Walking in, the waiting room is warm and welcoming with comfortable spaced out seating and drinks available while you wait. The customer service & bedside manner was next level, the kind you rarely find these days and definitely won't find at Ascension Seaton (AS). We had a devastating emergency yesterday, and went to Kyle ER after a horrible experience at AS. The receptionist, nurse, doctor, and specialists they brought in were amazing to work with, and helped me to feel comfortable in such a scary situation. Okay. It's a free standing ER. They arent in network with anybody. This will NOT be a cheap visit, period. They don't balance bill after your insurance pays them (plus whatever your portion is, under insurance). I did their detox program. While I didn't like not being able to interact with anybody other than staff (I mean, it's a hospital setting, so...), they have Roku Tvs with Netflix in the rooms, and you can sign into any of your own services. Jason and Tina in particular are amazing, but I had no negative experiences with anyone working there. I will say, if you're there long enough for a meal, it's going to be a frozen dinner that they throw in a microwave. The upside is you have an exact calorie and carb count, if that matters (I'm on insulin, I have to dose based on carb intake - they let me self administer since I'm on an insulin pump). At one point they apparently would order from restaurants, but that probably cut into the CEOs hush fund too much (joking) Thr care is great. The food is terrible (I mean... It's a frozen dinner). The bill will max out your deductible (and likely your out of pocket even on a HDHP). But they truly do care, and they've stayed in touch to see how I'm doing. I just want to say that that had to be the worst experience I've had at Kyle ER. I came there for help and I I feel like I was rushed out the door. I told the dr i didn't want suboxone for him to just prescribe it to me anyways. The day I left I couldn't even walk straight and I was seeing double. Thank god I didn't drive myself there I 100% would've wrecked. Even hours later my brother had to follow me in my car and I almost rear ended someone. I didn't even know I was leaving so soon. I didn't even get to talk to anyone about any possible next steps before leaving. The staff was really rude and there was little communication about anything. This was my third or 4 stay and by far the worst. Wouldn't recommend for anyone wanting to actually detox. read more

Best hospital experience I have ever had. The amount of attention and care you receive from these nurses, nurse practitioners, and the doctor is way above and beyond. It's on the opposite side of town for me, but it came highly recommended. If you can believe it, I didn't even want to leave. I felt so cared for. The facility is nice for, their rooms are private and large. But just a wonderful staff! Even the admissions and administrative staff will check on how you're doing. Awful front desk experience of incompetency and their billing process is untrustworthy. I gave two stars for the worst administrative service, despite the attentive care the medical staff rendered. I was receiving ER treatment for over 2 hours, when I checkout the front desk clerk had my insurance information and stated I had no copayment or payment due. Well, two months later, I was hit with an over $800 bill, so evidently the their clerk was too lazy and inept, to call to verify benefits and calculate the appropriate fees. It wasn't even busy as there were only 2 patients, including myself. I don't know how this is even legal, I will never seek any treatment at this clinic again. read more

