I have donated a handful of times before at a different center which I had no issues with. My first time with this center took almost two hours in total and my donation was not able to be completed. The staff stuck me and moved the needle 3-4 times causing this bruising, but were ultimately unable to hit my vein. Despite during the application process, both my arms were giving a "green" indicating both could be used. They were going to have to switch to my other arm which I declined and they told me I would only get $5. I left very unhappy, but attempted another effort today. I was informed that the hour and half process I had went through prior was not valid because the donation was not completed (due to no fault of mine). I had only returned due to a voicemail the team left saying my first two donations would be $150 each. Poor communication from the entire center. read more

I really liked going here, I really did. The staff were so nice, the clinic is clean and never busy at noon. The whole operation goes smoothly and I've donated 7 times in total. My only complaint is they draw WAY too much blood. Twice as much as the BioLife in Kyle pulls. And they pay the same. I wouldn't mind if I didn't nearly pass out today at the end of the donation and I almost fainted driving home. I thought I was going to have a medical emergency driving home. I am not dehydrated and I've eaten as much food as I can. But they pull out 1100 units of plasma today. They pull 600 at the other clinics. They told me this is an experimental system that pulls blood based on your BMI instead of your weight, but they never tested my BMI, they just keep pulling more and more each visit! My first visit they pulled 800, second visit was 900, then it was 1000 after that, now it's 1100. This is ridiculous! I can barely function now after all that and it's dangerous to drive home! I love this place but they are too greedy! They don't pay anymore than the other clinics that pull half as much blood. I really wanted to keep going here. I'm retired and I thought it would be a great way to make some pocket money. I'm not homeless like most of the people that come here. If they didn't try to take advantage of me in such a way I would keep going. Maybe that's why the place is so empty. Maybe people are getting sucked dry and they are too scared to come back. I really enjoyed this clinic and the staff were amazing. But their protocol that they have in place is not good. read more

Points to note about BPA they never Divulge 1) if you give a blood sample... This sample goes into the US Database as a DONATION , so when you miss a needed donation compensation and go to another Plasma center, you will be shown as double donating and in some cases withdrawn from future Plasma Donations, anywhere.. 2) You are allowed only 3 Blood samples before you are terminated from donating at BPA, if i knew this i would have drank 5 gallons of Protein shakes, had a Protein reading of 59 and 60 was the minimum, so Petty Not happy how this Plasma Center operates read more

So I went in for my 42nd donation the other day. I know most of the staff on a first name basis and like most of them. I try to be tolerant. The the needle went in I knew something was up, but they told me it was fine. But every time I moved it hurt a little. Then I looked down and saw a huge bubble where it had clearly infiltrated the muscle and my whole bicep was sagging and painful. They told me it was fine. As a nurse aide I knew they were wrong so I started to take it out myself and that finally got them to look... and lo and behold my arm is a horror show. The next day it's a swollen, bruised mess costing me hundreds of dollars at an urgent care to make sure i dont have and clots for anything. Im a long time customer, and to not even be offered any compensation for what im dealing with is a pretty big slap in the face. Being disrespected is one thing, but neglect is something else. Had an incompetent employee not only mess up my stick but make several questionable actions prior. Not changing gloves, not wiping down the seat between donors and touching the incision site with dirty gloves after iodine was used on the area which means the area is not longer sanitized. I asked 3 times to have the needle removed as it was causing pain and the machine was on malfunctioning. It took her over 10 minutes to remove the needle and she argued with me the whole time. Spoke to the manager who seemed to care even less about her job and the safety of others than the "nurse". I've had some bad experiences here but this takes the cake. Awful people. read more

I'll give them 1 star. The older Supervisor man, who was very nice attentive & respectful to all the questions I had to ask him deserves a full 5 stars! On the other hand , the techs working on the main floor are just plain disrespectful. I have been to this location plenty of times & never had a issue. Every time I walk in there's always new staff / new faces. As soon as it's my turn to get evaluated & to check vitals (blood pressure, temp) I notice one of the gals rolling her eyes making gestures of how many people she has to attend. It's your job right to attend and evaluate everyone. Once I made it to the donor floor that's when the day turned to worse. The technician who came to stick me made my vein swell up and cause major disturbance to the machine given it an error. I repeatedly asked for the machine to be stopped to 3 different girls on the floor and neither assisted me right away. Finally the first girl who stick me incorrectly in the first place came and stopped the machine and was able pay me out. She then follow up telling me what not to do and provided a canned Gatorade for me to drink she applied the gauze but didn't bother to remove the leftover applicator which I'm not so sure why : she seemed to be in such a rush. For 30$ don't waste your time here. Now my vein is swollen and I Feel a tad discomfort ! read more

