Joe Guarino Auto Repair comes highly recommended for all your automobile mechanical needs from the…read morelittle maintenance things such as oil changes to the big jobs! I have been on the market for a new mechanic for a long time. My car broke down and was towed by AAA. I found Joe Guarino's as an approved shop on the AAA site. Their reviews were absolutely impeccable and there were so many people that took the time to review them! None of the other shops had many reviews and if they did have a few reviews, they weren't that great. Joe's shop really stood out! It was nice that I was able to schedule an appointment online over the weekend in the late evening and I promptly received a call back from Rich in the office, who is just wonderful! They are very honest and fair. They could have taken advantage of the situation being my car had to be towed there. We suspected the problem was much bigger than it was and they assured me that it was something minor and I didn't even have to pay a ton of money. It was very affordable. They are "woman" friendly and still take the time to explain everything to you in lay-person's terms to where you can understand. They do not dismiss you or talk to you like you're "just a woman"! They look over everything and assess your vehicle for any and all issues and breakdown what is priority as well as what is not priority to fix. They even take the time to explain proper maintenance items and at what intervals they are suggested to be performed. They take the time to ask you questions about all repairs you have had done so they can put it into their system and get to know your car's history. This helps to asses things as they come up and gives them a holistic full picture which helps for future accuracy in diagnostics. I have never seen (in my 52 years) any mechanic take the time to do this. It's exceptional! That also take time to break down the bill and itemization for you so that you know what you are paying for. The gentlemen (owner and office manager) there are so very pleasant (Joe and Rich) and just so personable. You will never find another mechanic shop quite like this one! I promise!

This place was an absolute nightmare I went there for a tune up and for my rear brakes to get fixed…read morebecause of the horrible noise they were making when backing up due to my rear brakes hitting the rotor's. When I brought my vehicle in on Thursday I was told it would not be ready until Monday the next day I received a phone call from Javier stating it will be ready the following day and I found this sketchy so I went on to pick up my vehicle and paid for their services thinking everything was fine only to find out that my vehicle later on that night continued to make the same noise that I brought it in for so I waited to see if it would stop and it did not then as night fell I went to turn on my lights and they did not work after I just installed new bulbs a week prior to bringing my vehicle to this nightmare of a place and when my father went to check the lights only to find out my bulbs were taken and replaced with non functional ones without my authority and I still had the package box of the ones my father had installed to prove this and when I called to question Javier he was very rude and hung up the phone on me . I am writing this to warn people to stay away from this place .... horrible experience

Pretty decent experience here--had an issue with my car stalling, and they took a look at and…read morereplaced my battery, which I expected and was at what I'd consider a standard or reasonable price --not an amazing deal, but not a ripoff--fair price for work done. They did further recommend that I replace my tires--I can't tell if that was upselling or legit--I had a recall and asked the dealer to take a look; they said I should replace them relatively soon but that also it could wait a bit. The other thing I found irksome was that I got a parking ticket notice in the mail a few weeks after the battery replacement that was clearly received while the car was here and parked on their block. I will say to their credit that they acknowledged it right away and paid it without fuss (or to be specific, reimbursed me, as by the time I received the notice the ticket was close to overdue, forcing me to pay it immediately online), but I still found it to be a nuisance. Whether the ticket was a rare occurrence for them or just a built-in expected cost for parking on city streets, I feel like they should have been aware and paid the ticket without my having to get the notice and call them to deal with it, wait to be reimbursed, etc. They did follow up a couple of times to ask if repairs were acceptable and car was running well. So I'm legitimately torn. Many positives here--it feels hard to find an honest and efficient mechanic--I will probably return the next time I have an issue, but I wouldn't say I'm fully devoted yet, as one would like to be for their car repair, and would pause and consider another option if I can find a better local rec.