DONT COME HERE. Went in because my boyfriend wasn't feeling well etc.. told them we didn't have insurance. Money was not an issue for us but felt like they didn't make us a priority for not having insurance waited for more then 30 minutes. And when my boyfriend went in he had questions and they wouldn't seem to care and sent us home asap saying he's good with no test taken at all. August 12th around 10pm I came in for chest pain. To the woman who was working that night at the front desk, I just want you to know that I'll never forget you. I'll never forget the way you treated me when I came in extreme pain, fearing for my life. I'll never forget the annoyed look on your face when I interupted your quiet evening. Your barely contained eye roll when I told you I didn't have insurance along with the 'I don't have time for this' attitude. The bored look on your face while you made sure I understood that I would NOT be seen by a doctor until I could guarantee payment. Even as I started crying because it was getting harder to breathe, I still wasn't a human being to you. I was less than that. I was an inconvenience and not worth your compassion. And of course, I'll never forget how you started to shoo me away and told me to go to another hospital because obviously I wasn't worth your time. Doctors, nurses, and even you absolutely deserve to be paid for all the hard work you do. But in your fight for acknowledgement please don't forget your humanity. I hope you see this. I was recently in a accident with my motorcycle and was brought here. The doctors and trama team were outstanding! All very freindly and kind. The treatment received here was exceptional! Neglectful and dangerous and cruel. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was seen last night by Dr. GARY MITCHELL and it could not have been worse. He neglected to do labs because I am a hard stick and instead of using the sonogram to get an iv he just decided to not get one and not do any labs or see what was wrong in any way. While I laid in my room puking my brains out in excruciating pain he told me to my face that "he didn't believe me. I am doing this to myself on purpose and there is nothing actually wrong. I will never get better and he's too busy to help me". The way I was treated by Dr. GARY MITCHELL was shameful but also neglectful and dangerous. I arrived at a different hospital last night and they actually did their job and took blood and looked at labs. Almost every single lab of mine was way too high or low and my white blood cell count was double what it should be. I am very sick and thankfully I found people who actually do the job they are in. Doctors have so much power and control over the help someone gets when they need it and this doctor (GARY MITCHELL) for some reason decided I didn't deserve even the most basic of services by an ERdoctor like getting labs drawn and seeing if anything is off. Dr GARY MITCHELL went on to tell my boyfriend that he was an "extremely patient man for putting up with me and would one day realize how I'm just lying about being sick". It was disgusting the way he treated me and is malpractice. If you want to be seen as a person and not blown off and neglected by your doctor dont take your chances going here. If you're really sick and know that something isn't right do NOT go to Kyle ER and Hospital because if Dr. GARY MITCHELL is your doctor there is a good chance he'll decide you are just lying and decide you are not worth treating and even the basics of how you are supposed to be seen at the hospital will not be done. I think it's incredibly irresponsible to have someone like Dr. GARY MITCHELL on staff let alone for him to still be practicing medicine at all. If he's not willing to treat all patients he should not be allowed to treat any. I'm truly disgusted with how I was treated and will not tolerate it. Do not go here if you don't have too. They kept us for a small fracture for 3 hours to only then send us somewhere else to be taken care bc of a concern for a rare symptom. Incompetent or Lazy? It has to be one or the other unless it just plain greed. Three emergency room visits by my dad. All three times they were capable of reaching me by phone and email to sign all the release forms for admission. Then miraculously they were unable to call me or call the nursing home or email me or email the nursing home to declare his release. No they just ordered an ambulance so they could dump him out as quickly as possible and free up a bed for another money maker. Why does this matter? Because they coded his release non-medical meaning insurance will not pay for the ambulance ride! Their complete incompetence or laziness allows staff to just call one number every time for every patient to dump them out. Why bother looking up the numbers of actual responsible individuals when you can dump them into an ambulance and stick the bill on someone else. When I contacted the head of the Emergency Room, he blatantly lied saying he had repeatedly tried to respond to my complaint. I have no missed calls, no emails stuck in junk. His only answer we will review policy. If you have loved ones don't ever let them be taken to Seton Kyle Emergency- you will be paying for it in more ways than one! This is not the main hospital ER in Kyle. So they might not take you. I went there with severe abdominal pain (turned out to be a kidney stone) and they wouldn't take me because I'm on Medicare. Went to the Kyle er because i Dislocated my shoulderon July3 at 7:00 pm. It wasn't busy. We were in there for approx 3 hours. I received the bill and it was outrageous. My husband had to help SET my shoulder back. They charged me 221.00 for a 5.00 sling. My bill that I owed after insurance was nearly 2,000. I've tried reaching the patient advocate to go over the bill and adjust it appropriately. CRICKETS!! I want assistance for this double billing. I DO NOT EVER recommend this place. beware read more

