Reading others' reviews were pretty interesting, because I've had a completely opposite experience - I'm generally not a fan of doctors, especially needles but I absolutely love this place. Yes, that's saying a lot! I'm also Deaf & ASL is my primary language - at first, I was worried they'd turn into a deer stuck in headlights once they realized I was deaf, but nope. Everyone was so sweet, understanding & communicative. They made sure we could communicate via pen & paper, or via notes on our phones if it was necessary. Some of them even knew some sign language, or just some basic gestures. They definitely know what they're doing - I've donated over 10 times now, and each experience was smooth & painless even with a different technician every time. That's such a rarity, right?? No bruises or repeated stabbing with a needle, lol. The place is also clean & spotless and I see them wipe down everything after someone uses a bed or a station, or whatever. Every single time. Everyone is just so friendly and knowledgeable, and it feels pretty good donating plasma knowing I'm helping others in need (plus getting some side cash? A easy win-win)! I just went in to do my second donation. The first one I had earlier this week and it took about 5 hours to get everything done the first time, which I understand. Today, I came in and had to wait 45 minutes for a manager to come to the front because I was supposedly deferred. All for them to tell me they needed to confirm my address. Seriously? It took 45 minutes for you to ask me for the address that I confirmed and gave all of my info for during my first donation. Anyways, after waiting an hour to get into the now very long line to have my vitals checked. (There was nobody in the line when I got there.) I was finally able to have my finger pricked and all of that. Then supposedly my blood pressure was 2 beats per minute too high. I naturally have anxiety and so my heart rate last time was about 4 points too high, they then let me wait 5 minutes and retry. So after they gave me anxiety because I waited 45 minutes thinking they found something in my blood or some other issue that may have deferred me, they then stabbed my finger, which i'm sure also raised my bpm. The employee I got to take my vitals was also kind of rude and told me to go wait another 10 mins until I could retry. So I go and retry and BIG SURPRISE, my bpm is 102. So after they gave me anxiety for an hour, then made me wait in an extra long line, then stabbed me and took my blood. This lady was much less experienced with the blood taking as well because that took much longer than last time and she seemed she didn't know what she is doing. Anyways, all that to say I don't think I will be returning to this location. I want to help save lives but apparently I can't do that if I have anxiety. Thanks Biolife! I've seen all the reviews and always wondered how it got to that point. I've been to this location multiple times, didn't have a problem until recently. Times previously the needle didn't hurt but this time it felt rushed, Its never hurt so bad. Due to my blood not pumping as frequent they told me they had to readjust. Which was fine, until 6 times later of them having to "readjust". I finally had enough when they were moving the needle and blood started draining down my arm. I immediately told them if they have to poke me one more time or move to my other arm like they suggest that I won't continue the process. If you can't get it right on my arm where you can clearly see 3 of my veins why would I let you poke me on the other arm where my veins aren't visible. Scheduling is a slap in the face to anyone who attempts to do business at the Kyle location and I cannot fathom the absolute stupidity of the logic in the "New Customer" Drive. 