Everybody here is so "professional" that they talk to you like a robot and not a person. This seems like the kind of place where it is easy to lose your job because the rules are so strict. On your first few visits be prepared to wait. And wait you will it can take up to 5 hours depending on how busy they are and every time I've come they are (I've been three times.) Tips... Drink lots of water before you come. Come early in the day when it's not as busy. Don't have somewhere to be for several hours. Don't make jokes with the staff just give clear, short, and concise answers to there questions, and follow all of there little rules. The money isn't that grew for as long as it takes and all the bull crap that you have to put up with, but over time that money adds up. On your first visit make sure you bring your social security card... I bet you get a w-2 for your donation.

I've tolerated your horrible blue latex free torcher wrap. Change it please. Until then- doggie toys.

I waited to review this place to be sure the experience was genuine and not just great treatment as…read morea new donor. After coming for about 2 months I can say, overall it's been great. Due to the nature of the business, I'm very picky about cleanliness. They do a great job making sure everything is clean. You'll consistently see employees cleaning surfaces, changing gloves and strictly using instruments that are individually wrapped. While they do provide kid glove treatment to new donors (during your first few donations) it does fall off once you become a regular. However, that's not to say the treatment becomes bad, they're just not holding your hand or checking on you as often. But the most of the employees are still very friendly and personable. There are a few that, in my time coming here (about 2 1/2 months) I have never seen smile. And when interacting with them they are not friendly. They aren't outright rude, just curt. While I understand not everyone is friendly in the workplace, I do think this line of work requires a certain bedside manner. I'm not sure if these people have a certain worldview about the type of person that chooses to donate or what the issue is, but I do wish this type of attitude would be addressed. One of these people is a girl I prefer not to interact with AT ALL. Whether she's doing my needle stick or taking the needle out, she hurts me. She's so rough! I wasn't sure if she was just this way with me or not but I've noticed a few times another employee has to follow-up and redo the needle stick she's done on someone. I've seen it during the same visit with back to back donors and she doesn't seem to care. She's one of the only ones I feel shouldn't be here or at least not sticking people. But I recently found out you can request a certain person to do your needle stick so if you're uncomfortable know that it is perfectly fine to request someone else than the person running the section you're in. Outside of this one thing, this is a great place to come. Again, most of the employees here provide great support and are very knowledgeable. They'll even give you tips on more effective donation while going over your different vitals with you! I greatly appreciate that. From what I've observed there are people who have been coming here for some time as the employees know them on sight and they have a very friendly rapport. So I do highly recommend this location if you're considering donating, just keep in mind you can request someone else if you aren't comfortable with the person handling the needle or simply prefer a certain person.

After asking me the routine questions, I was sat in a comfortable chair and waited a few minutes for the donation to begin. They took 2 bags and the needle sticks were barely noticeable. The employees were like zombies and the person who did my intake was beyond rude. At one point she asked me if something was wrong and I said "I'd ask you the same question." She said "Im just being stern with you." I was chuckling over the whole experience and said "I've been donating for decades and never has anyone been stern with me. They're usually happy you're here donating." Then in the end, they took whole blood when they were supposed to be doing a double red donation on me. I'm O neg and have been giving blood for decades but have never experienced anything quite like that. I feel bad for the employees, as they all likely have mold poisoning and it's effecting their mood and cognitive abilities.

The bad: My friend arrived to donate as well, and they denied him because of an out of state tattoo. I get the reasoning behind the madness, but they missed out on some seriously good blood. The ugly: Not too much ugly here. They don't care what you look like, as long as you have healthy blood. Be prepared for an archaic computer interview and bring your state issued photo ID. They aren't going to take your school ID. If you have an ugly license photo, you are good to go. Super easy to do and I'll be back in June, got my sticker on my calendar already!