Just before midnight on New Years day my 3 year old son had a very high fever of 105 and started to vomit. we gave him a fever reducer a few hours earlier but it wasn't bringing down his temperature, so we didn't want take any chances after he threw up and decided to take him to the ER. Kyle ER was a bit closer than Seton Medical Center so we decided to give them a chance and it was a great decision. The check in process was was extremely fast, we were in the examining room before we had the paper work done. The nurses were awesome! The care and compassion they showed toward my son was outstanding. They did a really good job, especially Misty she really knows her stuff. The overnight doctor on staff Dr.Campbell? (I think that was her name) was also incredible. She was very polite, understanding, and very down to earth. Everyone there demonstrated outstanding customer service, I was very impressed. They even had an exam room just for kids with cartoon figures on the wall and television so your child can watch cartoons and feel a bit more at ease. I saw some comments about some insurance providers not covering a visit to Kyle ER but I had no problems. I had bluecross blueshield PPO as my insurance provider and the only thing I had to pay had was my co-pay. I suggest people call their insurance provider before an emergency comes up and find out if they will cover the costs for care at a stand alone ER like Kyle ER. The bottom Line? Kyle ER was great! I took my son to Seton about 2 years ago and the wait time was much longer and even though the Nurses I dealt with were nice, the Doctor was very cold, distant, and the place was a bit chaotic. The complete opposite from my experience at Kyle ER. Going to the ER is never a good thing, and I hope me or my family never have another medical emergency, but if an emergency does come up, Kyle ER will be our first choice. read more

I've waited some time like months to sit down and write this review and this is solely based on my personal experience. I would never return to this ER/Hospital nor recommend it. My first visit several months ago I went in with a migraine they couldn't find my vein I was pricked several times and finally a Nurse said I think I got it . Well my black and blue arm felt all the medicine just floating and no she didn't have it. Never double checked so yeah I went home with the same migraine. My latest visit last month went in with a migraine this time it was super severe. I had a male nurse that upon entering the room seemed like he didn't care nor wanted to be there and smelled like strong smoke/cigarettes. The female doctor came in talked to me and gave the male nurse instructions on the medication. I asked several times did he see my allergies to medication he replied yes. He proceeded to give me 4 medications intravenously and after 2 minutes I knew something was wrong (didn't know what) my heart was racing I was slurring , couldn't move, couldn't feel any of my body parts . I started screaming and he kindly took his time and said I'm going n my way I can hear you and I said something is not right help me. I screamed over 3 minutes. He went out I heard him on the phone apparently talking to the doctor (which not sure why she left this is a hospital right ). After approximately 5 minutes the doctor came in asking me what I was feeling and I attempted to tell her but my speech was super slurred. I heard her tell him the nurse to go get some medicine and it should calm me down. Another 3-5 minutes he came back with the medicine and yes it did calm whatever was going on. I told them I'm ready to go now. Got my discharge papers and called a ride. I saw the "light" I swear I was dying in that room. The lack of care, empathy, and concern was unwarranted. Your Insurance is OUT of Network!!! I want to assure anyone who is questioning whether or not your visit will be subsidized. I want to assure it will most certainly NOT!! I have blue cross blue shield PPO corporate insurance. My premiums are pretty high and as such whenever I go to the hospital or specialists my expenses are very low. It is AMAZING insurance and as such a pay a premium for it. I am a healthcare professional and I know to question if the hospital is in network. Upon showing up at Kyle ER, they assured be that it was IN-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. I questioned them at least three times and they said yes. I get my bill in the mail and I come to find out that they billed my insurance company over $6700 for a visit that consisted of 3 bags of Lactated Ringers and three sets of basic metabolic panels. The visit occupied the room for just under 4 hours. Now explain to me how it could come to this total with amazing insurance. Bottom Line: If they don't take my insurance, they Definitely will NOT take yours!! Do NOT believe what their clerk says. Go elsewhere!! Lastly, I want to point out that there is no way they would charge a cash-paying customer this amount. My point is that they are most likely double dipping. What I mean by that is they are accepting payment from my insurance company and then likely charging me what they would have charged a patient with no insurance. This is a complete scam! Advice to future customers would be to pay their bill and then sue them, which is exactly what I'm going to do. Paying your bill is important because you don't want to go on collection. Remember: You do not need a lawyer to sue them in Small Claims Court where the amount in question is lower than $5k which it will most likely be. read more