1. How much are you spending on advertising and financial incentives to get NEW customers in the door? 2. How much time does it take to process a NEW client vs EXISTING? (By my casual observations during the wait-times for my non-appointment, at a BARE MINUMUM 4 times longer than the existing client - just in case you haven't figured that out yet. 3. For every NEW client that you enroll, have you calculated how many EXISTING clients are walking out to NEVER return? YOU CAN ADD ONE WALK OUT HERE. As an existing client, I am insulted and furious at the disrespect and indecency with which you treat us. The scheduling issue has been on-going since September. For about 4 days in October, things got better - I went in once where I was #4 in line for Vitals. Today (3rd strike) I was #20. There were two, and intermittently 3 techs doing Vitals. I observed several (6 to be exact) employees wandering around aimlessly, chatting in groups, wandering in/out of break rooms, disrupting the 2 techs who were actually working the Vitals, I think your own staff is experiencing the frustration of the clients as they are usually a happy, cohesive, and focused bunch. Your drive to cut costs is wearing on everyone. Today, NO ONE with any sense of urgency, no Manager visible. No smiles anywhere. During the 4 days in October mentioned above, I guess there were techs from other locations there to "put out the fire". Well, that didn't last nearly long enough. By my calculations my 12:15 appointment would start at 1:05Pm - this after arriving at 12:10pm. FIFTY FIVE MINUTES IN LINE TO GET 5 MINUTES OF VITALS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NINETY (90) MINUTES TO COMPLETE A 45 MINUTE PROCEDURE IS INEXCUSABLE. I drive 31 miles each way to get there, so before I even start the donation I'm committed to 80 minutes. When I spend that time to get there and experience avoidable delays, needless to say I leave disgusted and frustrated. No need to respond to this complaint. I'll post it on every social media platform I can find as a warning to other unsuspecting potential donors. I WON'T BE BACK. I was on my third donation at this facility and let me tell you the first was amazing, the second was rough but I pulled thorough it. The third time is the charm right. Wrong! I had one nice gentleman checked me in got everything ready and then was abruptly pulled away before being able to insert the needle into my arm. Then 15 mins goes by then the same person who pulled the first person from me showed up demanding all my info again offering no explanation whatsoever as to what happened. Then after asking that he told me the other person wasn't seasoned enough to stick me as a third visit. Ok I get that but why did it take him 15 mins to come back. All the while the needle package sat open on the machine this whole time. So after I thought about it I flagged him down and asked if he used a fresh needle as the fact the needle he actually stuck me with sat opened on the machine. He said he opened a new one. I asked to see the packages and he couldn't. So I asked to see the scan data as they scan each needle and if he actually used a new one there should be two numbers associated with my name today. He said he would have to get his manger. Which he did and she came over and I asked the policy of a needle being laid down and sat for 15 mins before being inserted into a patients arm. She couldn't tell me that but decided to explain something completely different that I told her I already understood that part. So I asked for the gentleman's name that placed this unsanitary needle in my arm and she said she didn't know his name. So let me get this straight you dont know the man's name that is training the new techs to stick needles in patients arms? This same person who blatantly lied to me and told me he put a second needle in my arm. I asked the manager for contact info to get some answers and some training done in this building. But she said I have to use the contact us on the app or the website. So here I am. This will also be copied and pasted into my google and yelp review accounts. This was very unacceptable and unprofessional. I just hope I don't have any issues at the needle site the next few days. read more

