UPDATE: WED 5/14/25 - TWO DAYS AFTER THE HORRIFIC TRIPLE JAB / see photo of extreme bruising and knots! This just happened to me. Been going for over 6 mos. I had 2 bad experiences that I now ask for a red stick or my fav 3 people who were not there today. So I asked for supervisor. I got poked 3x. Both arms. And they wanted to do a 4th adjustment! I said NO! My left arm was throbbing and my right arm had just been poked and they wanted to poke again! By Ashley! Blood on the floor around me, and they even stepped in it, when they were trying to remove everything off of me. They would not pay me full price of my donation - because I refused the 4th poke ! After my left arm was hurting from 2 jabs, and now I was in complete anxiety distress ! Look at the size of the hole in my arm ? It kept bleeding on way home. No ice pack no nothing from them. Would you get poked a 4th time ?! I will NEVER COME BACK. THEY LOST A DONOR today. It happened to my husband too few months back and they paid him the full donation. So their rules are not even consistent with each donor, or professional or at least do THE RIGHT THING TO DO! They reimburse full donation to one person, but not the other ?! Screw this place. And it was with the two head supervisors ! How many times do they have to poke you for it not being a refusal? They're fault for poking the wrong vein, I was told that when the 2nd poke happened, then another poke in my right arm, and I told them that this happened to me with my right arm not being as great as my left, they still chose to poke me - when they knew my history ! Makayla had been my go too, until this. Now ASHLEY / who took over on right arm, made it worse and would not pay me because I refused a 4th jab !!' I wish I could give this place 0 stars. 1) the staff is very rude and sensitive. I was told by a worker that no one likes me because I'm too serious. I asked her have I ever said anything to anyone that was rude or out of the way. She admitted no. And mind you I had to have a "counseling" due to this and I have said nothing to anyone. 2) They have no idea how the pay system works. You donate one week to the next week and there is no matrix for how you are paid. I am giving up my bodily fluids to a company that makes millions off of our donations. They need to be able to articulate how you are paid. If my pay goes down, so should my donation amount. 3) This has to be the slowest donation process I have ever seen. Sometimes waiting an hour to get to the floor. Then have to wait another 30 to 45 mins waiting to be hooked up read more

After traveling to the new Georgetown location, I spent two hours waiting, going through verbal questions, taking a blood sample, computer work, then a discussion about medications and finding I had Parkinson's, I was told I did not qualify to donate plasma which I understood. On asking if there was compensation, I was told there was none if you didn't qualify. Not even a complimentary thank you gift card. Pretty lousy after mileage to and from there and two hours of waisted time. I was eager to donate plasma but they should be up front that you get NOTHING if you go through the testing and the "physical" and are not eligible. Pretty rotten way to do business!!! read more