I've been coming here for years and NEVER seen such unprofessional behavior ! Not just at a donor center but by a management period ! It made everyone there feel uncomfortable and you could tell other donors and employees felt uncomfortable as well ! I gave plasma on July 11th. This is what happened...this bruise is 6 inches long and 4 inches wide. (Wraps around my bicep) The staff at BPL is friendly, I just question the amount of training for the people performing the stick. I won't be able to donate for weeks! read more

I make a ton of money here. Sometimes it's really packed, but I'm starting to figure out the best times to go. They have lots of bonuses every month if you come consistently. Play pretty good shows on the TV. I think all the employees are nice. It's quiet and relaxing. So the lady that I guess in the office, said she doesn't need Medical and sent me out, and didn't even get compensated, for what they did. I'm convinced a donor's plasma is worth a lot more to BPL than $30. But I'm okay with what they pay. What I don't appreciate is their disrespect for my time. I've never had an issue with the back room techs. They've always been great. My problem is with the screening process. It shouldn't take an hour or more to be screened as a repeat donor and it not be busy. BPL's process is flawed. They've been promising a streamlined questionnaire for 9 months but hasn't happened yet. And having to go see a medical supervisor multiple times in the same visit is a too much. I've only donated plasma a few times so far but have had great experiences so far. I plan to keep going for the foreseeable future. The techs are nice and so far my sticks have all been relatively painless. I read while donating and am pleased that the tv's aren't turned up to 10 like in most medical facilities. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I was there for almost two hours before they decided to turn me away because I had a needle mark on my arm from an IV that was placed at the hospital the week before. I have been here a total off five times, each being a bit more rougher than the last. I whole heartedly recommend asking for anyone in purple or black scrubs because they'll throw a newer person on. The last time I went I not only got a bad stick but the cuff cut off my blood flow. Now the kicker was that they needed to give my blood back in order for me to come back and not be deferred for two months, but the machine refused to do so making it a bit harder. And if anything goes wrong just know that you'll be used as an example. Oh and they'll give you an extra 20 dollars as a convenience fee read more

I had a very horrible experience with an employee here named Sam. During our medical review, I answered a question with "I don't know" and he started saying something about how that's not a good answer basically. Then he was saying I was "changing my story" (whatever that means, because i had said maybe 10 words to him the entire time and half of them were yes/no) and he started saying some other weird things. He mentioned he had to find out if i was lying or not, and he also mentioned that "people get angry when they don't get to donate, and we don't like that here" as he threatened to permanently defer me from ever donating at BPL Plasma. I asked if there was anyone else who could do the exam and he said no. I told him he was making me uncomfortable by saying weird things. I was asking him to continue our medical exam, and every time I asked him to continue he just kept saying "im trying to" but he was still talking about me lying or something like that. Eventually I just got up and went to the front desk, where he followed, and he was interrupting me when I was speaking to the other employees. And he also said in front of them, "you changed your story multiple times, ma'am" which is a blatant lie. This was my first experience at any kind of plasma donation center and it might be my last. I feel very wronged. also yeah he deferred me. When the manager came to talk to me she said I was deferred because I wouldn't talk about my medications or something. This really sucks, I could've saved lives by now. I worry about anyone else who has to work with or be examined by Sam. I really hope someone will do something about this! They also mentioned there was nothing they could do about my deferral, even if somebody made it with the wrong intent, like I believe Sam did. As I type this, I am reminded of how sad it is that Sam would let something as petty as him making me uncomfortable prevent me from donating plasma and saving lives. read more

My 19 yr old daughter came in to donate for the first time on September 12, 2018. She still has not received payment. She was given a "BPL debit card" that was supposed to have a $50.00 balance, however the balance was $0.00. She was told to come in to get a new card and yet again the balance was $0.00. That was September 14, 2018. Today is September 15, 2018 and still she has not received payment. We spoke to a supervisor regarding payment and she said that there was a "glitch" in the system regarding her payment and the IT dept needs to fix it before she can get payment. I was told they don't know how many days that could take. My daughter doesn't live in this city and has already spent $50.00 in gas driving to this fraudulent place. She donated because she didn't want to borrow money for gas to get to school and work, however due to this fraudulence she has had to borrow money. And still await payment. read more