Most of the staff is extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. I only went nine times before I finally threw in the towel due to the pain and lack of the staff not knowing how to perform their jobs. Most of the times, people are rejected for a variety of reasons due to the staff misplacing the needle and failing to draw any blood. This results in little to no money for the patient. What made me quit indefinitely was my last visit. The "nurse" misplaced the needle and began digging through my arm looking for it; which was painful to say the least. Then, she misses the vain and walks away! Leaving me with a hematoma, which is basically a broken blood vessel spouting blood under your skin. Needless to say, I was furious and will not return. Furthermore, there are much better places to give plasma other than this place. Save yourself the time and turmoil and go someplace else. read more

The "nurse" Bea at this location is extremely rude. I stopped in to donate in honor of a friend with Kawasaki disease. She said I was sniffling (I definitely wasn't) and couldn't donate- it was such an odd encounter and I definitely won't be back. It's super weird to argue with people who are trying to give, not all of us do it for the money- that's just a small perk. I'll choose another place to donate IHO of my friend. Absolutely terrible. I went there five times and was not able to donate plasma for one reason or another due to their mistakes. I've donated MANY times at different establishments but this place is so poorly ran - they make it impossible. I had to acquire a doctors note because I had PTSD from a car accident I was in over a decade ago which took them three weeks to send to my doctor. I told them MANY times it would not affect me donating plasma and that I was perfectly comfortable with needles but instead of trusting me that I knew my body, they insisted I have a note from a doctor I haven't seen a single time in nearly 8 years. It felt so degrading. There was also large drops of blood on their floor and counters that nobody cleaned over the course of several hours and the people drawing blood didn't change their gloves between patients. Don't be discouraged by some of the negative reviews, bruises and hematomas are a potential side effect that we ALL acknowledge and agree might happen. I've been to this location a dozen times and each time is just as smooth as the previous time (with the exception of waiting times that are at most 20mins). Staffing is being worked on and more people are in the process of training. Be open minded and patient. The staff is friendly, know that they are there to do their job quickly and efficiently to provide you with necessary elements to successfully complete a donation. If you are an existing donor and have an appointment, they will most likely bypass anyone with a physical appointment (must wait for an available tech to properly sign you up and perform a physical with the nurse, that way the waiting line is less congested. Physical and donation takes about 2 hours depending on how many people are ahead of you. I donate at 11:30am and majority of the time they are flowing well. Some donors are more patient than others, some donors are more understanding of others. I enjoy the staff and I enjoy going overall. Definitely make sure you have time to kill if you're in a time crunch ever, because staffing can be unpredictable. Plasma donation is popular for quick $$, so there is and will be a lot of people depending on the times you choose to go. I came there to safe a live. And I left thinking they don't really need my help!! I got into the office and they were really nice. I fill out all of the sheets and than I could go to see the doctor. I'm completely healthy. Don't have any illnesses or operations. I would have been the best donor. But I have Anxiety and Panicattacks. So it could happen that I get a Panicattack. I haven't had one in over 3 Months. But it could happen and it would not be good for me or anyone else. The doctor told me I should get my anxiety in right hand and after that I could come back to give my Plasma. I don't think that I will ever come back there. I wanted to help, but after that I'm not sure. I'm so f***ing angry. I think I know what is best for me and not some random doctor who never had seen me before nor my Health History. read more

This is a fantastic environment from the cleanliness of the building to the kindness of the staff. I've donated many times and have had consistent experiences. Donating plasma is not only useful for medications made with it but an easy way to make some extra money with your no job having lazy blood. Even as a person who's scalp crawls at the thought of blood, I've been very comfortable here and continue to come back. They also have strangely good music playing. I've donated at this location several times. They are clean and friendly. They tend to be understaffed and extremely busy on most days. So, don't go unless you plan to allocate a few hours to being there and you've eaten something sustainable. The more hydrated you are the faster your actual donation process will go. My last visit, however, did not go as great. Make sure you request a "blue stick" when they insert the needle. This means an experienced tech will insert your line. I got someone inexperienced and while I'm all for getting practice in and making mistakes, I don't want to be the guinea pig. Each time you go is a different experience and depends on who is sticking you. I've been four times and the wait-time/ person is different every time. The longest i've been there is 2 hours and shortest is about an hour and a half. The staffing seems to be solid but everyone there is young and a lot of them act like it's social hour...which isn't super comforting for someone who's nervous to have conversations being thrown over your face across the room lol. I've waited 15mins before being taken off the machine simply because my person was chatting...I don't want to be sitting there with a needle in my arm any longer than I have to. I've been stuck and re-stuck and got left with a bad bruise. But i've also had easy and painless experiences. It really depends and also takes a few donations to get used to the process but you will. The only thing i'd change/recommend is being able to request a certain tech, once you go a few times you realize who you prefer and who you don't want sticking a needle in you. read more