I got Covid tested through their drive thru service and the doctor immediately treated me as though I had the Corona Virus. Understandable. Without even knowing if I have it or not his advice was go home lock yourself up and watch Netflix till your result comes in. 3 days later I get the call with a positive test result and I'm still not given any medical advice whatsoever on what to do for treatment. I had all underlying symptoms and was symptomatic the day of testing. Fever, chills, violent cough, aches..... So, the main concern I have with not having been given treatment, is that my husband went to a different clinic to get tested and before he even got a result they already gave him paperwork, invoice, and a treatment prescription for him to take of vitamins and such follow up care instructions with follow up of doctors information. The doctor I saw at Kyle ER did none of the above, not only did he not say his name, share a contact, give me an invoice, give me treatment....I had to ask questions about over the counter ei: (Tylenol or ibuprofen) follow up care and his advice was go home and lock my door? I wasn't even given follow up care in the portal website, nothing was in my chart but my test, not even my symptoms written down not even the nurse that called me with my result had any medical advice not even routine healthy things to say ?! Meanwhile, my husband got follow up care from the doctor that he saw the same day. So..... If you want a quick result sure go here, but if you want treatment for the virus from a "real" doctor DON'T GO HERE. read more

Then after 4 hours of trying to reach someone they tell me they cant give any medical advice. Im a nurse myself and just needed some help. Your company is a shame to the medical field. I literally rubbed my eye and like a punch, immediately felt pain. I waited a couple of hours and then tried to "google doctor" it. All the articles said I'll lose my vision. Seton Hays, I'm sure was slammed and I didn't want to wait hours in pain. Self standing ERs are a big unknown for me, based truly on my opinion, not proven. Skill set, billing, conditions etc. However, ten minute wait. I walked in and went through the registration process, it was seemless. I partook in the chip basket and a Sprite. That was a nice touch. They walked me back to the room and everyone was extremely friendly and caring. The facility was spotless. The tech did the vitals, and the nurse took the initial complaint. And then... In comes Doctor Donna Campbell... My gosh! Her personality, professional candor, take charge attitude, was amazing. She called the shots, told me not to move while she began inspecting my eye. She had the pain stopped in minutes. After a few more tests she diagnosed me with a Cornial Abrasion. A small scrape of the eye. She put medicine into my eye and gave me a cool pirate patch to sleep in. As she was wrapping up, she advised in the begining of her career she worked as an Ophthalmologist. I was extremely lucky to see her that night. My wife and I are so grateful for the staff at Kyle ER, and especially Dr. Campbell. An amazing experience. The only part I was not a fan of, billing. I have no idea what my bill will be and y'all need to improve that process. Especially with the new No Surprises Act. Thank you again for everything!!! I went to kyle er after injuring my knee water skiing. I knew something was not right. I was seen and had an X-ray done after my exam. The doctor told me that there was likely a ligament tear or more but that they normally do an X-ray to rule out any bony issues. She also told me that exams often don't pick up on even not so subtle ligament injuries ...that MRI is the "tunnel of truth". Lol. She said I'd need to stay off of it and take motrin and elevate it and to follow up w the ortho specialist who would order the MRI etc. She said it s common to have the feeling that the knee is going to give out so it s best wear a brace and get to the specialist as soon as possible. I loved the explanation and treatment I received. I highly recommend this ER. read more

I was super stressed even deciding to go to the ER. I've been playing doctor at home, dealing with a cyst for over a year. Popping it myself with pins and sqeezing nastiness out of it daily. It was in my groin area and un a very private place. I had to lose my pride, and my modesty today... The main reason I didn't want to go to the doctor. . Dr Donna Campbell, and her staff made me feel so safe. Their bedside manner was impeccable. I felt like I was with friends. She did the procedure as gently as she possibly could. She took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly. She explained what caused my problem. She even told me how to care for it when I left. She was never rushed and answered every single question I had. She really truly cared. If she could be my family doctor, my clinic would have one vacancy. I feel so much better. The entire staff was amazing. Everyone was so kind and made me feel welcomed and never embarrassed. I recommend this location and Dr Donna Campbell. I can't thank each of them enough. Had the unfortunate visit to Kyle ER about midnight last Wednesday night. Went in with excruciating kidney stone pain. To say I was a whiny pain stricken baby is putting it mildly.. I was quickly admitted with one signature and a quick photo copy of my ID and insurance card. I was in a room getting an IV and pain meds, and relief, as quickly as they could! I was seen by a doctor right away, got a scan to confirm the diagnosis, and medicated in a timely manner. I stayed a bit for observation and was then released. Everyone at this facility was fantastic- professional, empathetic, and good at their jobs. The facility itself was new and clean. Although I try to avoid ER's at all cost I'd certainly go back if need be and highly recommend Kyle ER. Unfortunately I don't have the names of everyone that helped me but I'm guessing everyone that works here is as top notch as those that helped me on my visit. read more

