warn customers: For example, 1) I took my compact car here for a bent rim, they did great replacing the tire on to my new rim I provided and also sold me two new tires and moved one to the spare. But I had a check engine light and they tried to sell me a fuel injector flush, tune up, and some other stuff. I declined and took to my mechanic and it was a totally different issue. Needed new spark plugs yes, and had carbon build up that had to be cleaned out (Mavis is a tire shop and they wouldn't see that). No need for injector flush. They also tried to sell me new shocks. Selling customers shocks whether or not they need them seems to be a shady policy at Mavis 2) this time on my truck, after they took my tires off, they told me all four shocks and struts need to be replaced at only 75k miles; they wanted to show me but couldn't explain why they were bad. This is garbage. They definitely do not need to be replaced. I said no. I would definitely take it to the dealer to private mechanic to verify these claims, which seem false The fact that Mavis is trying to upsell me on unneeded repairs more than once makes me have a hard time trusting them. If you go here just stick to tires and alignment. Don't believe their other recommendations -- go to your own trusted mechanic! Don't fall for the shocks and struts scam.