I had a very dehumanizing experience today with Kaitlin/Katelan today. I was getting my blood drawn by Hailey and was sent for further review as she thought I was sleepy. Reasonable as I smoke which makes my heartrate go up and I do meditation when I arrive so I can reduce it as I didnt want to get sent home again which happened when it was once too high to donate. While I was waiting in the section across the room for further review I saw Kaitlin lean in and speak to hailey. Both turned around to look at me. I watched them and I could still see they were discussing me in front of a donor as the donor, facing me, saw me watching them. As I got up to walk over the donor then nodded over to me and said to Kaitlin "there she is". They were all smiling like it was a joke. Why was Kaitlin discussing a donor(me) in front of another donor? Why were two employees still talking about me with a donor after I departed the station? It felt very high school-ish. Very petty. Not to mention a total invasion of my medical privacy. Everyone else there has been delightful and warm. I enjoyed seeing some of the people I met the first time and think its a clean well-run facility save for this circumstance. read more

I have been going here for over a year now I hadn't had any issues until a few weeks back. I came in one morning and as i walked in i did my questions i walked up to get my vitals and i got KAITLIN she was so friendly with the person before me so i sat and said "good morning how are you" she rudely ignored me. I scanned in and she kept looking at me ugly she takes my pressure and it says it was high then asks me if i want to take 5 or 10 min i say 10 mins is ok with me i go sit and as im sitting KAITLIN walks up to her co worker and they start talking and laughing as they both turn to look at me. i patiently wait for the 10 min to be up as i wait i see she is calling up everyone BUT ME!!!!!!! 10 MIN pass by and nothing, 15 min still nothing 45 min and STILL WAITING the co worker finally asks me a obvious question she says " are you waiting to be retested" i said yes i am and i was about to get up thinking she was able to do my vitals but she says oh you have to wait i cant do it. 15 more min pass and Kaitlin finally calls me up. Each time i go and she does my vitals im always sent home for my pulse she is always gossiping about the doners and making me wait. She is one of the worst one ive had to deal with read more

Honestly never had an issue here. Every stick has been a good one, never waited too long w/ out explanation. I don't Rely on them for the money either. I do it for medicine & other factors of helping people. So all in all this is a decent place to donate. Just don't be an ungrateful pos & you'll be fine. Also listen to the instructions before you donate & you won't have issues. I think Most of the problems are bc people don't take care of themselves and try to blame the staff. Please get a life! The reason for the two star rating is because of the compensation for returning donors. As a first time donor you make $900-$1000 your first month. However, as a returning donor you get short-changed & only make $240 a month. How does this even make sense? Returning donors should continue to be compensated the same as a first time donor, certainly more than $80/week, especially with gas prices being so high. Some of us come from out of town and $20 for your first donation of the week doesn't even begin to cover the gas used to go to the center. Your second donation of the week gets you $60, that's if you don't get deferred and have to go back a different day. This is ridiculous, especially knowing BIOLIFE is making lots of money by selling your plasma, yet they only bother to pay returning donors so little, while first time donors up to $900-$1000. It's just not worth it for me anymore. read more

So I'm updating after 4 hours yes four hours I was able to get into the chair to donate once in the chair the technician obviously didn't know how to get a vein he stuck me couldnt get it and called over someone else they got the stick instantly but didn't take the blood sample so after a hot minute of going on the machine they realize it wasn't usable and they had to throw all of it away and try resticking me, I left unable to donate, bruised, and highly upset I was supposed to make 1000$ in 8 donations, and I didn't even go back it was the worst experience ever and when I asked about switching to a different center was informed that I couldn't go anywhere else or I would be blacklisted from donating. When I simply refuse to go to this facility, don't go here start somewhere else! read more

Drove 30 miles to be told Initially that I wasn't going to be able to be seen that day as has a new donor despite the fact that I was able to schedule my appointment easily online without any contraindications. Then I was told I need to eat a larger meal within an hour of donating. As a first time donor I read through all of the information online to be as informed and prepared as possible. prior to making my appointment. Information on line indicates you need to eat within three hours. So within an hour and a half for the appointment I had two hard-boiled eggs , rice crispies, a banana, coffee and toast. How much more can a person eat? Very disappointed in this experience. Such a waste of time. read more
