He would try and clean the ear piece first and if that didn't work, it would be replaced. I returned 1 1/2 hours later and I was charged for the cleaning only. No replacement was needed. They let us know the repair would take about an hour. It ended up taking a little longer--about two hours--but considering it was a Saturday at a very busy mall, we completely understood.