My first blood donation in more than 35 years was a pleasant, friendly, efficient and professional…read moreexperience. I had surpassed 4 gallons of blood, platelets, white cell and plasma donated before the FDA arbitrarily banned me from donations for life in 1985 because of my sexual orientation. For 38 years donor deferral was based on arbitrary science-denying gender and orientation-based risk assumptions. Very pleased to say We Are Blood operates under new FDA guidance that has been in place since 2023 and relies on assessing individual risk factors rather than making any assumptions about gender orientation or sexual partners. - All potential donors see non-gendered risk assessment/deferral questions when they come to donate. - All potential donors, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, will be asked the same questions and be assessed for blood donation eligibility based on individual risk factors. - The FDA's previous blood donation eligibility criteria based on sexual orientation, which restricted sexually active gay and bisexual men from giving blood, has been eliminated. Initial screening and qualification questionnaire completed, the intake process was quick, careful, caring, and friendly. The donation lounge itself is brightly decorated and open with comfortable chairs and friendly staff. Throughout, great care was taken to verify donor identity and to match to coded donated unit tracking. The whole process took about 40 minutes, including about 20 minutes for the actual donation. I enjoyed some orange juice and a snack afterward and a chat with some volunteers before heading out on my day . Plenty of adjacent free and ADA accessible parking right at the front door. Highly recommended and if you haven't donated in a while because of what were arbitrary restrictions, check back! Things have changed and blood donations are always needed particularly in the summer months.

We showed up on time and checked in at the front desk where they had us complete a thorough health screening. They gave us a free Amy's ice cream voucher and a Halloween themed T-shirt for donating that day. The center is clean, and I was comfortable in my seat. The phlebotomists are friendly and professional. Mine did a great job prepping me and finding my vein; I did not end up with a big bruise or any discomfort afterwards. It only took around 8-10 minutes to complete the process of blood collection. After we finished our donation, they provided us with plenty of snacks and made sure to go over after care instructions. I highly encourage you to donate if you are eligible! One unit of blood can save up to three lives.

My only complaint is they draw WAY too much blood. Twice as much as the BioLife in Kyle pulls. And they pay the same. I wouldn't mind if I didn't nearly pass out today at the end of the donation and I almost fainted driving home. I thought I was going to have a medical emergency driving home. I am not dehydrated and I've eaten as much food as I can. But they pull out 1100 units of plasma today. They pull 600 at the other clinics. They told me this is an experimental system that pulls blood based on your BMI instead of your weight, but they never tested my BMI, they just keep pulling more and more each visit! My first visit they pulled 800, second visit was 900, then it was 1000 after that, now it's 1100. This is ridiculous! I can barely function now after all that and it's dangerous to drive home! I love this place but they are too greedy! They don't pay anymore than the other clinics that pull half as much blood. I really wanted to keep going here. I'm retired and I thought it would be a great way to make some pocket money. I'm not homeless like most of the people that come here. If they didn't try to take advantage of me in such a way I would keep going. Maybe that's why the place is so empty. Maybe people are getting sucked dry and they are too scared to come back. I really enjoyed this clinic and the staff were amazing. But their protocol that they have in place is not good.

Me, the woman in charge, & her coworker were the only ones in the building. Verrrry quiet & all attention was directed to me. Paperwork took most of the time and it was explained very thoroughly before signing. Seeing as this was just my initial appointment, they only did a blood collection of 6-7 vials to test for diseases before I am permitted to donate white blood cells once cleared. The blood collection was taken in a very cushy chair where you're almost laying down. Afterwards, they gave me water and a snack and made sure I was ok. In the end, I was given $25 for the initial appointment. When you do an actual white blood cell donation (which I was told can take up to 3-4 hours!) the payout is a lot more. They also told me they have things like iPads with Netflix, magazines, etc to help keep you occupied during that time. They also gave me a free shirt! They told me that they had been up and running for 2 years but just started accepting clients within the last year. Anywho, the employee whom worked with me was super down to earth and great to talk to & answered all my questions. I'm currently waiting to hear back regarding white blood cell studies now so that I can start donating :) seems like a wonderful facility doing great work!
