    No bruising. Clean and painless.

This was my first time giving plasma ever and I have zero complaints. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I had a great tech that was very gentle and explained everything. It's a busy location so everyone is trying to get you in and out asap so if you're looking for the techs to chat you up and entertain you this ain't it. They are all trying to do the best and move the line. Be respectful, follow the directions and you'll have a good experience. Bring a blanket and something to squeeze during the process it does get chilly.

    Ouch you guys. Ouch. Why?

Writing review on behalf of my friend who does not have a Yelp. Venipuncture was painful and left an unflattering mark. Chairs were mid. Very disappointed.

AVOID... So many other donation centers and this one is one to avoid.. Management, as well as Corporate are unfeeling and uncaring.. Received this from BioLife Corp. when I sent feedback about no one refilling the hand sanitizer dispenser "Yes I agree with you that the need for precautions regarding the Covid infection is absolutely necessary and although not a requirement" NOT A REQUIREMENT ?? This is a medical facility isn't it??? Ridiculous Staff does not provide ANY direction at the machine on when to pump your hand and when not to, donating / returning... NONE This center treats you like "Lab Rats" there are other Plasma donation centers out there and again this one is to avoid. Picture : The day after... Once you get past the pin prick and the needle-sticking, you get to sit on nice, comfy chairs with your feet up, watching a flat-screen TV, all while saving a few people's lives. The needle-pokers have always been very nice and sweet and even though my veins seemed to disappear last time, they made sure I was doing alright. He told funny jokes, kept my mind busy, didn't stab me too much and made the process as (almost) painless as it could be. The bad: My friend arrived to donate as well, and they denied him because of an out of state tattoo. I get the reasoning behind the madness, but they missed out on some seriously good blood. The ugly: Not too much ugly here. They don't care what you look like, as long as you have healthy blood. Be prepared for an archaic computer interview and bring your state issued photo ID. They aren't going to take your school ID. If you have an ugly license photo, you are good to go. Super easy to do and I'll be back in June, got my sticker on my calendar already!

Looks like I'm the first to review! I signed up with Beacon Biologics for white blood cell…read moredonation, to help with cancer research. When I got there, I was taken back immediately. Me, the woman in charge, & her coworker were the only ones in the building. Verrrry quiet & all attention was directed to me. Paperwork took most of the time and it was explained very thoroughly before signing. Seeing as this was just my initial appointment, they only did a blood collection of 6-7 vials to test for diseases before I am permitted to donate white blood cells once cleared. The blood collection was taken in a very cushy chair where you're almost laying down. Afterwards, they gave me water and a snack and made sure I was ok. In the end, I was given $25 for the initial appointment. When you do an actual white blood cell donation (which I was told can take up to 3-4 hours!) the payout is a lot more. They also told me they have things like iPads with Netflix, magazines, etc to help keep you occupied during that time. They also gave me a free shirt! They told me that they had been up and running for 2 years but just started accepting clients within the last year. Anywho, the employee whom worked with me was super down to earth and great to talk to & answered all my questions. I'm currently waiting to hear back regarding white blood cell studies now so that I can start donating :) seems like a wonderful facility doing great work!

I had surpassed 4 gallons of blood, platelets, white cell and plasma donated before the FDA arbitrarily banned me from donations for life in 1985 because of my sexual orientation. For 38 years donor deferral was based on arbitrary science-denying gender and orientation-based risk assumptions. Very pleased to say We Are Blood operates under new FDA guidance that has been in place since 2023 and relies on assessing individual risk factors rather than making any assumptions about gender orientation or sexual partners. - All potential donors see non-gendered risk assessment/deferral questions when they come to donate. - All potential donors, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, will be asked the same questions and be assessed for blood donation eligibility based on individual risk factors. - The FDA's previous blood donation eligibility criteria based on sexual orientation, which restricted sexually active gay and bisexual men from giving blood, has been eliminated. Initial screening and qualification questionnaire completed, the intake process was quick, careful, caring, and friendly. The donation lounge itself is brightly decorated and open with comfortable chairs and friendly staff. Throughout, great care was taken to verify donor identity and to match to coded donated unit tracking. The whole process took about 40 minutes, including about 20 minutes for the actual donation. I enjoyed some orange juice and a snack afterward and a chat with some volunteers before heading out on my day . Plenty of adjacent free and ADA accessible parking right at the front door. Highly recommended and if you haven't donated in a while because of what were arbitrary restrictions, check back! Things have changed and blood donations are always needed particularly in the summer months.

We showed up on time and checked in at the front desk where they had us complete a thorough health screening. They gave us a free Amy's ice cream voucher and a Halloween themed T-shirt for donating that day. The center is clean, and I was comfortable in my seat. The phlebotomists are friendly and professional. Mine did a great job prepping me and finding my vein; I did not end up with a big bruise or any discomfort afterwards. It only took around 8-10 minutes to complete the process of blood collection. After we finished our donation, they provided us with plenty of snacks and made sure to go over after care instructions. I highly encourage you to donate if you are eligible! One unit of blood can save up to three lives.

The employees were like zombies and the person who did my intake was beyond rude. At one point she asked me if something was wrong and I said "I'd ask you the same question." She said "Im just being stern with you." I was chuckling over the whole experience and said "I've been donating for decades and never has anyone been stern with me. They're usually happy you're here donating." Then in the end, they took whole blood when they were supposed to be doing a double red donation on me. I'm O neg and have been giving blood for decades but have never experienced anything quite like that. I feel bad for the employees, as they all likely have mold poisoning and it's effecting their mood and cognitive abilities.