The employees are very rude. My husband drove 40 minutes to get to his appointment and he was turned away because it was 2 minutes after his appointment time. But they don't care that you will wait an extremely long time to donate. He has been a donor few several months and this is the one time due to traffic that he was literally 2 minutes late walking in the door. Not worth it. Had a first-time appointment, but sadly with a family emergency mixed with really bad traffic - was increasingly late and ultimately wasn't able to make it. Tried calling them EIGHT TIMES to see about rescheduling or any penalization bc couldn't make it. Eight. Times. No one EVER answered. Left two voicemails. No one ever returned the calls. So yeah. I just got stuck twice for a protein test, which being stuck twice with the needle is invasive and they still couldn't get any blood from my arms even though I drink plenty of water on top of that they're currently under remodeling so the facility itself is a hot mess, the staff are and it's impossible to get somebody on the phone. I was in town seeing a buddy and decided to stick with my Tuesday donations even though it wasn't my home location. The lady who took my vitals was quite rude on 05/07 around 5:30pm. She first wouldn't show me my vitals numbers which at every other BioLife location I have been shown. Then she proceeds to argue with me about what location I most frequent in Houston. Very unprofessional and uninformed behavior. Do not donate here. Because of their scheduling conflicts and appointment scheduling they ruled me out of my new donor bonus. I was supposed to receive the new donor bonus for eight donations made it to the six donation and they automatically sent me to the normal donation amount of $40 and gave the excuse because I wasn't able to donate last month and it happened to do with all of their appointment scheduling. They wipe off the counter but not the cuffs, not the thermometer and not the fingerprint scanner which makes no sense. I also am disgruntled that they don't change the gloves in between patients. Let me tell you something, EVERY SINGLE PERSON that works here is amazing! They are so caring and friendly, I have never once had a bad experience here, and I even blew a vein once! Everyone was so concerned how I was doing and apologetic, I kept telling them it's okay! I know it happens! The people that stick you are incredible at their job. They place the needle so quick you don't even feel anything. They're always smiling and happy to make small talk if you're nervous. I actually look forward to going and seeing them! I have been trying to get assistance with a complaint I have been trying to file against the center's assistant manager Marbeya or "Beya" on 08/25/2024 in the harker heights location but this is the only place that comes up on yelp. My donation was at 12:50 and delt with the said assistant manager. She was assigned to the bay I was in. It took 20 minutes for her to stick me after being seated after waiting 2 hours from when I got to BioLife, because she was taking her sweet time talking to different people. Even stuck another doner that got seated after me and by the time she stuck me, it felt rushed. She stuck two other people and left the area. I was starting to feel an immense amount of pain but I couldn't get a hold of her coz she was preoccupied elsewhere. By the time she got to my area again, I had already caught another personnel's attention. Told the other associate that I was in pain. That the needle was jamming in and out of my arm every time I would pump, I had already reached 70% and Beya kept insisting that I would only get base pay because "I didn't try" to catch her attention and that "I didn't let her" try to fix the situation. I kept telling her I couldn't because she was preoccupied. Instead of addressing my concern, she just kept blaming me and evading the fact that she was not available. If I was able to catch the attention of another personnel and not her then obviously there was a problem that she didn't see. The doner next to me even noticed the way she kept putting the blame on me and told me to tell the nurse or someone higher up. Beya told me I could file a complaint online and if I talked to a nurse about my situation, the complaint would just go back to her to address. There was no care at all. I was sweating profusely, my hands dripping of sweat coz I was in so much pain. After my final return was done, I had my husband try to call her again to remove the line since it was still hurting me, when I looked at her response, with an attitude on her facial expression she just signed to my husband to give her a minute. I need to have someone do something about what happened and address the unprofessionalism that was shown by "Beya" to a doner who was clearly in pain because of her. She shouldn't be in health care. I donated March 9th I told them my vein tends to roll a lot and they said okay thanks for telling me and she misses it. She tries 3 more times and there's blood dripping down my arm. That's not normal. She called someone over they got my vein and the entire time while I was pumping it kept saying no flow workers kept coming g near me but not doing anything to fix the problem. I was there for an hour and a half. It usually takes me 30mins or less. The Kyle location is better they care about how the person feels they don't rush anything and leave them alone after they stick them. When I was done they pulled the needle out hard and fast like who does that? I get y'all are busy but y'all still need to be professionals and do the job right not being all careless. Recently gave them a 1 star after reading a bunch of other reviews and having perhaps a less than enthusiastic tech one of the times i donated. I regret giving you guys a 1 star. Because i have donated multiple times and not one issue at all. I said they were undereducated but just off my 1 visit. Once again, can't effectively review a company from a one off visit. After multiple visits had many super nice confident techs poke me with the needle no issue, i'm in and out within 30 min. Further more today they saved my butt and i'm super grateful. I lost my wallet while moving and i had $340 on my pay card from them. I was stressing hard but come to find out they replace it for you with no issue! I wish i had gotten their names for a shoutout but a very nice lady at the front helped me, reassured no problem we can get you a new card, had to get the manager. The manager helped another individual before me so fast, almost no wait and came right out and asked somebody need a replacement card. Explained to her my situation and we exchanged some smiles and laughs for 30 seconds, which is all it took to get me these funds back, which is all i have after losing my wallet. They should know who they are once they read this. Thank you so much i'm super grateful!! I'll be coming back to donate! By donating you're saving someone's life..could be a relative, a newborn, a new diagnosis for your significant other..i guess a few don't read the fine print about the company's rules but can complain on here..I've been coming now over a year. I expect to wait. I hydrate to plump the veins..BTW you'll need 2 good veins in case you bend your arm accidently and infiltrate ( blow out the vein and fluid escapes under your skin) ..then next time have a bruised arm that will need nurse approval after you've already waited 30mins in line only to be turned away depending on color and size..so maybe give it 2weeks to return.. The folks that work there are doing the best they can..it's not like a cafeteria line that you keep moving on..you might drop your tray then the line gets backed up..folks should go in with no expectations since each patient has questions and the line just gets longer.. I would suggest having a schedule with 10min appointment slots instead of the 5 since one person comes in early, one late, one on the exact time so right there is 3 folks for (almost) the same appt.. The place is clean and ( who hasn't been in a restaurant ) with only one working toilet ..the folks working know their job and are serious about the rules that are required by the mother ship..the money is good but it's not my primary income like some folks that depend on it and maybe turned away due to computer malfunctions..it's not always the glass half full or empty kind of day but it happens. Overall it's a donation place with rules and a big giving community that comes to save a life. I've met a lot of nice people working there..I would give the more stars if there were more chairs. read more

My first donation anniversary is approaching; it is disheartening that I am writing this review. As until recently, I have been assisted twice by one of the 'most non-welcoming and non-caring medical professional' technicians, Lindsey. My first encounter, I mentioned my arm was in an uncomfortable position. She ignored me. When I moved it, her disposition changed and she barked "Now, I have to remark on your vein". I'm thinking if you had been more attentive and listening, you could have repositioned my arm before marking. Today, I had another uncomfortable encounter during takeoff with Lindsey. I wasn't expecting much however I was expecting her to ask how I was feeling. Nothing. She did not open her mouth. However, she aggressively moved my arm to remove the needle and she bandaged my arm so taut I could not bend my elbow. I asked if she could rewrap it. She did. However, her face and disposition spoke with volume. After I thanked her she turned around and proceeded. Working in the community, especially medical, is an art. It takes special people to be able to shift without allowing egos and personalities to take precedence. Communication is key to success. If you're not willing to communicate effectively (with your mouth, ears, eyes, and intuitively) health services may not be within your scope of practice. read more
