Phlebotomists are great: I've had Jennifer and Dawn, and both were friendly, professional, and got 3+ vials without pain. Front desk staff are hit or miss -- I've gotten some curt responses, especially over the phone, but mostly friendly ones. It's not a huge deal, but I have a similar job and have always made an effort to be pleasant even when I'm losing my mind under stress. The clinic itself is clean, comfortable, and I'm glad to see they are following social distancing techniques for the waiting room (blocking off chairs, no more checking in via communal touchscreen). I was surprised they didn't separate out used pens but otherwise I didn't feel like my safety was endangered by my visit. One note about this clinic: when my labs are faxed in physically, they don't ever seem to get to the clinic. I don't know if this is an incoming or outgoing fax issue, but my recommendation is to always call ahead and double-check to see if your labs are there before you leave the house.

There was none. So I called and they told me to go in and up to the second floor. I did. There was still no signage, and I asked three people who worked there where it was, and none of them had ever heard of it. One sent me to the only lab they knew of in the hospital, but it was a different lab. I called back and asked where it was and what entrance it was at again. No idea. I asked where this person parked when she went into work. She said it was in the east entrance. Why was that so hard?? She reiterated that all I had to do was to go up to the second floor and it was there. On top of it she was sort of rude, the way people get when asked questions they dont know, but know that they SHOULD know. Ok, I go to the east entrance and the only parking was a gated lot for employees, and a small, full lot that said it was for expectant mothers only. That was the ONLY place to park there, so I did. I entered, went to the second floor, and STILL no signs. I asked an employee who pointed me down the hall to some double doors. The doors were locked with key access only, and an alarm sounded when I tried to open them. Then I asked another person. Remember, this is the FIFTH person who worked there that I asked. She took me down another hall, and pointed, telling me to go to the end, and down the stairs, and that it was down the hall to my right. I told her that CPL told me it was on the second floor, and she told me "the people there dont really know whats going on". Thats for sure. So I did what she said, and sure enough, it was there on the FIRST floor, with only a tiny sign on the glass door. Its now 4:50 and Ive been running around for over half an hour. They close at 5. Of course, the door is locked, the room is dark, and nobody is answering the phone even though they arent supposed to be closed yet. These people are absolutely clueless. Let's reiterate: 1. The people in the office dont know where they themselves work. 2. They dont know even what floor they are on!! 3. They have zero signs, inside or out, except the sign on the door which is only visible when you are standing in the hall directly in front of the door 4. They leave early, locking the door, and not answering the phone even when they know there has been someone looking for them in the building 5. They direct you to enter an entrance where the only parking is a lot for expectant mothers. 6, Apparently even the few people in the hospital who know of CPL's existence, know the place is a lost cause. This place is staffed with shockingly clueless morons, and is too lazy to have a single sign on the large property, and too lazy to work until their hours state they do. I will NEVER go to a CPL again. Go to Austin Regional clinic. They are competent and helpful, know where they work and how to get there, unlike CPL.

This was one of the most disheartening and discouraging healthcare experiences I've ever had -- and what makes it worse is that it was my first time seeking help for my mental health in over 15 years. I grew up in an environment where asking for help -- especially when it came to medication for mental health -- was seen as a weakness. So it took everything in me to finally overcome that and make an appointment. After a particularly overwhelming six months, I built up the courage to be honest about what I was struggling with and what had worked for me in the past. I wasn't demanding anything -- I was simply trying to communicate openly, hoping for a supportive and respectful conversation about my care. Instead, I was met with judgment and ultimately rejection by Harley Berning. She initially prescribed me a lower dose of the medication I mentioned -- no concerns or hesitation. But after I followed up with a message asking if this was the right plan going forward, everything changed. My prescription was suddenly revoked after it had already been sent in and paid for, and I was told she could no longer continue my care. It felt like I was being punished for being honest. I was mischaracterized, dismissed, and made to feel like I had done something wrong just for asking questions and advocating for myself. That kind of distrust -- especially when someone is finally trying to seek help after years of struggling -- is incredibly damaging. This experience didn't just shake my trust in one provider. It made me question whether I should have ever reached out in the first place. And I imagine I'm not the only one who's walked away from One Medical feeling like this. If you're someone who's anxious, vulnerable, or trying to overcome the stigma of getting mental health care -- be careful.