I went in after I got off work Monday around 10:30 and they had me in within a second of me handing in the paperwork. It turned out I had a kidney infection that had progressed into sepsis, and would need to be kept overnight. As a 21 year old college student who knew very little about the medical field, I was pretty scared as I had only ever heard sepsis in regards to organ failure and death. The night nurses were absolutely incredible, talking with me and laughing and helping to keep my mind off of the illness. I am incredibly grateful to them as through most of the night I was being pumped with fluids at a rapid rate leading me to have to use the call button about every ten minutes to use the bathroom. They checked on me on a fairly regular basis to see how I was feeling and if I needed anything to eat or drink. Needless to say, they made the hours until my dad arrived to keep me company go by swiftly. The morning nurses were just as great. I hadn't eaten since the previous morning and hadn't had much of an appetite, but one of the nurses brought me an applesauce along with the gatorade I requested as I began getting my thirst back, and honestly I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I tasted the applesauce. The doctor during the day was wonderful as well, he joked with me and was gentle when prodding my abdomen to gauge the discomfort from my swollen kidney. Overall, the incredible staff made a frightening, uncomfortable experience tolerable and kept me calm throughout the night and afternoon. My only complaint would be the doctor on duty during the night. I was fairly out of it between pain and unable to really focus as my head felt full of cotton, and as previously stated I was more than a bit startled to be told I had sepsis. Unable to really accumulate my thoughts and vocalize them in a good manner at the time, I straight asked him if I was going to die. I don't know if he was trying to joke or not, but he said that everyone was going to die. I struggled about for a couple more minutes asking if I was going to die recently, die currently, before I was finally able to find the word soon and ask if I was going to die soon. At that question he just kinda shrugged said something along the lines of he didn't know and walked off. That was the last I saw of him for the rest of my stay at the ER. I would urge you not to let that one bad doctor drive you away, the care I received was great and I went from on the verge of having to be sent to the hospital to stable enough to be released in about 18 hours. If I ever find myself severely ill again I know where I'll be in good hands. Update: A couple weeks later I received a bill for $25,000 for the 18 hours I was there. I didn't receive any treatment that would explain this hefty of a bill as most of the care I received was IV fluids. A few days later I received an additional bill for $35,000. I don't know what could justify a $60,000 bill for my short stay. We may have to go to court over it. Save yourself the trouble and go to Seton-Hays ER. I left a second star because the staff there truly were nice. read more

Took my son in for fever, he was given an iv of fluids to "help cool him down", took blood work, tested for strep and flu, gave him ibuprofen and Tylenol, and a penicillin shot. Apparently this costs $5,287!! My husband went in with strep throat that was diagnosed a few days earlier and he was still feeling bad. They did nothing but check vitals and tell him it may take a few more days, that costs $2056! Places like this is exactly why insurance costs a fortune for everyone. They are nice, so I guess you are paying a high premium for nice staff. I do not like having to go to doctors but my experience at Kyle ER & Hospital and meeting Juan Nieto, MD this morning was so very positive; if I have a medical emergency again in the future this will be my go-to place. The facility itself was modern and clean, the service was fast, the treatment was thorough and I feel confident I was given the very best service possible. Because of the type of insurance I have I chose self pay with very affordable rate having to have an X-ray, shot and meet with Dr. Nieto, who took the time to go speak with my daughter in the waiting room! That kind of treatment use to be the norm many years ago, it was really the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this facility for medical issues and Dr. Nieto was very professional while being very down to earth. read more
