I've been coming to this CPL for a few months now and it's generally a good experience. Targeting late morning between the morning and lunch rushes means there isn't much in the way of a wait -- I'm typically in and out of the lab in 15 minutes. Phlebotomists are great: I've had Jennifer and Dawn, and both were friendly, professional, and got 3+ vials without pain. Front desk staff are hit or miss -- I've gotten some curt responses, especially over the phone, but mostly friendly ones. It's not a huge deal, but I have a similar job and have always made an effort to be pleasant even when I'm losing my mind under stress. The clinic itself is clean, comfortable, and I'm glad to see they are following social distancing techniques for the waiting room (blocking off chairs, no more checking in via communal touchscreen). I was surprised they didn't separate out used pens but otherwise I didn't feel like my safety was endangered by my visit. One note about this clinic: when my labs are faxed in physically, they don't ever seem to get to the clinic. I don't know if this is an incoming or outgoing fax issue, but my recommendation is to always call ahead and double-check to see if your labs are there before you leave the house. read more

Ridiculously slow! It'a busy and they usually have one person drawing blood. I could've gone to CPL on Renfert Way and been back by now! I've never been to a slower lab. I also asked for a cup for the water machine they have in the lobby and never got one. And nobody smiles! read more

It's kind of shocking how long it takes to get a blood draw here. Early morning appointments are never available, so even with arriving early and having few people in the waiting room, hardly anyone is called back in a timely fashion. Within a 30 minute period, only 3 people were called back for a blood draw. I'm not sure what the multiple employees are doing if not drawing people's blood. read more

I decided on this location because of it's ease of parking and closeness to my house. I made the mistake of going to the Saint Davids location a couple miles from here and driving endlessly in circles looking for a parking spot till I couldn't take it anymore. I showed up here without an appointment and I was in and out of here in less than eight minutes. This is my go to testing spot from now on. read more

Arrived at 7:40 for lab work. Front desk personnel was uplifting and patient with every patient. It wasn't overcrowded. I didn't feel the needle prick go in my arm. Great experience. Would recommend this hidden location. read more

KAYLA IS AMAZING!!! I've had to get my blood drawn quite a bit lately and this is the first blood draw where I couldn't feel it. If Kayla leaves this location, I'm leaving CPL and finding another lab cause I almost had it with CPL. I requested a butterfly needle and I swear the other locations and this location did NOT use a butterfly needle after I asked PREVIOUSLY. The blood draw hurt and I almost passed out. WTF. I was ready to give my business elsewhere but decided to give it one more shot. I will be a customer only if they will actually use a freaking butterfly needle on me instead of LYING. Technique probably matters too but Kayla is the best!!!!!! I know she used a butterfly needle and she knows what she's doing. I'll be tracking her down for all my blood draws in the future. read more

I read the reviews about the long wait time for the other locations so I prepared and left early. I got there at 10a on Friday and I was the only one there. I was in and out in 15 mins. However, I took of one start Bc the lady drawing my blood had a hard time finding my vein. I get weekly infusions and have never had someone have a hard time finding my vein. They have one time to stick me, luckily after a few minutes of wiggling the needle around and pulling it out blood finally came. read more

My veins are naturally hidden so I know to expect to be poked more than once when I go in for blood work. I recently went to a different location and was extremely disappointed. After waiting for more than an hour and a half, I had 3 different people try SIX different times to draw blood with no luck ( the very last attempt they knicked the vein and I had a bruise for a week). I decided to give this location a try and was so pleased that I only waited 20 minutes tops AND Kayla was able to get my vein on her very first try! I will definitely be coming back and recommend this location to anyone else out there :) read more

Came here to drop off a specimen only. I was seen at the CPL Bailey Square location last week which has great staff but this location was closer to drop off my specimen. I came in the early afternoon, there was no one else in the waiting room. I walked to the counter where two employees behind the glass continued for over 2 minutes to have a conversation, making eye contact with me MULTIPLE times before ending their conversation to tell me to sign in on the tablet. I work in the medical field and I don't care where you work or what you are talking about with a coworker, you NEVER continue your conversation while a customer is standing at your counter needing your assistance. I could have been told immediately to sign in, I would have had a seat to wait for my turn, and then they could continue their conversation. The gentleman who then told me to sign in on the tablet and helped me drop off my specimen was rude and short with me. When I left I said "thank you sir!" And had gotten no response. If I knew this would have been my experience at this location, I would have saved the annoyance and drove the extra distance back to Bailey Square. read more

A "nurse" here jacked my arm up. I give blood every 4-5 months and have never bruised. She managed to bang me up good. Still experiencing soreness and heavy bruising a week later. She lost the needle once out of my arm, and even I saw it coming. Blood spilled on the chair and she just wiped it up with gauze. Not sure that's up to code. Next insertion she stabbed and stabbed and eventually found the vein once inside my arm. It did not feel good. Again, I've donated blood more than 30 times and have never bruised. She was trying to say I had small, rolling, hidden veins, "hard to find", but no other time has anyone said that. I've never seen my own blood get past the needle. It can't be that different of a process, right? Also office could use a remodel. Looks like 1987 in here. Not a confidence booster if you're already anxious. read more

So this is facility is new and opened September of last year. Not a lot of people know about it so the wait times are pretty short - kept under 15 minutes, but usually it's less. The phlebotomist on staff, Terrica, is really good at finding veins and minimizing the anxiety of the situation. Something to expect is that you may walk in with no one to greet you because the phlebotomist is the only staff present with the occasional phlebotomy student. The location is kind of hard to find. It's in a stripmall area at the intersection of surrender and Wells Branch Parkway. When you turn into the area, you take a left away from the Citgo and an immediate right down the side of the mall (along the bushes) and it's right next to the Wells Branch Medical Center. There honestly should be a stop sign somewhere there because between cars entering and exiting...it seems like there's a low speed accident waiting to happen. Anyway, service is walk in, but don't think you can just come here during your lunch break, it's closed for lunch (12pm-1pm). Other than that, 5 minutes from my house, fast service, and not having to drive farther- That's good in my book. read more

Kayla is the best! I am use to having people try several times to draw my blood but she always gets me in one try. Plus they are always very quick and I do not have to wait as long as other CPL locations. It is also very close to where I live too so that is a bonus. My daughter and I brought my 4-year old grandson to have a blood test. Even though we tried to gently prepare him, he was petrified. However, the ladies who work here were so understanding and good at their job. Two of them worked together to make it easier. Mommy held him and I helped hold his little arm. After the initial stick my grandson quick crying very quickly and actually watched the process. We arrived around 10:30 with no one in the lobby but it filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. The staff is kind, respectful and good at what they do. This was my 3rd time to come here and we'll definitely be back. read more

This place is ridiculous! I've been here since 7:45 and it's now 8:20 and they haven't even confirmed my sign in yet. You sign in on an iPad and then they eventually call you to the desk to confirm what your having done and your insurance. The girls that work here are nice enough, but when a person comes in here before work and is fasting, kindness only goes so far. These folks very much move at their own pace with one person at the front desk and one taking blood. I guess due to the proximity of my house, this is the best option, but if I had a choice, I would NOT come here. Sadly Diagnostic Clinic closed! Just know if you come here, you'll be sitting around so plan your time wisely! read more

I have gone to plenty of CPL's in Austin, and this one has the worse staff by far. The main person shows up late, is purposefully slow, and is so very rude to people. I would avoid this place unless you can't get to another location. read more

Only one staff member. Office opens at 7:30 instead of 7. Office waiting room too small so you often have to stand in the early morning. Fluorescent tubes burned out in waiting room, so office maintenance is below par. read more
